Where can I find a list of Disney films?
I have a moderate collection of classic disney films but I want to know what ones I am missing. Does anyone know where I can find this info please?

Does anyone remember this Disney movie about the boogeyman?
I remember seeing it when I was little - probably the late 80s. It was a Disney film on TV. I swear it was called The Boogeyman or Mr. Boogeymand, or there was a boogyeman in it and I remember something about a Black Widow. No one else remembers it!

    • ANSWER:
I think you are talking about Mr. Boogedy (1986) that was on ABC on sunday night it was quite scary at the time, here is a web-site that will tell you about it.

      and movie poster http://www.flixster.com/movie/mr-boogedy

There was a sequel to it called Bride of Boogedy (1987) that also aired on ABC on sunday night. Those are the ones that aired in the late 1980's

But if you are talking about the movie Don't Look Under The Bed that aired in 1999 on the Disney channel that had the Boogeyman in it then here is the site for you to see the poster of it.

Well I hope this helped, enjoy! *Jena

A cartoon film about environmental contamination?
I watched this film quite often in the 90s or so and I barely remember it. It was about some wood critters (I think) and the humans were destroying their home by polluting it with chemicals and stuff. The animals were trying to escape, etc. I'm not sure if it's a Disney film but the drawings were like it. Just don't say for some reason that it's Bambi.

Anyway, it was a sad film for me back then and if you know which it is that I'm talking about, I'll be forever grateful.

      Once Upon A Forest

What was that movie that Disney always played on Halloween in the 90s?

*Edit, could it be ''Witch's Night Out'' ? According to wiki:
Like the earlier special, Witch's Night Out was produced by John Leach and Jean Rankin for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. It later aired on the Disney Channel every year from 1983 to the late 1990s along with The Halloween That Almost Wasn't, The Worst Witch, The Canterville Ghost, Mr. Boogedy, Halloween Is Grinch Night, Disney's Halloween Treat/A Disney Halloween, Casper's Halloween Special, and Raggedy Ann and Andy in The Pumpkin Who Couldn’t Smile.

Who wrote the song for Walt Disney Pictures intro?
The one that stars in the sky, then comes around in front of the castle. It's in the beginning in all Disney films.

    • ANSWER:
"When You Wish upon a Star" is a song written by Leigh Harline and Ned Washington for Walt Disney's 1940 adaptation of Pinocchio. The original version of the song was sung by Cliff Edwards in the character of Jiminy Cricket and is heard over the opening credits and again in the final scene of the film. The song has since become the theme song to The Walt Disney Company.

What is the name of this children's film company that produces animated shorts?
I know this is vague, but I remember when I was little watching these animated short films that weren't made by any large company. I always sorted them in my memory with the Rankin Bass films. I don't remember much, but I remember the logo being painted out in primary colors and that is was an acronym. I distinctly remember it starting with an "F" and I think there could have been an "I" or "L", possibly an "E." It was also all lowercase. Does anyone have any ideas?

The animation was cheap quality compared to companies like Disney.

What cartoon movie was when a boy and a bear went to the sky and met other animal gods?
it was an old movie and i think it was shown in disney or cartoon network. it was more on god kind of story and a little boy. it happened during night time. when the boy was riding at the bak of the polar bear and they went to the sky and met other gods.

    • ANSWER:
I'm not really sure since i can't remember the entirety of this film but could you be referring to "Brother Bear?"

It was produced by Disney. It is about a boy who got transformed into a bear after he killed a bear to avenge his brother's death.

There were god-like spirits on the film who continually watch over the mortals below.

I think there was a scene where the main bear (the by-turned bear) and his adopted brother bear (the actual bear) were watching an aurora (natural light displays in the sky, usually observed at night, particularly in the polar zone.)

What's the difference between an amateur film and an independent film?
Just wondering.... Many first time Directors (like Kevin Smith) started out by making an independent film.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clerks#Reception Many others (like Peter Jackson) has started out with making amateur films.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Valley_(film) BEST ANSWER GETS 5 POINTS

    • ANSWER:
Amateur Film is the low-budget hobbyist art of film practiced for passion and enjoyment and not for business purposes.

The technical definition of the phrase independent film is: any movie that was funded with less than 50% of money that came from one of the "big six" major film studios, which are Columbia Pictures (MGM and UA), 20th Century Fox, Walt Disney Pictures/Touchstone Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures, Paramount Pictures and Universal Studios.

What aspects of high school musical 1 actually occur in high school?

      Really? really?

There are actually "cliques" in high school, problems of peer pressure, and mean kids who try to cause trouble just because they can. The movie and show also shot footage in actual school buildings--so you have an actual gym and stuff! And of course, high school basketball team's top player is a white boy who leads his team in elaborate musical numbers on the basketball court! This actually happens all the time! According to Disney--and they wouldn't lie!

What are some movies centered around ranches?

What is is teenage Disney movie that was on quite a while ago?

