What Disney movies are available for streaming on Netflix?
Unfortunately I don't have Netflix, so I can't really check. I have never seen any of the original Disney movies, and I wanted to during my winter break.

    • ANSWER:
Pretty much all of them - including Pocahontas.

Disney has inked a new multi-year licensing deal that makes Netflix the exclusive U.S. subscription TV service to get the Mouse House's first run live-action and animated films. Deal ends Disney's existing pay TV deal with Starz beginning in 2016.

Deal includes titles from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel Studios and Disneynature. Also included in the agreement are Disney direct-to-video releases, which will be made available on Netflix starting in 2013.

  4. QUESTION:
Is it technically possible to take a film made using old-fashioned hand-drawn animation and make it 3D?
You know what I mean, animation that is NOT computer generated, just the very old original animation like the Walt Disney studios did 60 or 70 years ago. I don't think there IS any way to make this kind of animation 3D, but I wanted to ask anyway.

    • ANSWER:
Disney is planning a 3D rerelease of The Little Mermaid in 2013. The film was done almost compeltely with traditional hand-drawn cel animation. In fact, it was the last Disney film to be animated that way (every animated Disney film after it heavily relied on computers). If The Little Mermaid can be 3D, then I think we have to assume that it would be possible to give the 3D treatment to almost any hand-drawn film.

  5. QUESTION:
Is Disney.Pixar going to start releasing 2 films per year starting in 2013?

  7. QUESTION:
What is the name of the old disney Rapunzel movie?
Is it just Rapunzel or is it something else? I don't want Tangled, I want the old disney Rapunzel because I want to watch it. If someone knows it's name, where can I find it?
Maybe I am thinking of Sleeping Beauty but I'm pretty sure it was Rapunzel...

    • ANSWER:
There are no other Disney Adaptations for Rapunzel. There have been several different adaptations through out the years: An adaptation featuring Barbie, entitled Barbie as Rapunzel, was released in 2002. In this version, Rapunzel is not trapped inside her tower until she explores the outside world. Gothel also keeps Rapunzel in a tower not because of a vegetable but because she wants revenge on an old boyfriend. The main concept of hair in this version is also not extremely important. Rather, it focuses more on a magic paintbrush.

Disney released a 2010 version of the tale, Tangled, originally titled Rapunzel.[16] In this version, Rapunzel, while still innocent, is far more assertive in character and has magical hair, 70 feet (21 m) in length, that can be used to heal or restore youth in others (notably Mother Gothel, which is why she locked Rapunzel in the tower in the first place). To activate her golden hair's healing properties, Rapunzel must sing an incantation. As with many variations of the fairy tale, Rapunzel's tears are also shown to possess healing powers.

There was also an earlier animated film adaptation with Olivia Newton-John narrating the story. The major difference between the film and the Grimm tale is that instead of making the prince blind, the witch transforms him into a bird, possibly a reference to The Blue Bird, which is sometimes considered a variant of the story.

"Rapunzel the Dance Film", a Sisters Grimm Ltd production with the Royal Ballet, is due for screening in 2013.

The KIDOONS Network released an online version Rapunzel. Rapunzel is a trademark of EnTechneVision.

A live action version was filmed for television as part of Shelley Duvall's series Faerie Tale Theatre, airing on Showtime. It aired on February 5, 1983. In it, the main character (played by Shelley Duvall) is taken from her parents by a witch (Gena Rowlands), and is brought up in an isolated tower that can only be accessed by climbing her unnaturally long hair. Jeff Bridges played the prince, and Roddy McDowall narrated.

  8. QUESTION:
Where can I watch Paperman Short film by Disney?
I would like to know where can I watch Paperman by Disney which was presented before Wreck-it Ralph.
    Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2NjrRYRAIs

Youtube is the only way at the moment because Paperman is still a very new film and all the rights and ownership is with Disney. Disney wouldn't want anyone to post it online so people would watch it for free, thats not how they wanna make money at this early stage.

