  5. QUESTION:
    How much does a trip to Mazatlan Sinaloa Mexico cost?
    If it is 4 people and includes hotel, and food. How much would it be? And also how much would the plane be if we are flying from Durango Mexico to Mazatlan Sinaloa Mexico? Debating on whether to go to Puerto Vallarta or Mazatlan! Thanks!
    :)

    • ANSWER:
      My vote goes to Mazatlan... but please, let me elaborate....

      (I know Vallarta, Cabo, San Carlos, Manzanillo, among other Northern Pacific Beaches, and they are all pretty cool places in their own right, but let me say this, out of the bunch, i moved to Mazatlan....)

      How much would the trip cost, well, It depends on many factors...

      Let's start with "GETTING THERE". As with most flights and hotel rooms, most rates depend on two things, 1.- whether you'll be traveling during a holiday/high season date, or on a regular, low season interval of dates; and 2.- How much in advance do you book your flight/hotel room....

      But fear not, cool thing about Mazatlan is that is has a several options, for all the budgets and tastes...

      You can golf, surf, hike, go sportsfishing, indulge in world class spas, fine-dine, pub-crawl, work on your tan, like you can on most other beach destinations, and still not break the bank....

      Mazatlan also offers many other activities to fill your TO DO list, that no other beach does....

      Here they are, in no particular order, a list of activities that make Mazatlan a unique destination.

      1.- Very few things compare to having a Nieve de Con Medrano (Garrafa-style Ice cream) and Find out why, after 50 years they are still the locals` favourites... Our pick: the plum (ciruela) and vanilla combination!" Note: You can find the little ice cream cart in downtown mazatlan behind City Hall...

      2.- Take a tour to the historic Pacifico Brewery, and find out how the world famous Pacifico beer is made." Oh, and the free samples at the end only make the trip that much sweeter...

      3.- Surf the evening glass at Playa Bruja...

      4.- Get spoiled rotten at Nautica Costa Bonita´s Santuario spa... THE definition of pampering....

      5.- Birdwatching at el Yugo's estuary...!

      6.- Hike up the Lighthouse Hill; the second tallest in the world. Breathtaking views of the city!!!"

      7.- Pub-Crawlin' in Old-Downtown's great mix of nice little bars, cafes and restaurants...

      8.- It´s Mahi-Mahi time!!" Spend your morning fishing for Dorados, then have family and friends, over for a great cook-out! There you can treat them both to the freshest dinner, and/or the best fisherman´s tales over a couple of Pacificos...

      9.- Race your friends to see who can raise a waist-high sand castle faster at Playa Bruja... (then then let your inner-child play Godzilla..

      10.- Enjoy the foot-long 'Criminal-Quesadillas', a few blocks South from Valentino's, after a big night-out, just before heading back home... while discussing 'The Hangover 2' movie...

      11.- Skinny-Dipping at Bird Island... hey, we only live once, right...? (I´ve been told it´s lots of fun...)

      12.- Swim with the sharks!!!" Come, visit the Aquarium..." Those who've done that before, may want to drop by again, many new, cool additions, like -you guessed- the Shark Tank!

      13.- Visit the Cathedral"... Regardless of your beliefs, you can admire this beautiful XIX century church, combines several architectural styles and it´s a trip on its own...

      If your there for more than a few days:

      14.- Going up to Concordia just for the Burnt Milk-Shaved Ice Slushies.... then stay for the day window-shopping the rustic furniture shops..."

      15.- Visit the DIF Camp by Cerritos Beach, and help release hundreds of baby sea turtles." Wildlife Preservation efforts are being done all over, you too can help, and have fun in the process..

      16.- Skating downhill on Paseo del Centenario... Sidewalk surfing taken to new heights...!

      17.- Watch time slow down, and the world smile, sitting at one of Plazuela Machado´s cafes... and fancy yourself the next Hemingway...

      And if the timing is right, and you picked the right season...

      18.- Meteor Showers on cloudless nights, over by Delfin Beach....", When the elements permit, and stars are aligned, nothing else compares... Check with your favourite weatherman...

