Oh, and if you are thinking of a short black and white film with the exact same storyline it was a short film from the television series Exposure that aired on the SciFi channel. 5. QUESTION:
Would u say walt Disney started created things for the Disney company in 1922 or 1927.?
I just need some opinions but please search it before you answer don't just guess. THANKS!!!!!

    • ANSWER:
-Walt Disney was one of the great pioneers of filmmaking and the creator of several classic films, most notably his feature-length animated films such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Pinocchio. Disney, who grew up almost without a childhood, found a way to amuse himself as an adult by making cartoons and filling them with characters like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. Creator of cartoons, live-action movies, theme parks, and television programs for the whole family, Disney introduced wholesome family entertainment on a world scale, and was one of the major entertainment forces of the twentieth century.

      Personal Life

Walter Elias Disney, known throughout most of his life as Walt Disney, was born on December 5, 1901, in Chicago, Illinois. He had three older brothers and a younger sister. He and one of his older brothers remained especially close throughout Disney’s lifetime and pursued the same business together.

Disney’s parents, Elias and Flora Disney, came from farming backgrounds, Elias from Canada and Flora from Ohio. Walt’s father was a strong influence on the entire family. A stern religious fundamentalist, he readily disciplined his children with his belt. He also denied the children toys, games, and sporting equipment associated with childhood, and this experience may have had some impact on Disney’s later passion for the entertainment of children.

Growing up in the Disney family was further complicated by the father’s pro-union activism and his political support of the socialist presidential candidate, Eugene Debs, as well as his tendency to change jobs frequently. The family was forced to move to both rural and urban areas all over the Midwest, from Chicago to Marceline, Missouri, to Kansas City, Missouri, and back to Chicago. Disney’s father worked in farming, railway shops, carpentry and contracting work, and newspaper distribution. The family was always on the verge of financial collapse, and everyone in the family who could do some kind of work, like deliver newspapers, did.

Disney, according to his brother and lifelong business partner Roy, always enjoyed country life. He loved the animals he encountered, some of which may have inspired him to create cartoon animals in his later career in filmmaking.

Disney had a difficult time gaining an education because of his family’s constant moving and his need to work to help support the family. When he was 16, though, he was able to join an art class at the Chicago Academy and Fine Arts, where he developed his modest drawing skills.

Disney dropped out of high school at age 17 to serve in World War I. He had tried to follow his brother Roy into the Navy but was rejected because he was underage. He was accepted as an ambulance driver for the Red Cross after altering the birthdate on his application. He served in France for a short time and returned to the United States in 1919. After returning from the war, he moved on his own to Kansas City, Missouri, where he worked a variety of jobs as a commercial artist and cartoonist.

Disney met Lillian Bounds, one of the employees in his first cartoon-film studio in the early 1920s, and they married on July 13, 1925. The marriage lasted a lifetime, and they produced two daughters.

Disney was known as a perfectionist and a demanding man. Some people saw him as self-centered, and he seemed often baffled when people disagreed with him. He was described by friends and coworkers as a driven man, even “a workaholic.” Disney’s personal life was filled with paradoxes. He smoked constantly, yet seemed to dislike this bad habit in others. Politically, he was the total opposite of his father. Disney joined the Republican Party in California and remained a firm political conservative. Though he loved country life, he spent most of his life in cities. A complex man, he suffered two nervous breakdowns in his life, one at age 30, and another a decade later, after half the cartoonists of his company went out on strike against him in a dispute about his labor practices.

By 1960, Disney had become a wealthy man, despite many ups and downs in his career. Just as he neared the pinnacle of his career, after having won five Oscars for his production of the movie Mary Poppins, he learned that his lifetime of cigarette smoking was to have consequences. He had surgery for lung cancer in 1966. Though he appeared to be recovering, he had a relapse and died on December 15, 1966.

Disney received more than 700 awards for his creative achievements, including an honorary Academy Award in 1939, four Academy Awards in 1954, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom, awarded to him by President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1965. He was also honored with the Freedom Foundation Award later that same year.