I'm projecting Disney, to release Paperman on Itunes in three to four months time in 2013

  11. QUESTION:
Will Disney and Pixar make a Emily doll in Toy Story 4?
Hi my name is Emily. I will be 22 years old soon. I am a white girl. I have a long brown straight hair and brown eyes. I am short at 4’9” and thin at 90 pounds. I like to pull my hair up in messy bun and use a hair gel and hairspray to pull my hair slick back at many times. I like to wear a black spaghetti strap top, blue jeans and white sneakers at sometimes. I love myself and I am a very beautiful and young woman and some people think I am 14 years old and I look eight years younger. I like to watch all Toy Story films and Buzz and Woody are my favorite characters from those films. I think about myself and those films and I would like to see Disney and Pixar make a Emily doll like me. I want Disney and Pixar to make a new character for Toy Story 4 if they make that new one and I want them to make a Emily doll that looks like me. I want them to make a Emily like with brown hair and brown eyes like me. Emily doll’s hair is pulled up in a messy bun and she is wearing a black spaghetti strap top, blue jeans and white sneakers like me. I want Disney and Pixar to make a Emily doll like me and will they make that one for Toy Story 4?

    • ANSWER:
Yes, Emily. The character "Emily" will actually be the protagonist in Toy Story 4. The feature film will focus on Emily's journey through various psych wards and mental hospitals, all the while having giggles and laughs with Buzz and Woody. Coming out on your birthday of 2013.

  12. QUESTION:
Is there a possibility of there being an iron man 4?
Do they have enough comic info to make it go on for longer than just 4.
In my opinion Supper Hero movies(and Harry Potter)should make more than 3, 4, maby even 5! Cuz they have so much info and people like them so much that they should just go on as much as it can.

    • ANSWER:
The backstory is there to make dozens of movies about Iron Man. The problem isn't story material, it's Hollywood red tape, mixed with public reception.
Eventually, Iron Man will grow old with audiences. He hit out of nowhere and became super popular, but the test of time is to see if he will be popular in 5 years (I think it's likely, but who knows. As it is, we're kinda in the "comic book" movie age. The trend will likely move on to something else pretty soon, because the market is starting to get over-saturated with comic book films)

As it is, Marvel/Disney just announced that Iron Man 3 will be released on May 3rd, 2013. Time will tell if he's even popular enough at that point in time for the 3rd film to be a sucess like 1 & 2

So in short, it's totally possible. As long as the corporate big wigs think that there's money to be made from Iron Man sequels, we will get more and more...

There is no Disneyland Thanksgiving Parade. Could you mean the filming of the Disney Christmas Day Parade (which is usually filmed in early November)? If so, nothing has been announced yet.

As to characters, any of the Character Meals are good places to meet them like Ariel's Grotto or Goofy's Kitchen.

  15. QUESTION:
Is it true that Disney is buying rights to Avatar?
Is it true? I heard this at college. My friends were talking about it...
By Avatar I mean Pandora Avatar... not The Last Airbender.

    • ANSWER:
Not exactly. Disney has partnered with James Cameron and Fox Filmed Entertainment, and they plan to bring Avatar themed rides and attractions to the Disney parks. The first announced project will be a themed land at the Animal Kingdom park at WDW, although construction won't start until 2013.

The first few news articles here explain it well: http://wdwnewstoday.com/archives/category/ak

Disney will not "own" Avatar. It will be more like how they have Star Wars, Muppet, Indiana Jones, Twilight Zone, etc... attractions at their parks. None of those properties are actually "owned" by Disney, but Disney has made agreements with the people and companies that DO own them that allows Disney to have rides and attractions based on them at their parks.

  18. QUESTION:
Will there ever be an Artemis Fowl movie?
The books are really good and I've done some research and it says that the movie was written but I'm not sure.

