Hot Blue Film In English

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
what would happen if literature was no longer studied?
I have a really difficult english assignment about the study of literature and about the particular piece "Heart of Darkness". Any help would be really really greatly appreciated!

    • ANSWER:
What would happen if literature was no longer studied? I've thought about this a lot.

There are a lot of different arts in our society. Why do high schools teach literature over visual art, film, drama, sculpture, music, dance, or even graffiti?

Literature shapes the way we use language. Think of all the cliches or sayings that you use in a day. 'Dead as a doornail', 'solid as a rock', 'hotter than hell' - all these were created by writers. Books often influence, or at least reflect, the way we talk and think in our language.

Also, the books that our society chooses to honor by studying them are the books that enter our collective consciousness and influence the way we view our world. Imagine if you'd never had to read "Lord of the Flies" in English class. You would not have such a comprehensive view of societies in chaos, or of human relations generally. Plus, you'd never have gotten that Simpsons episode. If you'd never read "The Bluest Eye", you would not understand race relations as well as you do.

Studying literature forces us to place importance on subjects that other classes do not have the scope for. You can't learn about madness in math class, but you can in "The Bell Jar". Books, and characters, are a way for us to see how we fit into our society by giving us a sample of the types of people that populate the planet, and how they interact.

      Hope that helps.

  2. QUESTION:
Who is interested in reading books that are not Harry Potter or Twilight?
    would you read these?
Ms. Molly by Magic (read it, like it)
Terror Tales ( havent read it yet)
What are some other books, that are not the usual recommendations?

    • ANSWER:
I am. It seems that books like HP and Twi just rub me the wrong way. I can't stand hearing about them any more than seeing questions asked about them. I am mostly interested in classics like the books of Austen and Dickens but I do check out new authors of I find a plot interesting.

  11. QUESTION:
    roast beef?
how do you cook a roast beef properly , i like it to be tender but I always seem to over cook it, help as I have a boneless rib of beef for dinner today. what is the best method and how many hours per kg. my joint is 1.4 kg

    • ANSWER:
Preparation time less than 30 mins
Cooking time 30 mins to 1 hour
      serves 6
      Ingredients
1.3kg/3lb piece fore-rib of beef, on the bone
1 carrot, 1 onion and 1 leek roughly chopped
      2 tbsp Dijon mustard
      1 tsp dried thyme
      1 tsp dried basil
      2.5ml/½ tsp cayenne pepper
      1 tsp paprika
      1 tsp garlic salt
2.5ml/½ tsp dry English mustard powder
4 tbsp olive oil/ or preferably 3 tbsp of dripping (for frying the meat)
      600ml/1 pint fresh beef stock
      150ml/¼ pint red wine
3 tbsp olive oil (for cooking the vegetables)
      Method
      1. Place the thyme, basil (do not use fresh, as the recipe will not work), cayenne, paprika, garlic salt and English mustard powder into a bowl and mix to combine.
      2. Wipe the meat with damp kitchen paper and then spread a thin layer of the Dijon mustard all over the fat side of the beef (this allows the spices to stick). If you have time, wrap in cling-film and put to one side to allow the beef to marinate.
      3. Chop up the vegetables. preheat a roasting dish 200C/Gas mark 6 (choose one that's big enough to place the meat into) containing 3 tbspof olive oil. Put the vegetables into the dish and cook for 20 minutes until caramelised or lightly browned.
      4. Preheat the oven to 220C/425F/Gas8. Then heat some 4 tbspof olive oil, or 3 tbspof dripping in a large frying pan, and sear the beef for about ½ minute on all sides (be careful as the spices will give off strong aromas and will probably make your eyes water)! Place the beef into the roasting pan on top of the caramelised vegetables.
      5. Into the frying pan containing the left over juices of the meet, add the red wine and heat to burn off the alcohol. Pour into the base of the roasting pan. Also add ½ pint of beef stock.
      6. Place roasting pan with meat, vegetables and stock in a hot oven 220C/Gas mark 8 for and roast 15 minutes until well sealed.
      7. Reduce the oven temperature to 200C/Gas 6 and roast for 12 minutes per 450g/1lb for medium-rare; or 10 minutes for very rare, almost 'blue' meat and 20 -25 mins for a well done beef. Baste the roast regularly (every 10 minutes or so is perfect) during cooking with the red wine and stock to create juices for the gravy. Remove meat from the roasting dish and place on a large dish. Always allow the meat to rest for at least 10-15 minutes before carving.
      Gravy recipe
      1. Into the roasting dish containing the roasted vegetables, wine, beef stock and meat juices, add ½ pint of beef stock. Stir and cook for 5minutes.
      2. Pour the cooked ingredients into sieve, allowing the gravy sauce to seep through.
      3. Carve the meat pour over the gravy sauce and serve with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and vegetables.