It wasn't animated and I remember in the beginning they were taking tests and i think someone lost their wand or something so they were stuck in a building. And a kid travels to different parts of the world either using the wand or using the help of a fairy. Sorry I'm being vague. I think I saw this movie over 10 years ago so I can't really describe much.

    • ANSWER:
      A Simple Wish (1997)
starring Martin Short, Mara Wilson, Robert Pastorelli, Amanda Plummer, Kathleen Turner, Ruby Dee, Teri Garr
      Wikipedia summary excerpt:
The film begins with many fairy godmothers taking an exam,. Among them is one male fairy godmother. After a few hours of unsuccessfully trying to copy the others' exams in order to pass his own more quickly, Murray eventually finishes. Three months, we see park carriage driver Oliver Greening. After an accident with his horse, he picks up his daughter and son, Annabel and Charlie, from school, whereupon Oliver must go to his audition for a musical based on "A Tale of Two Cities".

"Father! I hate being forced into this! If I do marry... I want it to be for love."

What do you think star wars ep. 7 will be about ?? and what do you think its going to be like animated or not?
Its been awhile since Disney bought lucus films and the star wars franchise . I just want an outlook of your perspective of how star wars ep. 7 and 8 &9 will be about and how you think it will be . Im a star wars nerd and fan i just want to know your answes :)

    • ANSWER:
For one, it will not be animated. Are you aware that the majority of Disney's movies are not animated?

The next 3 Star Wars Episodes are about the rebuilding of the Republic and the Jedi Order with Luke as the Master Jedi, AND it's mainly about Han/Leia's & Luke's kids, AND it's set 40yrs after Episode 6. So, Mark Hamill (and the rest) can still play their original characters because they are the same age now as the characters are.

Personally, I think it would be a crime to not have the original three actors in it. You can read the plot here http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Sequel_trilogy

Is there still hope for traditional animation?
I'm considering going into the field of animation (traditional animation in particular), but from what it appears, computer animation seems to be the more dominant division of animation. I've also heard rumors that Disney plans on producing only computer animated films in the future. Is this true?

    • ANSWER:
You should definitely go into it if that's what you want to do. There is still plenty of work available in it - even though not many feature films are being made using it at the moment, 2D animated cartoons still dominate television (and always will, I think), anime is absolutely huge, and there's a lot of future in web animation as well. 2D computer animation is becoming popular, so if you learn that as well as hand-drawn animation, you shouldn't have any problems.

Disney did make that decision but have since overturned it. I strongly feel that traditional animation is on the verge of an enormous comeback. Disney's traditionally animated classics continue to be the most popular animated films of all time (Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin etc) and consumers are quite sick of CG animated movies with funny animals at this point. The next Disney traditionally animated movie, The Princess and the Frog, is due out next year, a classic musical produced by the same people that produced Aladdin and The Little Mermaid (wiki link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Princess_and_the_Frog ). If it is even half as good as either of the aforementioned, it will be absolutely massive, as people are longing for another movie like this - and more will follow its success. :) You may just find you entered the industry at exactly the right moment.

Alternatively, you could study computer animation, but if you prefer the traditional way, that's what you should do - animation is hard work and you need to love it, so you need to choose what it is you most love over everything else.

      Good luck!

However, productions and CDs of Tarzan, Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, Lion King and Hunchback of Notre (in German) are currently available. Also, productions of Aladdin and Dumbo seem to be in the works too!

Why was pinocchio so popular in 1940 when the disney movie came out?
This is for a project. I cant find this information, can someone tell me:

was there any link between the war and the popularity of the movie.
Why has the movie continued to be popular?

    • ANSWER:
According to Wikipedia, the movie was initially not much of a success due to the war and a delayed release. But people, I think, came to empathize with Pinocchio wanting to better himself, not only for himself, but for his "family".
The main song "When You Wish Upon a Star" really resonates with people as a song that expresses a yearning for your deepest heart's wish to come true. Which I guess also would make it popular in the aftermath of the Great Depression and then World War II. (my take on it)

What was your homeschooling experience like? How many years did you homeschool?
I have been homeschooled for 5 years. This question is for homeschoolers and former homeschoolers only.

    • ANSWER:
This is my 2nd year of home schooling and my last year of school. I graduate this year (2009-2010). I can tell you, It is a trillion times better than Public School. I never want to go back to Public School. A few people said I'd regret leaving But I don't regret it one bit, In fact I wish I could have left a lot sooner. Since I have been home schooled I have never been happier. I wish I could have been home schooled my whole life. I hated every second of Public School & I'm glad I don't have to go to it anymore. I wasn't thankful for it then & I'm not thankful for it now. Home schooling you can be yourself while in Public School they'll try to change you. Public School you can't be yourself.