      19.- The Dia de la Musica street festival", Enjoy a taste of all music genres on different stages, all over Old Downtown. Tonight, live perfomances by local artists, experts on their fields, a feast for your ears...!

      20.- Root for your favourite winter-sport's team wearing a hawaiian shirt, shorts and sandals!!!". Enjoy the NBA Finals, or the NHL playoffs with a cold Pacifico beer, in one of Mazatlan´s many beachside restaurants. Our recommendations: The Fish Market, Diego´s, Munchkins, and/or the Dugout... GO CANUCKS!!!

      21.- A Venados home game! (Mazatlan´s AAA league baseball team...)... Think a MLB game, if it was conceived by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and narrated by the Farreli´s brothers...

      22.- Be taken by Delfos` newest coreographic creation at the Angela Peralta Theater...

      23.- Carnaval!!! Join the whole town and ask Mazatlan to dance on Mardi Gras...

      Never a dull moment in Mazatlan!!!

      Have a safe trip, and hope this helps!

  7. QUESTION:
    Can someone tell me anything about godzilla?
    Hello yahoo people. I ask you today, what are the origins of godzilla. I bought G a MG and its pretty good. but how many Godzillas are there! If you are a huge fan and can answer this please do, and how did Japan's Godzilla reach New York?

    Oh and if you have a list of monsters please could you write all the ones you know (relating to Godzilla) I'm on a Godzilla madness.

    • ANSWER:
      Ok, first: I freaking love Godzilla. Grew up watching the giant monster.

      As for your question regarding the origin of Godzilla, do you mean how was Godzilla the creature created according to the movies or how Toho came up with Godzilla?
      The first Godzilla movie came out not long after WWII, I believe it was in 1954. So Godzilla the creature was a result of the nuclear testing. Basicly the first movie was literally a warning of the dangers of nuclear testing. If you haven't seen that one you really should, it's a total classic. When they brought it to America, in order to make it more marketable, they actually filmed additional scenes with that guy who played Perry Mason. He was an American reporter in Japan who gets caught up in the first appearance of Godzilla. Perry Mason also shows up in Godzilla 1985 (I believe it was 1985), which that movie has a hilarious short cartoon at the beginning called "Godzilla vs Bambi". If you are referring to how Godzilla the movie came to be, that would take a little more research really...

      There are currently 28 Godzilla movies:
      * Godzilla (1954)
      * Godzilla Raids Again (1955)
      * King Kong Vs. Godzilla (1962)
      * Godzilla Vs. Mothra (1964)
      * Ghidrah, the Three-Headed Monster (1964)
      * Godzilla Vs. Monster Zero (1965)
      * Godzilla Vs. the Sea Monster (1966)
      * Son of Godzilla (1967)
      * Destroy All Monsters (1968)
      * Godzilla's Revenge (1969)
      * Godzilla Vs. Hedorah (1971)
      * Godzilla Vs. Gigan (1972)
      * Godzilla Vs. Megalon (1973)
      * Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla (1974)
      * Terror of Mechagodzilla (1975)
      * Godzilla 1985 (1985)
      * Godzilla Vs. Biollante (1989)
      * Godzilla Vs. King Ghidorah (1991)
      * Godzilla & Mothra: The Battle for Earth (1992)
      * Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla II (1993)
      * Godzilla Vs. Spacegodzilla (1994)
      * Godzilla Vs. Destoroyah (1995)
      * Godzilla 2000: Millennium (2000)
      * Godzilla Vs. Megaguirus (2000)
      * Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack (2001)
      * Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla (2002)
      * Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. (2003)
      * Godzilla: Final Wars (2004)

      Also with the New York thing. Are you referencing Matthew Broderick's Godzilla from 1998, or the one from Toho where Godzilla actually was in New York? He was in New York in the real Godzilla movies only one time, I believe it was in Destroy All Monsters in 1968. An alien race had taken over all the monsters minds and were making them attack various places, everyone was shocked to see Godzilla in New York, it was pretty fun. Anyway, I believe he just traveled through the water for that... It's been ages since I've seen that movie, but Godzilla is an aquatic creature. Little known fact, his Japanese name is actually a combination of the Japanese words for "gorilla" and "whale", "gorira" and "kujira" respectively... for a combination of Gojira.