  15. QUESTION:
which are the english novels worth reading??
i am 18 years old and all i have read till now is harry potter and some of shakespeare stuff. what are the best english novels i should go for now??

    • ANSWER:
listed in more or less chronological order...

      Scott's Ivanhoe
      Austen's Pride and Prejudice
Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities
Eliot's A Mill on the Floss
Hardy's Far from the Madding Crowd
      Woolf's Mrs. Dalloway
      Orwell's Animal Farm
Adams' A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
      Hornby's High Fidelity

I would recommend each of these highly with the exception of High Fidelity which I personally didn't like but which many of my friends did. If you are looking for something that isn't modern then I suggest starting with Pride and Prejudice if you are a woman, or A Tale of Two Cities if you are a man. Tale has cross gender appeal but for some reason very few men are enthused by Jane Austen. For something current, try High Fidelity. It and Hitchhiker are also the only two that aren't really serious. And by that I mean the others would be found in the Literature section as opposed to just the General Fiction in a bookshop. For something lighter (and very funny) try PG Wodehouse (either Hot Water or The Girl in Blue).

Other English writers that you may have read without realizing are:
*fantasy* Tolkien or C.S. Lewis or Brian Jacques (Redwall series)
*mystery* Agatha Christie or Ian Fleming (wrote the James Bond novels) or Arthur Conan Doyle (Sherlock Holmes)
*historical* Patrick O'Brian (the film Master and Commander was based on his books)
      *recent bestseller* Ian McEwan

      Enjoy reading!

  16. QUESTION:
what is it like living in canada?
Im thinking about moving to toronto canada from nyc,can you tell me the differences and similarities of toronto and nyc,the laws in toronto, health care, and the nightlife..? thank you

    • ANSWER:
I live in Toronto and have lived here my entire life and I've been to New York a few times. Toronto is like a much smaller version of New York in my opinion. The nightlife is great we have several really hot clubs, like; Guvernment, CIRCA, Luxy, Body English and Mink. We're also a very multicultural city! Health care is fantastic! No, it's not exactly free because you do pay for it with your taxes but it is amazing! You can go to any walk in clinic and see a doctor for nothing! The laws I would think are fairly similar to New York. We have two amazing parades that people form all over the world come to see; Caribana and Gay Pride. We also have several sports teams including The Raptors (basketball), The Leaf's (hockey) and The Blue Jay's (basbeall). Toronto also has a very large film festival (Toronto Internation Film Festival). Clearly we can't compete with Broadway, The MoMA and The Met but we do have a large artistic community in Toronto.

I suggest a vacation here before you decide to move. But it really is a nice place to live! Some of the things I love about it is the easy access to city and country life. All I have to do is hangout downtown or travel 30 minutes outside of the city and go camping, fishing, hiking etc.

One thing I HAVE to mention! It's not colder here than it would be in New York! I have met so many Americans who think it is drastically colder here but we're fairly close to the border so there isn't much a difference.

  18. QUESTION:
who's this actor whose got a big nose and says ha cha cha cha?
    1930 - 1940 i believe. keeps on saying "sunnyboy"

    • ANSWER:
      Jimmy Durante

      Born: 10 February 1893
      Birthplace: Brooklyn, New York
      Died: 29 January 1980
Best Known As: Big-nosed comedian of 1900s radio and TV
      James Francis Durante

Big-nosed and boisterous, Durante was a vaudeville favorite who remained a hit in the early days of radio and TV. Originally a saloon piano player, he combined his ragged musical talents with a rumpled charm and endless jokes about his nose, a mighty instrument which earned him the nickname "Schnozzola" or just "the Schnoz." The 1935 stage musical Jumbo paired Durante with an elephant and boosted his career; he was a popular guest on the radio shows of stars like Bob Hope and Bing Crosby, and eventually hosted his own shows as well. Durante's dese-and-dose New York accent was much parodied by impressionists of the day. He had a musical hit with the novelty tune "Inka Dinka Doo" and his famous sign-off phrase was "Goodnight, Mrs. Calabash, wherever you are."

Durante is the guy who "kicks the bucket" at the start of the 1963 film It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World... Hotbreath Houlihan, a character from Durante's radio show, was the inspiration for the nickname Hotlips Houlihan in the film and TV sitcom M*A*S*H... Durante narrated the 1960s holiday TV cartoon Frosty the Snowman... The origin of the phrase "Goodnight, Mrs. Calabash" is unknown, and Durante wouldn't say what the funny phrase meant; his first wife died in 1943 and may or may not have been the "Mrs. Calabash" referred to.