  6. QUESTION:
    Linux, Fedora 17 "Installing apps"?
I literally installed Fedora 17 today! I am really new linux, and do not understand most of it. but I download apps from the fedora project website, but I don't see an option to install the applications! it just lets me view what is inside the the folder I downloaded from the website!
I would love the easiest way possible to install these apps!
I need this computer done as fast as possible! For school, and there are some apps that will help me with it, instead of purchasing 0 software! (photoshop, after effects, and word) all for a short film they assigned me to produce.
    thanks!

    • ANSWER:
Hey i think you should start out with a more friendly version
Linux Mint is SO much easier and also you don't have to setup as much when you install it like you don't have to install mp3 support and you don't have to install flash its all there
And it comes with a cool minty green theme as well
Fedora is great no doubt but my first linux was fedora and i do NOT like rpm's
Google says 'ap-get is LIGHTYEARS aheah of rpm' referring to the deb system
Sorry got a bit technical there but i think mint is much better for any new user that comes to linux
      And the link is http://www.linuxmint.com/
I think you will like the cinnamon desktop--- you can install Cinnamon in fedora i think its really rool but it came from mint and its just awesome
Hope you like fedora and try mint some time soon

  7. QUESTION:
Am I the only person who ever saw the critically acclaimed but short-lived TV series, "Life As We Know It?"
It was set in Seattle (although filmed in Vancover) and featured several VERY HOT young actors (including Sean Faris)--coming to terms with love, sex and life in general. It was extremely well produced and a litte controversial at times (subject matter: masterbation, sex with girlfriend, mother having sex with son's coach, and hot young female teacher getting involved with male student). ABC pulled it after 11 episodes, but the DVD includes two additional episodes that never aired! It's great for fans of shows like "DeGrassi High", "Everwood", "Hidden Palms", etc.--but better done than any of those. Does anyone even know the show I'm talking about??? (Oh, Kelly Osbourne had a role, too).

    • ANSWER:
I absolutely loved that show! I remember being upset when they canceled it. Deb and Jon where my favorite couple. I have the DVD of the whole series, but I have yet to actually watch the last couple of episodes that didn't air on TV. You've inspired me to watch it again.

I read the book that the show was based on. It's called "Doing It" by Melvin Burgess. Much more explicit than the series and also a lot of British slang used since the author is from the U.K. I recommend it.

  8. QUESTION:
Mac or PC? Which should I get?
In a short time, I will need to invest in a new computer, preferably a laptop. I have always had a PC, but I have also been urged to switch to mac. We all know macs are more expensive...and I might only be able to afford a regular macbook. So my question to you....
    Mac....or PC

    and why
I will be using it mostly for email, chat, watching videos, and possibly a game or two (i'm not a big gamer). I also might do some video and photo editing which I KNOW should shout "Mac!" but I've been doing that on a PC for years and have never done it on a Mac.

    • ANSWER:
I would get a PC for the following..

PC=Variety of specs, options, quality, prices, vendors, support
Mac=One vendor, limited options, still more expensive. Look below for more information..

Today, Macs use a subset of PC hardware. Why spend extra to get the same CPU chips, graphics cards and OS X isn't as secure as you think..

Don't believe the lies that Macs are better than PCs at graphics/animation.. Dreamworks Animation http://www.dreamworksanimation.com/ under studio click on Technology of Animation, an independent film maker I know uses PCs, a graphic artist I used to know uses PCs also.

A number of PCs can also run OS X (Mac OS) http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=os+x+on+pc&btnG=Google+Search&aq=0&oq=os+x+on+ as well just that Apple makes it illegal in order to get Market share.. The reason why Mac can run native Windows is because it is using a subset of PC hardware,

If you decide to buy a Mac for running Windows, you will still have to get the same virus/spyware protection, and run into the same issues as a regular PC.

Now is a Mac worth buying for OS X?

I say: NO... for the following reasons...