    • ANSWER:
AF author Eoin Colfer said in August that there is a script and a director (the writing/directing team is Jim Sheridan and his daughter, who made the movie "In America"). There's no cast, no studio financing, and no production start date, but the interview suggests that shooting may begin sometime next year, which would likely mean a 2012 release date.

      http://www.artemis-fowl.com/author_inter…

      Artemis Fowl Movie
What will be in the movie?

The movie’s plot will combine the storylines of both of the first two books, Artemis Fowl, and Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident. Colfer has been deeply involved in this, and has created a whole new ending, though he promises that the movie will remain quite faithful to the books.
Why has it taken so long?

Filming on the movie was due to begin a few years ago, but a dispute arose between Miramax, and Disney, when Bob and Harvey Weinstein left the company to start “The Weinstein Company.” This dispute delayed production for many years, but thankfully, has finally been resolved, with both Disney and The Weinstein Company now owning the rights. The movie is now progressing with the script finished, and casting rumored to begin sometime over the coming Summer.

Some reports suggest that another reason for the production being delayed was that the value of the U.S. Dollar fell in comparison to the Euro.
So what do we know for a fact about it?

Well, we know a few things. Firstly, the rights to the first three books have been purchased. The first two have been used in this movie of course, but does this hint at a sequel being planned?

Secondly, the movie, or at least part of it, is being shot in Ireland. This is likely as Colfer lives in Wexford, Ireland. This county has been used for parts of the filming of “Saving Private Ryan” and “Braveheart”, whilst Ireland as a whole was the filming location of the more recent, “Arthur.” Furthermore, the Irish Government places relatively low tax on such creative projects (In an effort to build the industry within the country).

Unfortunately, “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” was also originally scheduled to be shot in Ireland, but moved on.
      Who is playing who?

Casting is yet to begin, and so, no-one is set to play any of the parts yet. Originally, a boy (His name was never given) was chosen to play Artemis, but due to the huge delays, he grew too old for the part. Recently however, Aidan Mitchell has expressed an interest in the part, and Colfer has said that he would like to have a cameo role as a goblin.

A few details on the non-acting staff have been released as well, and you can read about them on our casting page.
      When is it due out?

Filming is yet to begin, so the movie is still a long way off. At a guess, you could hope for sometime in 2012-2013

  19. QUESTION:
Does anybody know when the Maximum Ride movie comes out?
I really cannot wait until it does when does it come out is my only question! :)

    • ANSWER:
      From Wiki
"In January 2007, it was announced that a film would be created based on the Maximum Ride series. James Patterson will be the executive producer. Avi Arad, one of the producers of Spider-Man, X-Men and other Marvel movies, will also produce alongside Steven Paul. In an interview with James Patterson, it was revealed that Arad has already planned out the first two movies. On August 7, 2008, it was announced that Columbia Pictures bought the screen rights to the franchise. The film was slated for an early to mid 2010 release. Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight) will direct the first movie, with Don Payne (Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer) writing the script. In January 2010 it was announced that the film will go into pre-production as the films director Catherine Hardwicke asked for a script rewrite as she wanted more action to the film, delaying the film's release until 2013. Many people favor Avan Jogia from "Victorious" as Fang, however a small minority have recently recognised David Lambert from disney program "Aaron Stone" as a suitable Fang"

      Hope this helps

    • ANSWER:
he actors playing in the fourth film were told by Disney not to occupy their time in the near future, as the studio intends to shoot a fifth and sixth film back-to-back.

On January 14, 2011, it was confirmed that Terry Rossio will write the screenplay for the fifth installment, without his co-writer Ted Elliott.

Johnny Depp said that he would be happy to return as Captain Jack Sparrow saying "As long as we can put all the puzzle pieces together, I would most definitely consider it".

According to Terry Rossio, the script for the fifth film is finished, and he has handed the script to Disney executives.

Disney has a wishlist of directors they would like to direct, as Rob Marshall has not yet accepted or declined to direct.
The list includes Tim Burton, Sam Raimi, Alfonso Cuaron, Shawn Levy, Chris Weitz, and original Pirates director Gore Verbinski.
Gore Verbinski and Tim Burton are Disney's top choices as they have both worked with Disney and Johnny Depp on numerous occasions.