American Theater Guide: [James Francis] Jimmy Durante
Durante, [James Francis] Jimmy (1893–1980), comedian. Famed for his prominent nose which he called his “schnozzola,” his raspy voice, his fractured English, and his stiff‐kneed strut, the comic began his career in 1910 as a honky‐tonk pianist at Diamond Tony's Saloon in Coney Island. Sometime between 1919 and 1923 he formed a trio with Lou Clayton and Eddie Jackson. Their “nut” act won instant popularity, and they were invited to play Loew's State in 1926. A year later they played the Palace. From the start Durante was the center of attraction, so when the team appeared in Show Girl (1929) and The New Yorkers (1930) he was assigned important roles while his partners played bit parts. The act was disbanded in 1931, although it was frequently reunited for special appearances. Durante then appeared in Strike Me Pink (1933), Jumbo (1935), Red, Hot and Blue! (1936), Stars in Your Eyes (1939), and Keep Off the Grass (1940). At a time when much humor was increasingly biting, his humor remained sunny and he himself the butt of his sharpest digs: “There are a million good lookin' guys, but I'm a novelty.” In a typical rough and tumble antic, he sang “Wood” in The New Yorkers while cluttering the stage with every conceivable wooden object. Another favorite routine was his wild dismantling of a piano. In later years he was popular in nightclubs and films, as well as on radio and television.

      Biography

If any performer can truly be said to have carved out his own comedic turf, made a huge success out of it lasting over several decades, while completely owning that piece of turf lock, stock and barrel, then that performer would have to be Jimmy Durante. There never has been -- nor is there likely ever to be -- a stylistic school of Durante; the man and his character are of one piece and ingrained in the national consciousness to the extreme. Anyone foolish enough to start appropriating any part of his act would be immediately branded as a slavish imitator -- someone just merely 'doing Durante' -- while always being doomed to comparison with the one and only real deal "Schnozzola" and again, falling well short of the mark. On the surface, Durante's mega-success defied all commonly understood show-business laws. No one with such a gravelly voice should have been able to put over a song as well as he did. No one as ugly as him should have made as much profitable hay as he did ab

Now the man who hired him, Raymond Calitri, wants his head. When his brother, Memphis, once a great car thief, who retired a few years ago, learns of this, he comes back to town to see if he can help his brother. The only thing that will appease Calitri is if the order is fulfilled. So Memphis has to assemble his old crew, and he has to do the job in a few days. However, it's been a while since they've come back together, which is all about to change. When one of their own, Reuben Tishkoff builds a hotel with known casino owner Willy Banks, the last thing he ever wanted was to get cut out of the deal personally by the loathsome Banks. However, Danny and his crew won't stand for Banks and what he's done to a friend. Uniting with their old enemy Benedict, who himself has a vendetta against Banks, the crew is out to pull off a major plan. But driving a hack is only a pit stop for her real dream: Belle wants to be a race car champion. And she's well on her way--until she's derailed by overeager cop Andy Washburn, whose undercover skills are matched only by his total ineptitude behind the wheel. Washburn, whose lack of vehicular skills has landed him in the precinct doghouse, is hot on the heels of a gang of beautiful Brazilian bank robbers, led by Vanessa, their cold, calculating--and leggy--leader. To nab the evasive crooks, drivers license-less Washburn convinces Belle to team up with him to pursue Vanessa and crew. Belle has carte blanche to drive at any speed and break any law. The car-less cop and speed-demon cabbie--New York's unlikeliest partners-- begin a high-speed game of cat and mouse with the robbers. That is, if Belle and Washburn don't end up killing each other first.

    • ANSWER:
Tunisia is wonderful! I'm an American who moved to Tunisia almost 6 years ago and I love it.

The country is so full of history (has been under the rule of Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, Berbers, Ottomans, Beys, and French; played a significant part in WWII, was the center of the ancient world with Carthage as the capitol, etc) and it has so many beautiful places to visit! It is unlike any other Arab country in that is has a lot of greenery. There are also many historical ruins in just about every part of the country you go to.

The mountain region is breathtaking! There are fantastic views and an the atmosphere is reminiscent of an old town in Switzerland. Absolutely gorgeous! The coast is marvelous. The Sea is clear and picturesque. The midland and south are terrific because they offer you the chance to peek into a forgotten society - one that holds fast to tradition. I have been all over Tunisia and have visited most cities and have loved everyone because they each have their own special charm.