Being home schooled you have many more benefits, such as More Free Time, More Freedom, No Peer Pressure, No getting up Super Early, No being told what you should & shouldn't like, I can go on forever with pros of home schooling. I love home schooling so much. No more Peer Pressure, No more Stress, No more Rumors, No more being told what I should & shouldn't like. It's a dream come true.

I have so much Freedom, I don't even know what to do with it. I highly doubt a lot of people go to their High School Reunions & I highly doubt a lot of home school individuals wish that they can go to Public School. Why? So they can get bullied & hurt all the time? Whatever.

I'm pretty sure college will be much better & with nicer people.
In Public School, If you don't like what most of the students like or if you like or do something different from them, You're automatically an outsider or whatever they make up according to them. Really Stupid.

Like at the school I used to attend, If you're a guy & you like Disney, Animated Films/ TV Shows, The Golden Girls, Anime, Hannah Montana, Nickolodeon or Dancing. You're automatically gay according to them. Really Stupid. I'm pretty sure there's more things But I don't know. They'll also try to make up false rumors about the things you like to try & make attempts to get you to stop liking it.

Like for me, They kept trying to tell me a bunch of lies about Walt Disney, Saying he was related to Hitler & that he hated Jews & White People. Also saying that he & Hitler are brothers. Really Stupid. Too add, It's like it's against the law at that school for a guy to like those things that I listed. Home schooling you can be yourself & like whatever you want. In Public School, If you try to be yourself, There's a good chance the students will try & change you anyway they can.

Like I said, I never want to go back to Public School, If I did, I might as well commit a crime & get locked up in San Quentin, Folsom or Sing Sing. Or I might as well Highjack a plane & crash it in to Mt. Everest, Mt. Etna, Mt. Mckinley, Mt. Vesuvius, Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Saint Helens or any mountain you can think of. Or I might as well Highjack a plane, Fly it to some country on South America, Jump in the Amazon River & get eaten & attacked by Piranhas. Or do that same thing, Fly it to some country on Africa, Jump in the Nile River & drown in the Nile or get eaten & attacked by whatever sea creatures inhabit the Nile.

Also In Public School, Teachers expect way too much from you. Like I said. I love home schooling & I have never been happier. If I was still going to Public School. I'd probably be dead already or I'd be phoning a suicide hotline like crazy. Google Kids who were bullied to death or People who killed themselves because of bullying.

What is the song at the very beginning of Disney's original Cinderella?

    • ANSWER:
According to wikipedia this is the list of songs from the 1950 Disney movie:

"Cinderella" - The Jud Conlon Chorus
"A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes" - Cinderella
"Oh, Sing Sweet Nightingale" - Drizella, Cinderella
"The Work Song" - The Mice

What are some connections to Alice in Wonderland in other films, music, books, etc?
I am doing a project for my English Literature class and I am trying to find relationships between AIW and anything else in pop culture, but it's hard to find connections when you don't know what you're looking for. I do know about the connection with The Matrix, but anything else would be really helpful!

    • ANSWER:
Do adaptations count? Wikipedia has an extensive list of adaptations: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice's_Adventures_in_Wonderland#Adaptations

Here is a list of stuff based on Alice in Wonderland: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Works_based_on_Alice_in_Wonderland

And if it isn't mentioned anywhere in there... the film Pan's Labyrinth is very much related, and while not strictly an adaptation or retelling of AIW, there are many similar themes, scenes... notice even the girl wears similar clothing to those worn by Alice (at least in the Disney movie).

Also, apparently "sweet Lolita" fashion makes references to Alice in Wonderland all the time: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lolita_fashion#Sweet_Lolita

Hopefully that will at least give you somewhere to start.

What speech is it that Disney Pixar uses in the beginning of the short film Day and Night.?

What are the best children or family movies you have ever seen?
My big sister knows a movie store owner and he asked her for a movie list of movies she wanted. So far we have: Shrek 3, Coraline, The Corpse Bride, Avatar, and Up. Please if you have anymore good movies please write and tell me them!! Thx! <3

    • ANSWER:
Some of the most critically acclaimed modern children's movies include Spirited Away, Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Howl's Moving Castle, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and James and the Giant Peach.

I myself would recommend The Sandlot (1993), one of my favorite movies growing up, about a group of young baseball-loving boys in the 1960s. It's hilarious and charming, and extremely under-rated (in my opinion as a film student). It only has a 57% positive documented reviews, but I can assure you that anyone would love this film!
A few more of my personal recommendations include The Road to El Dorado, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (THE ORIGINAL), Tarzan, and Pocahontas.

You should review the Disney Renaissance films! Do that here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disney_Renaissance
Also, here are the ten Pixar films, all extremely popular: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Pixar_films

At the bottom of this page, the British Film Institute (similar to the American Film Institute) made their list of 50 Best Children's Films that you can see here: http://www.filmsite.org/100kidsfilms2.html
And here is the New York Times' list of 100 Best Children's Films: http://www.filmsite.org/100kidsfilms.html