      As for the Matthew Broderick "Godzilla"... that's not a Godzilla movie. Most hardcore Godzilla fans do not recognize that movie as a real Godzilla movie. It's just a giant lizard that they didn't know what to call it... But I believe it was nuclear testing that caused their giant monster, so it was a completely different monster, not the Godzilla we know and love.
      In fact I believe it was Godzilla 2000: Millennium, they actually say something about how America thought that Godzilla had attacked them, but it wasn't really him... I can't remember how it went exactly...

    • ANSWER:
      man, i agree with you. YOURE the one with GOOD taste in movies. your wife has horrible taste! i hate all those douch-bag so-called "comedians" that everyone seems to think are so damn funny. and they just keep recycling the same lame comedies. And i absolutly despise the horrible spoofs they keep making. why do people seem to think these are funny? i just dont get it. its like those horrible SNL spin-offs they kept on making a few years ago... its like, take something that is bad, and make it even worse...oh, its just so funny to see jerks acting stupid... wow....when will it ever get old? its so ridiculous and tiresome. how about making a good movie for a change, instead of force-feeding us this same old rubbish we've seen a thousand times before? the worst part is that it continues to sell! people still like it for some insane reason! what the hell is wrong with this society anyway?

      i agree with you on this, even though i dont like *all* of the movies on your list (not a big horror fan, although i really like the romero zombie flicks). bubba-ho tep was so weird and funny. blazzing saddles is classic comedy.

      id have some different movies on my top 10, but im sure we'd have a few in common--and at least we agree that romantic comedies are lame!

  16. QUESTION:
    according to u which is the best movie among them?
    (arrange in descending order)
    1. jurassic park I
    2. avatar
    3. king kong (2005)
    4. godzilla
    5. if any other very good movie featuring giant monster in ur list u can mention

    • ANSWER:

  17. QUESTION:
    What makes something monstrous?
    We are reading Frankenstein in English class, and it is very different from all Frankenstein stereotypes we have. It makes us wonder, as we have been discussing, why do we consider the monster a monster, when it seems that Dr.Victor Frankenstein himself was the monster.

    We received a list of characters and were supposed to analyze what makes them considered monstrous by some. Then we draw our own conclusion as to what makes something monstrous. I wanted your opinion on the subject. Here is the list (in order ---which is relevant), in case it helps you decide:
    -Cookie Monster
    -Godzilla
    -Loch Ness Monster
    -Darth Vader
    -"Frankenstein's Monster" (movie version)
    -Paris Hilton
    -Trey Parker & Matt Stone, creators of “South Park”
    -World's heaviest man
    -World's tallest man
    -Joseph Merrick, “The Elephant Man”
    -Malcolm X, slain civil rights leader
    -His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI
    -Hitler
    -Donald Rumsfeld
    -Bill Clinton
    -Osama Bin Laden
    -President George W. Bush

    Like me you may not agree that all these people are monsters, but that is the point. If you don't know these people, I request you google them so you can give your best input.

    • ANSWER:
      Some of them have the typical points that defines monster.
      People put blinders on and if something or someone defies what they think is beautiful then to them it's monstrous. All things must meet the beauty requirement in order to be okay for others to view,

  18. QUESTION:
    Best Futuristic Movies?
    What are the best adventuress space movies? i wana know alot of them

    • ANSWER:
      Um. The best futuristic movies are not necessarily the best adventure space movies. I'm going to start with a movie/franchise I hate which is an adventure space series. I hate it, but while I won't give you any sort of order for movies I believe are ALL monuments, I admit it is a high point in film.

      Fred Pohl wrote that he never believed you could do science fiction without thinking until he saw Star Wars. Since he is one of Science Fiction's greatest writers and editors he should know. I do think he's wrong, here, but I think he's wrong because he does not realize how much incredible VISUAL thinking went into the Star Wars franchise. One of the things that irks me about it is that it constantly seems like ALL the thinking that goes into it is about making it LOOK better. I've cited it and my further complaints (why I don't like the story) are irrelevant here.