Disney wanted Tim Burton for the fourth film as Gore Verbinski would not be returning.

On July 6, 2011, Johnny Depp confirmed he was closing in on a deal for the fifth film. Pirates of the Caribbean 5 is scheduled for a 2013 release!!!!

  24. QUESTION:

    omg. i love him.

    • ANSWER:
To clarify, The Lone Ranger's current release date is July 3, 2013 in the U.S. Depp is playing Tonto, the Lone Ranger's traditionally monosyllabic Native American sidekick, who narrates the story in this live-action Disney film.

  25. QUESTION:
Does anyone know of any Disney and Pixar films coming out 2013 and beyond?

    • ANSWER:
No, we have info up to 2012, but the rest will have to wait for a later date.

This is the third time you have asked this question. The answer you seek is not out there yet. i would wait until 2011 at the earliest to ask again

  26. QUESTION:
Is disney making more princess movies?
I thought that disney wasn't going to make any more princess movies, but I have been seeing commercials for brave, and from what I gather, she is a princess, and I saw that disney is the maker of this...can somebody please clarify

    • ANSWER:
First of all, Brave is Pixar....Second of all, Ed Catmull said a long time ago on the official Facebook page of Disney (I sound pathetic using Facebook as a reference, but it is official nonetheless) that they are still making fairy tale films despite what LA Times said. In 2013, Disney is releasing a movie called Frozen, based off The Snow Queen, and that's official too: http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/06/12/disney-officially-announces-frozen

  27. QUESTION:
On the future state of traditional 2D hand drawn animation?
There is an article of Disney shocking fans of traditional two dimensional and largely hand drawn animation today by pulling away from such a technique:

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2013/mar/07/disney-hand-drawn-animation

And that leads me to ask you these:

Do you think that it is daring and/or radical in 21st century Hollywood for someone to use the techinque of traditional two dimensional and largely hand drawn animation on the big screen?

Do you think 2D hand drawn animation equal death at the 21st century box office?

And would it take another decade or two or more for the renewal, revival and resurrection of traditional two dimensional and largely hand drawn animation to be truly felt even in 21st century Hollywood and on the 21st century big screen?

    Well, what's your thoughts?

    • ANSWER:
I'm not surprised, Disney is as big as McDonalds. They're more of a franchise for products than animation. You'd think they keep creating more and more animation in forms of episodes/season sure, they did that stuff in the past, but look at it now. Its as if after Walt died or maybe because of the amusement park, they had "better things to do" than animation.

I remember watching this YouTube video about an animated film consisting of thousands of pages (yeah just like any other) But this one seemed to be different (I think) it wasn't finished, and was like the Epics of Epic animation everything in it was hand drawn (probably) But the project wasn't finished!

  28. QUESTION:
What did Everyone and Disney actually think of Disney's Dinosaur?
Okay, What did Everyone, Disney fans and critics and the people at Disney and at Disney Feature Animation, among others, really, actually think of Disney's Dinosaur? Why Did Disney's Dinosaur has very cool CGI and Live Action Backgrounds? What if Disney's Dinosaur is given a second life with 2 versions, Disney's Dinosaur Redux which will weave together the original 2000 film and all the story ideas, things, creatures, etc. that are made for Disney's Dinosaur from 1994 to 2000, and the other, Disney's Dinosaur: The Paul Verhoeven/Phil Tippett Cut, which will combine Stop Motion with CGI, and based on and will stay 100% true and faithful to the earlier 1988 Walon Green Screenplay which had no dialogue, both of which will be set in an aspect ratio of 2.35:1? What if Dinosaur Redux might be shown in Disney Digital 3D and what if all 3 versions might be released in a 12-Disc Platinum Edition DVD box set on October 2013? Well, What is your answer?