      ADVANTAGES WINDOWS :
Aprox 90% of the market is Windows and most PCs have windows already pre-installed.
      1) Some websites require Internet Explorer, to run IE on Mac you really get ies4osx which is the Windows version of IE running really buggy and illegal if you don't have a legitimate copy of Windows.
      2) Supports more devices (printers and other things you hook into the computer).
      3) More business software/games
      4) Want the dock on OS X (Mac)? google/yahoo rocketdock, objectdoc.
      5) Used by businesses.

      ADVANTAGES LINUX :
      1) FREE (most versions are)
      2) Install software by either 1) Synaptic Package Manager, 2) Add/Remove 3) Opening a .deb or .rpm file (depending on distribution)
      2) Like the Mac OS X effects? go yahoo/google COMPIZ FUSION which can do any cool effect a Mac can do and many ore....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3gkX9HDfEE (there is no flickering when you use it like on the video, not sure why the person has the flicker)
      3) Mac OS X Doc? google/yahoo Avant Window Navigator.Cairo Dock, http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3rf5q_cairo-dock-mac-os-x-leopard-dock-on_tech

      4) It is FASTER/MORE SECURE to surf on the internet
      5) Some Windows programs work with Wnehq/Crossover (also avail on Mac, but why pay $$$)

      SECURITY
Mac OS X was hacked in 2006 less than 30 minutes, and within 2 minutes in a contest in 2008, and within 10 seconds in 2009. In 2008, Linux and Vista were not hacked until another day when restrictions were lowered. Vista was next, and then Linux. In 2009 Windows 7 fell shortly after the Mac but Linux was unscathed.
Macs are standardized with Cameras, if your Mac gets hacked, the hacker can turn on your camera with more ease.
Please Note: All OS's have vulnerabilities.

      VIRUSES
Mac OS X has viruses (and significantly on the rise), a friend of mine has a virused Mac. As more users use Macs, more viruses will come out for it. Especially when users think "they are safe".

      QUALITY/PROBLEMS
Contrary to belief, Macs are not better quality. Apple also has been changing suppliers to try to "lower the price" and thus lowering quality. Even with the lower prices, Macs still cost more, they spend a higher percent of budget trying to make it look pretty, and marketing.

Sample of problems: Overheating Macbooks, OS X- not responding to keyboard, some units with 16bit screens, etc. Apple statistics are misleading since Mac users with problem machines are more likely to go out and buy a new computer than PC users. Apple is lowering prices which means you can expect lower quality than in the past. Apple had switched the manufacturers producing parts. OS X also has problems slowing down.

Repairs are more expensive than PCs since the IMac, Mac Mini are compact units, and Apple charges a premium for their services. Some repairs can be done by another repair service but the compact design of the computer causes problems.
With an IMac, if the problem is with the monitor, the whole computer would have to be brought in.
IMac and Mac mini lack expansion.

      PRICE
A similar equipped PC is much cheaper to purchase than Mac. Lets use Dell (but you can compare with another PC Brand if you like)

      **(LAPTOP)
Dell Inspiron Laptop Starting Price: 0
      Ending Price: 0
      15" Screen

CPU: 2.1GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (SLOWER)
      Graphics: Nvidia GFORCE 9400 256MB
Memory: (upgrade to) 4GB DDR2 SDRAM (SAME)

      http://store.apple.com/us/configure/MC240LL/A?mco=NjcxMTQ3Ng

      **(DESKTOP)

PLEASE NOTE: I compare Apple Mac's vs Dells best deal. If you really want an all-in one the Dell all-in-one has more ram, wireless keyboard and mouse and equivalent to 0 for free making the Imac still more expensive when you matching specs. Personally I don't think the All-in-Ones are a good choice, and consider them overpriced, lack expandability and repairs both more expensive and require the entire computer.

PS: Apple knows that they need to make Macintosh look different than PC so all Macs except the Mac Pro will not have a tower option. Apple's low end lacks expandability but it makes the Mac "look different", if Mac had a tower for low-end, more people would realize the similarities between the two.