      Since I mentioned that first I will mention a movie which is neither space nor adventure, and would go much further down any ordered list of best futuristic movies. George Lucas's THX1138, his first film, is about a futuristic underground society which is somewhat repressive and about one man's escape from it. It is one of the most amazing visual experiences you can have. I can only call its use of a Rouault painting of Christ very witty. It stars Donald Pleasance, always a favorite actor of mine, Robert Duvall and Maggie McOmie. It was shot in San Francisco's BART system before it opened, and was apparently Star Wars's opposite in that Lucas's lavished so much on the look of the latter while with this film he acheived so much by spending so little.

      Fritz Lang's Metropolis. They first showed it to us in Junior High School (now Middle School) as a monument in film making. I still believe it. Yes the story is dated but Lang understood film. Again, no space in it.

      Aelita -- by I forget who -- is an excellent, space centered film and an early one being also from the twenties, but I would put it low on my list of best futuristic movies.

      Flesh Gordon first. I'll get to the original character lower down but there was a soft-core porn spoof of the character in the nineteen seventies, starring John Hoyt and some unknowns, which knew science fiction, the character and filmmaking so thoroughly I have to say it is the BEST FLASH GORDON ADAPTATION EVER, even if the climax (animated by Jim Danforth who joined the Star Wars team with Empire Strikes back) was a bizarre hommage to Harryhausen and Willis O'brien, where a gay statue grabs Flesh -- not dale ardent -- and carries him to the top of a skyscraper where it reenacts the conclusion of King Kong. Nothing to do with Flash Gordon but a great movie moment and hilarious.

      After Flesh gordon the best adaptation of Flash Gordon is still the Republic Serials starring Buster Crabbe. Their virtues seem modest today but really they are good movies.

      Fantastic Planet is not really a space film or an adventure, though it takes place on another planet where humans have exactly the same status as cats and dogs. Based on a novel by Stefan Wul, the great French SF writer, it is an animation designed by Roland Topor, who was a legendary designer in his own time. It pays no attention to genre conventions and a lot of people don't seem to understand that this is deliberate and it is what is so good about it.

      There are more. I want to mention Akira and the original Godzilla, but I run on so much -- Yahoo cut me off yesterday, so I'll cut myself off here.

  21. QUESTION:
    IHC 2012 thing??????????
    i came across the 2012 movie add online and it said something about a "lottery" where you can survive the apocalyptic events that's taking place in 2012. is this for real or is it a hoax? i told my friends about it and they said it's fake. but i'm just wondering if it's real or not.

    • ANSWER:
      You begin by saying it is a movie ad.
      Then, for some strange reason, you think it might be true?

      It is a movie. Fiction.

      I might agree that Roland makes very entertaining movies (Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow. even a remake of Godzilla) but it is not as if he bothers with whether the story is even possible.

      If you "enter" your name (and email address) in the lottery, Sony Pictures will send you more ads about their movies, including -- they claim -- the date and place where the movie 2012 opens "in a theater near you".

      I'll give you a hint: they have carefully chosen a "Friday the 13th" in the Fall of 2009.

      ---

      Despite its title, the movie is really about the 2003 end-of-the-world hoax (the one for which Planet X was originally invented). They added the Mayan calendar lie in order to justify the title (calling the movie "2003" would not work at the box office).

      In the original 2003 hoax, the charlatans claimed that aliens were coming to rescue some of us (the aliens did not have enough room in their spacecrafts to save the entire human race).

      For a suitable donation, the charlatans would get your name on the aliens' rescue list.

      The movie could not use such an obvious fraud, so the movie makers invented the IHC and the lottery idea. There are still spacecrafts involved in the movie.

      ---

      The idea that the Mayan calendar ends was invented for a book sold in the 1990s by a dude who claimed to be a descendant of Mayan priests.

      The real Mayans left writings where they use their calendar well beyond the date we call 4000. Obviously, the real Mayans expected neither the world nor their calendar to end in 2012.

      The Planet X charlatans (the ones who made up the 2003 hoax) recycled their hoax and created the Big 2012 Hoax. They used the date from the other dude and they added the idea that the end-of-the-Mayan-calendar was a "prediction" of the end-of-the-world.

      They also invented the other "predictions" about 2012, like Nostradamus (he never wrote anything about 2012).