The people are so warm and hospitable. They instantly welcome you as one of their own and treat you like family.

Tunisia is also a very safe place. There are not many places in this world where a women can walk the streets alone in the middle of the night without fear. Yet I often take late night walks (around 11pm or so when I can't sleep) and have never had any problems and have never felt fearful. Tunisia on a whole is a very safe country. I have lived in Tunis and Monastir and have visited other parts of the country without any problems. There is a joke here too the between a police officer and a police officer, you find a police officer. Believe me, it's safe. We also let our children run around the marina or the cafés and don't worry about someone kidnapping them because that just doesn't happen here. It is a terrific place to raise a family - amongst safety, security, love, kindness, etc.

Some popular places to visit are:
*the multiple Star Wars filming locations
*Toezer -famous for it's use of yellow bricks and a filming location for The English Patient
*Matmata -a UNESCO world heritage site preserved for it's underground houses
      *the Sahara
*Carthage -the former capital of the ancient world
*El Jem -houses the largest in tact Romen Coliseum outside of Italy

Here is a short description of the most popular tourist destinations:

The Isle of Djerba is popular because of it's seclusion from the mainland, it's quiet and calm atmosphere, and the fact that one of the Star Wars set is on the island. Definitely a favorite for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of busy life and enjoy peace, quiet, great beaches, and nature.

Hammamet & Yassmine Hammamet (same city, but divided into two parts) is popular because it is calm, quiet, yet has a great nightlife and wonderful beaches.

Sousse (a lot of people think of Port el Kantaoui) is great because it offers lovely beaches but is still very much a bustling city with lots of shopping, food, and fun.

Monastir is another popular destination because the city is very calm and quiet with gorgeous beaches, a few good restaurants, and is only 30mins from Sousse. It is particularly nice for those who want peace and quiet during the day but want to be close to good nightlife.

From any of these popular destinations, most hotels will offer you a chance to take an excursion to see other cities and sights. You will be able to choose from going to see the Sahara, some Star Wars sets, the Roman Coliseum in El Jem, etc.

You can find anything here that you could in other countries - discos, bars, shopping, movies, theater, parks, zoos - anything.

Family is very important here - there are no homeless, although there are poor people. Everyone helps everyone else -neighbors bring food to each other, the poor can always count on someone giving them food and clothes, children are not expected to leave home as soon as they turn 18, etc.

Health care and education are also very big. The first president, Habib Bourguiba, made them top priorities when he was president. Every child MUST attend school or else their father gets in trouble with the law. You will not see cases of children being made to work to help support the family and letting their education fall to the wayside. Health care is also very affordable. 10TDN (it equals 3.89GBP, 5.73EUR, or 7.65USD) is all it takes to go to the hospital. The national health care is also set up to absorb most of the cost for those who can't afford to pay it.

Women's rights is another thing that was implemented as soon as Bourguiba became president. Tunisia was one of the first countries in the world to give women equality to men, and grant them the right to vote. It was one of the first Arab countries to allow women to seek a divorce from a man on her own accord, to work outside the home, and give them education on family planning.

The currency in Tunisia is the Tunisian Dinar (TDN). Tunisian currency is not a fully convertible currency as of yet, so therefore it can only be purchased inside of Tunisia.

Here is some conversion for you:
      1TDN = £0.39, £1=2.569TDN
      1TDN = €0.56, €1=1.778TDN
      1TDN = [FAQ-ANSWER].80, =1.258TDN

      http://finance.yahoo.com/currency

(Currency rates as of 10:31 GMT on 9 October 2007)

The way the money system works is this:

      1 Tunisian Dinar (TDN) = 1000 millimes.
Paper money is in denominations of 30, 20, 10 and 5.
      Coins are in denominations of 5 &1 TDN, and 500, 100, 50, 20, 10 and 5 millimes.

This is a link to a question I answered about the cost of things in Tunisia (listed in TDN, GBP, EUR, and USD): http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AspYuF8KtcEAJZgcTs_5ur_ty6IX?qid=20070824044241AABNPap&show=7#profile-info-vODJRd8Maa

  22. QUESTION:
where are good/fun place to go to in France? eg. shopping, good beaches, chocolate - except Paris?

    • ANSWER:
There are hundreds of coastal places in France that offer what you ask for and it depends entirely on how and how far you want to travel, how much money you want to spend, what weather you prefer i.e. hot or not so hot, what season you intend to travel, and what your idea of "fun" is .