      Dell: (0)
CPU: 2.4 GHZ Dell Inspiron QUAD (4 Processor) CORE
      SCREEN: 20inch Screen
      MEMORY: 4GB Ram
HARD DRIVE: 500 GB hard Drive
      OPTICAL DRIVE: 16x DVD/CD Read/Writer
      GRAPHICS: ATI Radeon HD 256MB

The Mac Mini since it has no monitor, keyboard, mouse, very skimpy on options and setup and is not the best deal... The IMac is better price than the Mac Mini.

      IMac (00)
CPU: 2.4 GHZ DUAL (2 Processor) CORE (SLOWER CPU)
      SCREEN: 20inch Screen
MEMORY: (upgrade to) 4GB Ram (SAME)
HARD DRIVE: (upgrade to ) 320 GB hard Drive (LESS HARD DRIVE)
      OPTICAL DRIVE: 8x DVD Reader/Writer (1/2 speed)
GRAPHICS: Nvidia Geforce 9400M (APPROX SAME BUT LESS MEMORY GAPHICS)

  9. QUESTION:
What computer should my family buy?
Okay, so our most recent computer got a really bad virus, because my brother clicked something he shouldn't have by accident, so, long story short, we don't have that computer anymore.

Now we need to buy a new computer. Of course there are tons of options, but so with so many of them, it makes it hard to choose.

So, I'm asking, which one would you recommend we buy? One for a good price, of course, and one that would be suitable for the family.

We threw a bunch of pros and cons of Desktops and laptops - the computer would be at the same desk that I do my home work on, so if we get a laptop I could move it so that I have more room/ However, if we get a desktop, I could easily do my work around it.

Also, between a mac and a PC. We got a virus on a PC, but even still, they've been really good for us. We also have an iMac, but that version's old, but even still, it's been faithful to us, and there's less chance of us getting a virus on a mac, or so I've heard.

I've basically been throwing out pros and cons of each, but even still, which one would you guys recommend? A laptop or a desktop? A PC or a mac?

    Thanks 😀
    To "Masked":

Actually, we can't fix this one - it won't even let us move the mouse. We've gotten a virus before, we were able to fix that one, but this one.. it's just unbearable.

      Dell: (0)
CPU: 2.33 GHZ Dell Inspiron QUAD (4 Processor) CORE
      SCREEN: 20inch Screen
      MEMORY: 4GB Ram

The Mac Mini since it has no monitor, keyboard, mouse, very skimpy on options and setup and is not the best deal... The IMac is better price than the Mac Mini.

      IMac (00)
CPU: 2.4 GHZ DUAL (2 Processor) CORE (SLOWER CPU)

  11. QUESTION:
a special question: DIARY OF THE DEAD 2007/08 - why did George A. Romero produce it with a lackluster idea?
Do not get me wrong, I´m a big Romero fan and I have collected all George A. Romero "Dead - DVD series":
    1. Night 1968
    2. Dawn 1978
    3. Day 1984
    4. Land 2005
    5. Diary 2007/08

The last one DIARY is the weakest one, where the idiot Jason Creed held only his own film camera all the time and most worst of all he did not make any special actings in that movie. His girlfriend Deb was acting more marvelously and she could be a protagonist in that movie, but not Jason!

Even when Tracy - his girlmate had a trouble with a walking dead and that moron Jason was still filming on it.....it looks very ridiculous!

If I would meet Romero personally, I will spend my time with him, honesty I admire him like my own Zombie papa, but due to this ridiculous film I would like to make a sharp critic on it.

I was so unhappy with the last one.

I hope my Bava Loyalist & my dearest Myst Moonstruck know the helpful answers.