  22. QUESTION:
    Best summer in mexico?
    I know Mexico is a big big country , (but forgetting about the problems over there.) I think is a good place and nice ppl because I when for 2months and it was awesome place I didn't want to come back to NYC

    • ANSWER:
      Though i´ll always have a spot in my heart for places like Cabo, San Blas, Manzanillo and San Carlos, my vote would have to go to Mazatlan...

      Besides the obligatory beach destination options/requirements, Mazatlan´s town and surroundings offer many options to make the most out of your trip...

      Here´s a few things i´d put on my TO-DO-List when visiting the Pacific Pearl (in no particular order)

      6.- Be taken by Delfos` newest coreographic creation at the Angela Peralta Theater...

      7.- Hike up the Lighthouse Hill; the second tallest in the world. Breathtaking views of the city!!!"

      8.- Going up to Concordia just for the Burnt Milk-Shaved Ice Slushies.... then stay for the day window-shopping the rustic furniture shops..."

      9.- Pub-Crawlin' in Old-Downtown's great mix of nice little bars, cafes and restaurants...

      10.- It´s Mahi-Mahi time!!" Spend your morning fishing for Dorados, then have family and friends, over for a great cook-out! There you can treat them both to the freshest dinner, and/or the best fisherman´s tales over a couple of Pacificos...

      11.- Race your friends to see who can raise a waist-high sand castle faster at Playa Bruja... (then then let your inner-child play Godzilla..

      12.- Enjoy the foot-long 'Criminal-Quesadillas', a few blocks South from Valentino's, after a big night-out, just before heading back home... while discussing 'The Hangover 2' movie...

      13.- Skinny-Dipping at Bird Island... hey, we only live once, right...? (I´ve been told it´s lots of fun...)

      14.- Visit the DIF Camp by Cerritos Beach, and help release hundreds of baby sea turtles." Wildlife Preservation efforts are being done all over, you too can help, and have fun in the process..

      15.- Skating downhill on Paseo del Centenario... Sidewalk surfing taken to new heights...!

      16.- Swim with the sharks!!!" Come, visit the Aquarium..." Those who've done that before, may want to drop by again, many new, cool additions, like -you guessed- the Shark Tank!

      17.- Meteor Showers on cloudless nights, over by Delfin Beach....", When the elements permit, and stars are aligned, nothing else compares... Check with your favourite weatherman...

      18.- Visit the Cathedral"... Regardless of your beliefs, you can admire this beautiful XIX century church, combines several architectural styles and it´s a trip on its own...

      21.- Watch time slow down, and the world smile, sitting at one of Plazuela Machado´s cafes... and fancy yourself the next Hemingway...

      22.- A Venados home game! (Mazatlan´s AAA league baseball team...)... Think a MLB game, if it was conceived by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and narrated by the Farreli´s brothers...

      23.- Carnaval!!! Join the whole town and ask Mazatlan to dance on Mardi Gras...

      And the list could go on and on.... Never a dull moment in Mazatlan, i tell you...
      Saludos,
      Cayo

  25. QUESTION:
    What is PA's mean?
    PAs needed for commercial shoot ? What does PA's mean?

    • ANSWER:
      Parental Advisory

      Parental Advisory is a message affixed by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) to audio and video recordings in the United States containing offensive language and/or content. Albums began to be labeled for "explicit lyrics" in 1985, after pressure from the Parents Music Resource Center. In 1990, the PMRC worked with the RIAA to standardize the label, creating the now-familiar black and white design. To some, it has become known as the "Tipper sticker" because of Tipper Gore's visible role in the PMRC.

      Some politicians have tried to criminalize the sale of explicit records to minors, and others have gone so far as to try to ban such records. Certain retailers refuse to sell albums containing the label, and many others limit the sale of such albums to adults only, although, most stores have settled on an age limit of 17 in order to buy an album containing the label. While the label is most prevalent on heavy metal, dance pop, alternative rock, punk and, especially, hip-hop/rap albums, it can appear on any genre of CD which the RIAA believes warrants the need for one.