The Mediterranean coast has many such towns, blue sea, sandy beaches and good sunbathing and, as a result, is flooded with tourists from all over Europe, in particular Germans and Eastern Europeans. The Provence region is full of fantastic culture but Nice and Cannes are extremely expensive. Nice in particular has become the target of various criminal gangs because it is frequented by rich people who are easy pickings. Marseilles is huge, industrialised , has a high criminality rate, and many immigrants from Northern Africa.

The northern beaches in Brittany are splendid, and Saint Malo is indeed a wonderful place with a huge sandy beach and some good shops. It was badly damaged during the war but was rebuilt in the original style. In the summer there are loads of little restaurants open that sell fantastic sea food. It is close to Mont Sant Michel which is a world heritage site and a "must see", but it is not heaving with social activities so I would not call it "fun" .It is very quiet in the winter.

I am surprised that nobody has suggested La Rochelle which has all the things that you might want: the beach, brilliant shops, fresh sea food and lots and lots of activities of all kinds. The best beaches are actually even further down the coast, but they are not heaving with social life and offer mostly activities such as sailing , wind surfing, paragliding etc... Bordeaux is a major city but has no beach.

Biarritz near the Spanish border is another coastal town that ticks all the squares and was the summer destination of upper crust Parisians. One can even go horse riding on the sand.

The Normandy towns of Trouville, Deauville and Cabourg combine beaches with casinos and still are to Parisians what Brighton and Eastbourne are to Londonners, but are geared to mature adults rather than young people . They are close to the beaches where English and American forces landed in the second world war and there are many moving places to visit if you are interested in that sort of thing, including a vast American cemetary. Monet's house and gardens at Giverny are close, if you like gardens, Impressionism and paintings, and there is an American Art Museum up the road in the same street.

Higher up and near the Channel is Le Touquet otherwise known as Paris-plage for the obvious reason that it is invaded by Parisians who own properties there and come for their holidays in the summer. It caters for smart tourists and has many good (if somewhat expensive) shops, and is the Nice of the North. The amusement park of Bagatelle is not far. Humbler but picturesque Boulogne has a lot to offer, splendid beach, Nausicaa (the best aquarium in Europe), good fish restaurants, fine chocolatiers, best cheese retailer in France, lovely old town and ramparts, and shopkeepers who can speak English in view of its proximity to England.

There is at least one expert chocolatier in every major town in France but the Belgians are the chocolate champions. La Panne on the Belgian coast has a huge beach, good shopping and an amusement park .
You specified beaches, so I have given you a quick overlook of seaside places. You can look at all these by simply typing their name on Search or Google and see which would be more to your liking.
Americans tend to want to go to the most cultural places rather than beaches: Paris, the Loire valley with its marvelous chateaux, Rouen and the American landing beaches, Strasbourg and Rheims, and they are very keen on the Mediterranean Riviera and Provence because of the exposure these have been given in films and publicity, the romantic American Princess Grace of Monaco, and the amusing books written by Peter Mayle on the region.

  24. QUESTION:
Is it odd that I find the German language really sexy?
Here is an example of what I mean, please watch before you make any judgements on the language:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ViCZB2jb9c&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Okay so I was raised in England and I also find northern English accents incredibly sexy, and Scottish, Irish and Northern Irish too are extremely hot on men.
But I also find it hot if a man can speak German, not really the German accent on someone speaking English, but if a hot guy speaks German I find it very attractive, it reminds me of the film the sound of music, and Captain Von Trapp and Liesels boyfriend at the start of the film! LOL. Also I think the actor Michael Fassbender is incredibly hot, he's half German and Irish, and was born in Heidelberg but raised in Ireland from the age of 2, he can also speak German and when he does I think it sounds soo sexy! The German language makes me think of beer, football and spicy German saussages! :P I am a quarter Swedish and was born there, before moving to England at 4, though I still speak it so maybe that has something to do with it. I am also part south American, Spanish and a quarter middle eastern so I find German men kind of exciting, same goes for English, Irish and Scottish men.

    • ANSWER:
I did German classes for a while and my blonde, blue eyed German teacher was just dreamy. Something very earthy about the German language...

  30. QUESTION:
Why is it that in every other bollywood movie, the plot either involves some sort of scam or some very........
    complicated relationship(s).

Don't get me wrong, I love certain bollywood films, but when was the last time you were part of a scam or some VERY hard
triangulated/complicated relationship. LOL. And why mostly only these two subjects? lol

Has anyone else noticed this too?

    • ANSWER:
Actually these are copied directly from other films b/c indian film makers are totally ZERO in making a film. The triangulated/complicated relationship is the idea of hollywood movies.