    • ANSWER:
...the only thing that I can figure, regarding "Diary of the Dead", is that George Romero wanted to produce something that once again drew attention to yet another controversial aspect of human society, with respects to today's particular time and place in history, and once again make some kind of underlining statement about it, as he has done with his previous films. In this case, I suspect that he wanted to make a statement about just how dangerous and manipulative the media can get, especially nowadays, with wide and unrestricted general public access to this media, and how even the 'everyman', who not only has readily access to this media, via computer, where he/she can express his/her opinion, but also, this very same 'everyman' can produce and submit his/her own opinionated and manipulative vision, via home video camera, and submit it online, for all to see (...don't sell Romero short, as being old and feeble enough to come up with something intelligent in his films; his physical appearance might be breaking down, with age, bet be rest assured that his creative and analytical mind is still as sharp as a tack)...

....originally, the film was supposed to make these very same statements, but was instead supposed to take place at or around the time period of the very first film, the original "Night of the Living Dead", basically saying that while the developing events depicted in the first movie were taking place, meanwhile in another part of the country, these other events were taking place. I suppose that the time period was shifted to something much more contemporary, to much easily relate to present times, as well as making the film more readily relatable to several other film, which have (...and will have) used the hand-held camera style of filmmaking, like "Cannibal Holocaust", "The Blair Witch Project", "The Last Broadcast", "Cloverfield", and the upcoming "Quarantine". It's a rather unique filmming style, but I'm of the opinion that this style is better suited for short films, rather than feature films, and the reason is story. Typically, this approach is 'justified' by a pre-declaration, which states that this is recently discovered 'lost' footage, but eventally, it takes a stretch, or even a total dispension of logical to accept this. At any rate, It does take a lot to sustain a feature-length story, with this this kind of filmmaking style, that is, without the characters in the feature film appearing, for lack of a better term, stupid. I mean, think about it: if you was being chased down or pursue by the living dead, or a giant monster, or whatever, you are not going to take the time to stand there and videotape the proceedings; most folks are just going to be way too busy, getting the heck out of there. Also, something all of these movies have in common, and has become a stereotypical prerequisite, is that there's always some character, who's obsessed with 'getting it all down, for posperity', to a point where you barely get a chance to see that character, because he's got a camera glued to his eyeball; it's almost as if the filmmaker is forcing you to identify with this barely seen character, in keeping with his point of view. Naturally, in reciprocation, there's always the prerequisite scene, where one of the other characters, in being annoyed at being visually documented, each and every moment, expresses his or her annoyance at the person with the camera (...in that respect, as far as "Diary...", did anyone even care about any of these characters, anyways??? I sure the heck didn't...).....

....in the end, "Dairy of the Dead" was definitely different, and seem somewhat experimental, from what Romero has previously wrought; it WAS entertaining, but definitely a far cry from being an compelling and engaging excursion into the 'living dead' genre, which Romero himself gave birth to. Hopefully, the planned follow-up/sequel will be of much more engaging substance....but if it just assumes the same turn of events and character progression/behavior, I wouldn't bet on it!!!

  12. QUESTION:
Parents who have been to Disney World with young children- HELP?
We have been saving money for a long time to go on vacation with the kids. I'm just found out I'm pregnant with twins, and as I'm not very far along yet, we thought now would be a good time to go, otherwise we'll have to wait a while.

I want to go somewhere that will be fun for us all. We thought of Disney World as it is known for being child-friendly. I have a 7 year old son and a 4 year old daughter. But here's the catch... the boy has autism, and the girl has Rett Syndrome. The boy functions at immediate levels (such as speech, human interaction, etc) at the level of about a 3 year old- according to his therapist anyway. He is very good with animals, and LOVES animals, especially elephants and Dumbo, the Disney film. And he can sometimes seems much older than his age, with things that he says which are quite inciteful. He's a people-watcher, and is very observant. He does not like large crowds and lots of noise, but as long as we could have a quiet spot for us to escape to once and a while, he would be fine.

The girl will be in a wheel chair as she cannot walk, and she also cannot talk. She functioning at the level of a 5 month old baby, again this is according to specialists, but I would argue she understands more than she can tell us. She also has watched Disney movies.