    • ANSWER:
I love everything that Disney do, so whatever they chose to do is fine by me. Disney 3D would be amazing!

  31. QUESTION:
When is Girl Meets World going to be on tv...?
Also I know Cory Matthews (Ben Savage) and Topanga Lawerence (Danielle Fishel) are going to be on the show, but what about Mr.Feeny (william daniels), Eric (will friedle), and Shawn (rider strong)?
And why is the show on Disney and not ABC or something they're going to kid up the show
If anyone didn't know, this is the sequel show to Boy Meets World, which is one of my all-time favourite shows ♥

    • ANSWER:
They start filming next month if they cast the Daughter soon.
Shouldn't be airing until at least mid 2013/late 2013
Only Danielle Fishel and Ben Savage are going to be 2 of the main characters. They aren't going to make it exactly like boy meets world. The others from boy meets world might make guest appearances but not as a main role. They are focusing on Cory and Topanga's Teenager Daughter

They are prob airing it on Disney because of the kid fanbase. Would be better if they stuck it on ABC with Last Man Standing/ Malibu Country like a TGIF they did back in the 90's

  33. QUESTION:
Some help with this casting call?
So I heard they're casting feature roles for the new and upcoming movie 'Tomorrowland'.
I've read everywhere that they're looking for a girl who can play 10-11 years of age, which I think I can do.
But I'm not new to acting. I know all about how I need a good résumé and all that. I have headshots, but I have barely any experience. But still, it says if you are interested to mail a basic résumé and headshot to a certain address.
    What should I do?
By the way, I'm 13 not 11. But a lot of people say I could look 11.

    • ANSWER:
From what I can tell the filming is going to be in Canada - so all children/teens and non-Candadian citizens have to be eligible to work in Canada:

      http://www.featurefilmcasting.com/2013/03/walt-disney-pictures-casting-two.html

If you're eligible to work in Canada - then go for it. If you're not eligible, then you'll need to deterine if the work needed to become eligible is worth the chances.

  36. QUESTION:
If Walt Disney were still alive today, would he be puking to see what his beloved company has become?
    Past (1937 - 1994) we had movies/shows like

Snow White and the Seven dwarfs
    Cinderella
    Sleeping Beauty
    Pinochio
    Bambi
Beauty and the Beast (Second Best Disney Film)
    The Little Mermaid
    Aladdin (Third best Disney film)
    Lady and the Tramp
    The Aristocats
    101 Dalmations
    Lion King (The Best)
    etc.

Then it went to (1995 - 2004) when we had still pretty good movies like

    Pochahontas
    A Goofy Movie
    Toy Story
    Bug's Life
    Toy Story 2
    Hercules
    Huntchback of Notre Dame
    The Emperor's New Groove
    Dinosaur
    Monsters Inc.
    Lilo and Stitch
POTC: Curse of the Black Pearl
Home on the Range (was okay)
Brother Bear (was a really good movie; message sent to people about brotherhood)
    etc.

(2005 - present) Had some decent films but the shows on Disney Channel are the worst, (I like Zeke and Luther but the rest are terrible)

Some good films in this time period:

    Chicken Little
    Cars
Brother Bear 2 (direct to video)
    Ratatouille
    Toy Story 3
    Princess and the Frog
    Up
POP: Sands of time (was decent I liked it, it really looked like a live action of Aladdin at one point)
    Tangled
On Stranger's Tide (to me was a decent shot but people hated it for a reason, the plot was rushed)

    and that's about it now.

And now (besides Pixar of course) they never seem really interested in Fetaure animation films anymore.

The shows on Disney Channel are terrible these days I liked it better when there was good ones like That's So Raven, American Dragon Jake Long, Emperor's New School etc.

Now disney have the worst shows IMO.