    • ANSWER:
      how about Turkey ?

it's very very cheap, plus there's great beaches, fantastic history, so you can show the kids the things they are learning about in school (like Roman, Greek history in places like Ephasus).

If they ask why they're going to somewhere like Ephasus and looking at boring roman stuff, point to their Nike shoes or tee-shirts (with the Nike 'tick' brand on them) and tell them the tick comes from the Greek Goddess of Victory, and at Ephasus they can see a stone with the Greek Goddess on it that looks like the tick! Now that's a cool 'photo, the kids standing next to the stone of Nike, wearing their Nike tee-shirts and baseball caps!

The gulet cruises from Fethiye to Olympos around the islands are brilliant too and VERY cheap.

Plus if you take them to Gorome in Cappadochia, you can show them the underground cities where the Hittites hid from the Egyptians and the Christians hid from the Romans...not ot mention the strange landscape of the Fairy Chimneys...best balloon flight I've ever taken, and I've taken a few :)

and all that plus great food, nice people, and fantastic beaches like Oludinez (where they filmed The Blue Lagoon!)

If not Turkey, how about Croatia, again, fantastic beaches, great roman history...!

Other than that I can only suggest Italy, Greece, or Spain!

      Hope that helps

      Philip

The Virgin Blue by Tracy Chevalier
Almonds and Raisins by Maisie Mosco

  37. QUESTION:
Have you ever had a crush on a teacher?
Have you ever had a crush on one of your teachers?

Im fourteen and have the hugest crush on my english teacher, he's 24 and has a big floppy blonde fringe, and lovley blue eyes and he loves all the same music as me and we talk about bands and films and gawwd, hes so hot!

He's real cool as well and we never do proper english work we always do fun stuff like making movies and writing comic strips and he's real relaxed about everything. Like i was leaning over the class to talk to my friend and he walked by and he I craned my head past him so I could still see my friend and he's like 'oops, am i in the way?' but not sarcastically, just so cutelyy:)

I googled his name and found his old teenage myspace accounts and stuff and hes so hot and emo like:)

So yeah, i feel kinda sad but now thats off my chest. Have you ever had a crush on one of your teachers? What were they like? :)
heey, chill:) i'd never flirt with him im not that confident, and i understand it could ruin his career and stuff. but it still doesnt help him from being so haawwwtt:) hes more like a big brother, i think its cos hes so young and emoish and cute, and hes just like a teenager:)

    ooh, i love him:)))
but yeah, id never do anything about it..i just gaze from afar and laugh at all his jokes:)
eeeep, i couldnt post his myspace!:)
thats just like, idk. i couldnt do that though!

    but ommmmm, hes hottttt:)

    • ANSWER:
I am becoming a teacher and girls like you make me nervous. Please don't make it awkward for him, that's all i'd ask. He is 24 and your teacher, if you like him at all you will realize that and flirting etc ... could lead him into serious problems.

  38. QUESTION:
    Remember the film 'Borat'?
Remember the film 'Borat' by the English actor and comedian Sacha Baron Cohen? Now this film was highly controversial because of the way he mocks people etc well he's gone one better, his new film(which the rights to supposedly cost .5 million!) 'Bruno: Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Males Visibly Uncomfortable in the Presence of a Gay Foreigner in a Mesh T-Shirt' promises to be even more raw nerve.

He plays a gay fashion expert called 'Bruno' and he does all his usual stuff of taking the micky out of unsuspecting interviewees. I have taken this from wikipedia-"In the course of filming the movie, Cohen performed an interview with former Mossad agent Yossi Alpher and a Palestinian about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The subjects were unaware of the farcical nature of the interview which included questions that deliberately conflated Hamas and hummus and indicated that the conflict is between Jews and Hindus.
On June 6, 2008, a riot ensued at a stunt orchestrated by Cohen and the producers of the film as they staged a "Blue Collar Brawlin'" in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Patrons were lured to an event billed as cage fighting, held at a Convention Center, by print and Craigslist advertisements, promoting "hot girls", beer and admission. 1500 people attended the event, and were greeted by signs that informed them that they were being filmed. No cell phones, video, or cameras were allowed inside. Instead of hot girls and cage fighting, the acts taking place became homosexual in nature, and people threw chairs and beer at the performers. The performers were Bruno (Cohen) under the ironic gimmick, "Straight Dave" and an unknown actor portraying his opponent." You can see this is going to be a heated movie.