So, long story short, we need this place to be actually child-friendly. Of course the website says it is. But I don't know anyone who has been, so I was wondering if any parents who have taken young children to Disney World can tell me if it was fun... was it worth it? Or should we wait until the twins are older and take them all? The thing we're really worried about is that as the older 2 get older, they may not become less "disabled", and we might never have another chance to go on vacation again with these 2 anyway. (Of course if the twins end up being fine-- which we hope and pray they will be-- then we will try to give them normal childhood experiences).

So any thoughts about Disney World with small children would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

PS/ Please don't tell me not to bring more retarded children into the world. I have heard that many times before, and I do not need to hear it again. My children are not retarded. They are wonderful human beings, and regardless of what you think, I promise you, I am doing my absolute best to ensure that they are the most productive people they can be. Thank you for your consideration (as this question isn't about what you think of my family).

    • ANSWER:
Oh my God, there's this book I have that you MUST get! It'll be perfect for you and your family. It's called PassPorter's Open Mouse for Walt Disney World and the Disney Cruise Line: Easy-Access Vacations for Travelers with Extra Challenges (by Deb Wills and Debra Martin Koma). You can find it on Amazon or at Border's, Barnes & Nobles, etc. It's "the ultimate sourcebook for Disney World visitors with unique problems and needs." It has sections for ADHD, addiction recovery, allergies & asthma, autism, chronic fatigue, cognitive disabilities, dieting, fears, foreign language, hearing, heart health, infants, medical treatment, mobility, motion sensitivity, physical therapy, pregnancy, seniors, size, and vision. It really would be the perfect book for you, I think.

Here's part of the autism section...

      "Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)

      PLANNING AHEAD

Remember to plan, but be flexible. Have some structure to your days, but also retain the flexibility to change at the last minute if needed. Read and learn about Walt Disney World, and develop a plan before your trip.

Reader Tip: "Make sure to schedule an off day. I always build in a day where we stay in the room, go to the pool, and just relax."

As you begin to plan, watch Disney movies and the vacation planning DVDs. These slowly introduce your traveler with ASD to Disney characters, parks, and resorts. Remember, the characters are large and can be imposing in the parks. Introduce your ASD traveler from a distance. Prepare them with stories, talk about the parks, and show pictures.

      UPON YOUR ARRIVAL

Keep your regular routine. If your traveler who has ASD is normally up at 7:00 am, then that's when you should get up (you may want to adjust this to reflect your home time zone). If they are used to eating at specific times, do your best to keep that schedule.

Use FASTPASS at the parks -- we can't stress this enough. It will significantly reduce the time you wait in line! One important note, however -- some with ASD will not understand why they got in line to get a FASTPASS and then left without riding (the FASTPASS gives you a specific time to come back, such as between 3:00 and 4:00 pm). Have one member of your group get all the FASTPASSES.

Be sure all members of your party know that once they are seated in a ride, they must stay seated until the ride is fully completed. They cannot stand or exit until the ride is over and fully stopped. In theater settings, sit at the end of a row in case you need to make a quick exit.

At character meet and greets, show the attending cast member your Guest Assistance Card, if you have one. Ask if you can wait your turn in the shade or away from the crowd.

Ask the Cast Member outside each attraction about noise levels, ceiling fans, flashing lights, or other potential problems. Also ask for seating recommendations. If you want to be near an exit, be the first to go down the row in the theaters.

Reader Tip: "Many autism spectrum children are sensory-seeking, not just defensive. I've traveled with two very different autism spectrum kids and, for both, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad was their favorite. Your child's limitations should guide you."

Manipulations found in certain areas of Disney's Animal Kingdom and Epcot can provide wonderful tactile stimulation.

Having dinner in the parks or resort? If it won't disrupt your routine too much, eat early (around 4:00 pm) so you don't have long waits."

    • ANSWER:
Look I don't know if I have the right one but there was a movie made in 1983 called Karate. It was directed by Deb Mukherjee and released in India. Thats all I know I'm afraid but maybe theres some way of researching through Deb Mukherjee.

Come back to edit this. Done a bit of research and it is the right film. Deb Mukherjee produced, directed and starred in it.
Even managed to watch a short clip from it on YouTube, 2 minutes ago.