      Although many retailers use the sticker as a criterion for censorship, whether or not to use the sticker is determined by the record company that publishes the album. Many albums with very few instances of strong profanity or one instances of violence and sexual situations in lyrics, have a "parental advisory" sticker, (Examples include Janet Jackson's All for You and Damita Jo, Nirvana's Incesticide and In Utero, Godsmack's Awake, and Justin Timberlake's FutureSex/LoveSounds among others.), although albums with multiple uses of explicit language may not. It is not a rating. There are no true standards for a parental advisory label. It is totally up to the record company whether an album needs one or not. Just because an album has a parental advisory label, doesn't mean that it is any more explicit than an album that does not have that label. For instance, the punk rock group NOFX has largely avoided the Parental Advisory sticker (though their albums contain many profanities) because they are published on the independent label, Fat Wreck Chords. Other independent artists avoid the label such as Modest Mouse as well as Negativland, and their album Escape From Noise was released on SST Records and Seeland Records, both of them independent labels. But some major label artists' CDs evade Parental Advisory, such as Maroon 5's Songs About Jane and It Won't Be Soon Before Long, Pussy Cat Dolls's PCD, Arctic Monkeys' Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not and Favourite Worst Nightmare and some movie soundtracks such as Godzilla: The Album.

      Some albums may receive Parental Advisory labels even though these albums contain no profane lyrics at all. Examples include Danzig's self-titled album, the Gorillaz' G-Sides (which only contains some drug and violence references in one song), Sum 41's Does This Look Infected? (which only has mild and infrequent profanity), Savatage's Fight for the Rock, Story of the Year's Page Avenue and Slayer's Seasons in the Abyss.

      Albums released on Sony BMG's record labels (Arista Records, Columbia Records, Jive Records, J Records, among others) that contain the PA sticker provide additional explanations of why the disc warrants the sticker. On System of a Down's Hypnotize, for instance, under the label it reads "STRONG LANGUAGE, SEXUAL + VIOLENT CONTENT". Radiohead's Hail to the Thief has a warning of the strong offensive language on inside the CD booklet, next to the listed lyrics.

      Many albums with the label have clean versions available, especially on online music stores such as iTunes or Napster.

      A few albums have a note saying that the lyrics are of an adult nature, but without the sticker: Back to Bedlam by James Blunt, Jimmy Buffett's Live in Hawaii, Guns N' Roses's "The Spaghetti Incident?", Savatage's Gutter Ballet and Overseer's Wreckage. However, Back To Bedlam only contains two uses of explicit language.

      There have been some cases of unusual use of the label. After Frank Zappa campaigned against music censorship in 1985, the sticker was attached to his next album, Jazz from Hell, because of the title of one track, "G-Spot Tornado", although the album is entirely instrumental and contains no lyrics that could be "explicit lyrics". The designation of instrumentals as taboo, however, is nothing new; in the 1960s, the "Rumble" instrumental by Link Wray was banned from some radio stations because it could supposedly incite "juvenile violence."

      There has been the observation that the stickers appear to have had the reverse effect to what was intended - the sticker can make an album more desirable (to teenagers, for example), and the sticker has been called the musical equivalent of an "alcohol content" label. The RIAA, however, officially states that "it’s not a PAL Notice that kids look for, it’s the music. Independent research shows kids put limited weight on lyrics in deciding which music they like, caring more about rhythm and melody. The PAL Notice alone isn’t enough incentive."

      The label is also seen in the United Kingdom, Portugal, Greece, Finland, the Netherlands, Brazil, Denmark, South Africa, Japan , Australia and, Canada on albums of American origin. An album with the label is automatically banned in some conservative countries, for example Malaysia. At Wal-Mart stores, only a "clean" version of the album is allowed, and if no "clean" version of the album is available, the album isn't going to be available for purchase.

      As well as that, some labels put the label on a CD, but it is placed only on the packaging, and not on the actual CD. This allows the label to be easily removed, and be confused with an album that features no explicit content. Also, sometimes the label is placed on the CD case itself and it can be easily removed as well.

      The label was also formerly used as a bumper each hour during Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block.

      The Broadway musical Avenue Q's poster spoofs the sticker saying, Parental Advisory Sticker: You Know Where You Can Stick This