Anyway what may be the most controvertial thing in the film is a character called 'Jesus' who is a black model that wears a loincloth and a crown of thorns. I have no problem with this but will you, the Christians, have one? If so why?
If you want to know Sacha Baron Cohen is a devote Jew and is married to a women(not gay at all, its all the character). He is highly educated and studied at Cambridge University in England.

I personally find him highly entertaining, although sometimes I can't watch. I don't understand how people be so stupid, fall for his characters and how he gets away with what he does. Its the sheer stupidity of the person I find funny. Anyway what do you think?

    Sacha Baron Cohen-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sacha_Baron...
    Bruno-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Br%C3%BCno_(film)
Sorry the Sacha Baron Cohen link above doesn't work, here is the proper one-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sacha_Baron_Cohen
Agree with uz on that, funny as hell but its like a guilty pleasure haha

  39. QUESTION:
I need a Topic for my Senior Project?
Okay I'm not a Senior Yet but in 2 years I will. I really want to have my topic ready for when i'm in my English class in my Senior year i know what my Topic is already. I would really want my Senior Project to be about Flowers It would be a little easier for me since my Daddy works at a Flower Shop and for my Fieldwork he would be able to sign my hours off, but then again i've been thinking whats a problem w/ flowers since you need a problem and for your fieldwork you would have to work on something that helps the problem of your topic? I need help i would really want to do on Flowers. If you guys have other different types of topics other than flowers i would like to know.

    • ANSWER:
      Try these two ideas.

Project A. Test the effects of growth based on the types of colored film when placed in sunlight. The films needs to be transparent enough to allow the sunlight through. Color films to be tested can be black, clear, red, green, blue, violet, orange, yellow, or whatever. Select one type of flower to grow using different film as the medium (or effects) it can cause on growth.

This project can help you analyze the different UV lights that some plants absorb, why certain colored films help or not helped in the process of growth.

Project B. Test the effects of different soil types. You could use sand, dirt, mixture of sand/dirt, different animal manure, or compare aftermarket potting soils which provides the best nutrients for growth.

This project can help you analyze the different nutrients or compound found in certain type of soil that best spur growth.

For the both projects, make sure to give them all the same amount of sunlight, water, soil level, temperature, and so on. Just be consistent and keep everything the same except the different colored films and potting soil. Keep a log and measurement when applying soil and water.

The problem you're trying to solve is to determine if colored films when added to include sunlight helps growth. The same to soil types. This project can give help provide you with a lot of research material for your senior project, and also something to explain to the judges, faculties, other students.

My relatives own 20 acres of farm land and they have used these techniques to increase their product volume. Not just volume, but the produce ends up looking better and tasting better. And they also re-soiled their 20 acres with a mixture of manures and nutrients to give the plants that extra boost.

Since you are into flowers or plants, give this experiment a try. You'll just might be amazed of the difference if any at all depending where you live (hot or cold zones). You can look it up and learn why it help/ not help in the process.

  40. QUESTION:
is this a good review for eclipse?
it was my english h/w but i was on holiday so i didn't learn how to write it but here it is:

Twilight Saga : Eclipse is one of the most interesting, captivating and enthralling movies of this century – if you happen to be a screaming teenage fan girl, with a thing for pale men wearing yellow contact lenses. For the rest of us, it is just another one of those chick flicks that wouldn’t make a quarter of the profit it has made without those extremely good looking male leads. Yes people, it’s back; filled with drear some teenage angst, vampires who are paler and more covered in make-up than they have ever been; Eclipse is just perfect for those of us who don’t look for those minor details in a film.

The film begins with Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) lying in a field of blue-bells and a marriage proposal. “Marry me,” says Edward,
“I can’t. I have to be back by four.” Not the best excuse, huh? Let’s not forget about Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner), that caramel-coloured hunk of a best friend who has a habit of turning up without a shirt. When Edward Cullen says, “Doesn’t he own a shirt” it is the first sign we get that new director, David Slade, wants to insert some humour back into the series after the depressing second film.

In this film, Victoria has created a newborn army to avenge her mate, James’, death. Psychic, Alice Cullen, cannot see what will happen because Victoria’s right hand man, Riley is making all her decisions for her. Inconvenienced by Alice’s blindness, the Cullen’s turn to the wolf pack for help, who willingly agree to for Bella, who they had grown close to when the Cullen’s abandoned her (not forgetting, Jacob fancied her a bit). Together, they form an alliance working together to save Bella. On the other hand, Jacob has just declared his undying love for her and Edward is refusing to immortalise Bella until she marries him. And not only that! The two men fighting for Bella’s love hate each other – so basically, just your average teen drama. Later on in the film, Edward has to watch Jacob, who is apparently “hotter than him” (ouch), share a sleeping bag with Bella. In the morning, Edward reminds Bella that she agreed to marry him, knowing that Jacob could hear (right back at ya, mate).