I like the only thing that Disney has done in recent memory and that is the deal with the partnership with Marvel for the upcoming Avenger movies (Thor 2, Iron Man 3, Captain America: The first Avenger, and also 2013 film the Avengers. And also the Pirates of the Caribbean series and Prince of Persia were both flops but they were entertaining,

What do you think, would Walt Disney be realy angry with the direction of what the company is doing?
Walt Disney (person not the company)

    • ANSWER:
The old stuff was pretty cool I agree some of the stuff you see today is just not that classy. I dont think Walt Disney would really care though. He did what he did. If anything he might be happy cos it shows he was one of the masters and his hard work is appreciated by people like you and me

It was the "The Scorpion King" in 2002. Other movies around that time ("The Rundown" in 2003 and "Walking Tall" in 2004) gave him some extra credibility as an actor, but it was definitely "The Scorpion King" that made him a movie star.

  41. QUESTION:
Batman fans have you seen this?
    OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2013/mar/05/christian-bale-batman-justice-league

YEAH!!!!!!!!! Please let this be true!!!!!!

After the Dark Knight Rises was over, I thought it was the end.

I can't really like Marvel or Star Wars anymore. You can thank disney for that.
    EDIT

    @Rebel With a Cause

If you want a terrible JL movie, fine. Just don't try to ruin others' spirit.

I know the JL movie will be terrible if this Batman isn't in it. I knew it. I knew someone would hate this idea.

It wouldn't ruin anything. Batman in this movie will blow everyone away.
Let me put it this way.

Would you want an actor who is terrible at playing one of the best superheroes ever, ooooooor, an actor who has experience playing Batman.

I would really want to see this Batman in it. Not some cop. Huuh, pathetic.
The advantages far outweigh the liabilities in this case.

I would want to see this Batman in the JL movie.

Think about it. Everyone would want too see him.

Its either this, or no JL movie.

    • ANSWER:
      1. It would ruin the ending of The Dark Knight Rises

      2. The trilogy, which is suppose to be realistic, won't work in a world with aliens and superpowered heroes.

      3. Nolan has repeatedly said in the last year, he is in no way involved with a Justice League film

      4. If Warner Bros does want to link TDKR with Man of Steel, John Blake will be Batman, not Bruce Wayne.

      EDIT: http://whatculture.com/film/justice-league-movie-10-reasons-nolan-bale-shouldnt-do-it.php/1

Besides, Nolan's Bruce Wayne would be in his 40s by the time TDKR ends. It is unlikely he can continue to be Batman, especially with a damaged knee, a broken spine, and years of injuries. Wayne deserves a rest.

  43. QUESTION:
Anyone miss the old disney channel? Why does Disney Channel suck now?

    • ANSWER:
The old Disney Channel is the best. Disney Channel has sucked since when Hannah Montana first aired.

I miss the old Disney Channel shows like House of Mouse, New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, etc.

My favorite Disney movies are Peter Pan, Bambi, Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Lion King, Dumbo, and Robin Hood.

I remember when Disney Channel used to show classic Disney films likes Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Peter Pan, Bambi, Lady and the Tramp, etc.

Now Disney Channel nowadays is a disaster because of those pitiful teen shows on Disney Channel from 2006-present are taking over Disney Channel. The crap teen shows of today even teach kids how to think that they are not kids anymore. The gay teen shows of today are teaching innocent little children how to do things that can get kids in so much trouble. Kids of 2013-2019 will know nothing about what we had over 12 years ago.
Disney Channel used to be amazing.

  44. QUESTION:
Are you interested in this Animation Competition?
    Dear Animators,

This is an exciting animation commission opportunity and competition for any animators that would like to produce the visuals for a fun, catchy song and humorous 2 minute music video.

    ANIMATION STYLE:
There are very few limitations to the look and style of the animation; i believe in leaving some creative space for the animator to "do their thing". For example, this could end up being Hand Drawn, CG, 2D, 3D, Traditional, Flash, or Stop-Motion. It doesn't have to be complex either - as long as the visuals express the mood, lyrics, setting and characters of the song. You might draw on influences from Crazy Frog, The Duck Song, Wallace and Gromit, Pingu, Walt Disney, Tom and Jerry, Happy Feet or The Family Guy etc. Above all, this is supposed to be a fun project to work on and a nice way to experiment with creativity.

    CHARACTERS and PLOT:
There are two main characters. (Separate audio tracks for each character can be provided if you are able to lip sync.). Both characters are Penguins located in Antarctica. Fred is a small cheeky and cocky penguin whilst Uncle Bill is a big, old, simple minded yet extroverted penguin. (The lyrics will also give you a feel for the characters, their expressions and plot).

    MUSIC:
I am a professional British Music Composer, I have a BA (Hons) Music degree and an MA in Film and Television Composition (London). I have performed for the Queen of England and written music for hundreds of international television commercials, numerous animation series and orchestrated music for game consoles. Clients and credits include: Coca Cola, Kidsco, Walt Disney, KFC, Mars, Sony, XBox and Panasonic. I currently have 2632 Youtube subscribers and over 1,496,209 video views. Please have a look at my website and Youtube channel for more information about me.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled animator, or enthusiastic student, looking for experience whilst adding invaluable content to their demo reel. I have been working on the music, lyrics and recording for some time now. It's finally ready! I have contacts in the film, television and audio industry - this will be great exposure; you never know who might see our work.

    BUDGET:
The budget for this commission is small because it is self funded but the winner will receive full credit, exposure, use on their showreel and (USD) or £50 (GBP) (or equivalent currency depending on the applicants country of residence and the exchange rate at the time of payment).

    SUBMISSION DATE and RULES:
Submit animation on or before 1st April 2013. Please send a link to your submission via email. Please DO NOT send any large attachments. There are plenty of free sites that will host and store files for free (eg. Dropbox, Skydrive, YouSendIt etc.)

    WINNER:
The winner will be notified and rewarded before the winning animation is uploaded on 8th April 2013 onto my Youtube Channel and shared on Facebook, Blogger, Twitter etc. with the synchronized music track.

    PLEASE NOTE:
All animation visuals must be original material created by you and should not infringe on other publisher's content. The judging is based on originality and creativity in relation to the audio track and lyrics provided.

You can have a look at some of my work on either my website or YouTube channel here:

    DOWNLOAD LINK:
If you are interested, please find the download link here for the music and lyrics: https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=2B1B937B12AB05A0!213

I'm very excited about this project and the potential it has. Let your creativity thrive!

  49. QUESTION:
Did anyone watch the 1979 movie, 'The Black Hole?'?
What's a movie that is similar to that movie?
What were the good effects in the movie? (Keep in mind that the movie was shot nearly 30 years ago)
    Bad effects?
What would change if it was shot in 2013?

If you can't answer all the questions, but you can answer one, or two, please go ahead. The more answers the better.

    • ANSWER:
WOW, I just looked up the film, never heard of it, it looks very promising, I'm going to watch it asap. THANK YOU. Seems Disney wanted to rent equipment from Industrial Light & Magic, but they couldn't afford it lol....... but in turn Disney developed their OWN sfx stuff. very interesting historic production.

Yvette Mimieux! Max Schell, Anthony (Psycho) Perkins, Ernest Borgnine... and Roddy McDowell as the robot's voice! A bunch of great actors!! lol, it must be fun!! Thanks again!

      ------------

Well... fantastic!!! Now we know where they got the idea of the wormhole in DS9 seen thru the window! Great movie, very well done, of course for 1979! Reminds you of many later movies, even Wall-E!!! Although Vincent owed much to R2D2... lol... Loved the Black Hole sequence, very 2001-esque... A premonition of the Borg in the crew turned robots... Very wonderful ending. So many things like Forbidden Planet, Roddenberry's inspiration for Star Trek. And so many things like Star Wars,... and of course Star Trek and its later series.... and what an interesting score from John Barry!!!! Amazing.

What a great film! Thank you again!

Oh yes, I must mention Yvette Mimieux... couldn't help but see lovely Weena there all the time... :)