It would be a lie to say that Eclipse has no action in it. In fact, with the newborn fight scene, this would definitely be the only movie in the entire series with more than two minutes of action. Technology is also upgraded as the wolves seem to be bigger, faster, stronger and well…better. It is also rumoured to be the best movie of the three, but in my opinion, that honour is still with the first movie, however, each to their own.

Eclipse is would mainly be aimed at those twi-hards who seem to be unable to live without Stephanie Meyer’s creation, but this is the only one out of the three that doesn’t seem like a sappy, lovey dovey story simply because of the five minute fight scene. But, if you feel that it’s not worth paying, then really, don’t bother.

    • ANSWER:
The idiom is "to each his own." Additionally, the last sentence is redundant. Aside from that, the review is relatively accurate and informative.

some where really beautiful.. and also tourist place like blue see threw water sandy beaches .. things that can really have a good time.. even if it means flying around thailand.

any where as well to find hotels from here in england at an ok price...

    any info would be great

thanks for all the help !!!

    • ANSWER:
Longest flights are Bangkok to Phuket or Bangkok to Chiang Mai.If you have lots of money to spare fights are fine but not a good way to experience Thailand. The trains are great in first or second class but I prefer-as most do-the buses.Thailand has a bus system that shames the U.S.Our greyhounds are awful. The first class buses here are great.Nakhon Chai Air or Chan Tour is like being in a first class flight.Big,auto/vibrating seats, stewardesses, meals and nice toilets for cheap. And you get to see the beauty of the country. It would be good if you gave an idea of your budget because there is every price range you can think of for hotels here.Go to Hostelworld.com for the best selection of cheap to mid range accommodations. As far as Bangkok goes my good friend owns the best place for the best price to stay. That's how I met him.Google it,ASHA GUEST HOUSE and take a look.Aircon rooms, swimming pool, great food, great English speaking staff, fun bar, nice garden, internet, cool backpackers from all around the world and quiet which is hard to find in Bangkok. As far as national parks there are many but if you want the most famous because of the movie 'The Beach' go to Khao Yai national park.It has everything you asked for plus wildlife, trekking, icy cold natural springs to swim in(It's hot here) bat caves and the waterfall Leonardo DiCaprio jumps off of the movie and no that part was not filmed on an island. The most beautiful island in the country is Koh Chang.I go there all the time. One side has tourism but real fun tourism and the back side is endless jungle where you can feel like a cast away standing on a beach with no one around. The best beaches are down south around Koh Lanta and Krabi. They are amazing.Chiang Mai in the northwest is good but only the starting point there are some incredible places like Mae hong son and Phi to visit. If you go to Chiang Mai look around in the bars for a promotion paper for a place called KT's guest house.Someone will know about it there. They have no website. It is an 8 room, bamboo floating guest house in the middle of a lake in the jungle.KT picks you up on his boat and takes you to it.You have to be real adventures to find it though.Only the coolest people go there and anything is OK to do.You can borrow his wind suffer, relax in the sun,go trekking to ancient buddhist caves, throw you trap down in the lake wait an hour and pull out 30 huge fresh water prawns and throw them on the BBQ.I could go on for hours telling you about the country because I've lived here for years. What I normally have people do is just direct email from Yahoo answers and I give them or you any info you want.

  44. QUESTION:
I was a child of the 90's! Were you? Do you think the 90's was the best decade to grow up in?
I loved the 90's! Ok, I was born in 88, but I was still a "child of the 90's"! I just think the 90's were cool because it was the end of a millenium and the big finalé of the 20th Century of discovery; invention and modern life as we know it! It was the beginning of computers/Microsoft/Internet, the sort of technology we take for granted today & most of all, it was historical: the end of a millenium of evolution and discovery (electricity; technology; cars; planes; etc.) & the start of a new era and millenium - the 21st Century! Here are the top 5 reasons I'm proud to be a child of the 90's: (anyone agree?)

    1) INTERNET! YAY!!! Internet was invented in 1991 & thanks to Bill Gates/Microsoft & the likes, we're online right now & will be for yrs to come! Lapotp's and Computers were officially developing in the 90's!

    2) Film: Jumanji; Schindler's List; American Beauty (1999); Titanic; Edward Scissorhands; Saving Private Ryan; Ghost; My Left Foot; Pretty Woman; A Few Good Men; Forrest Gump; The Silence Of The Lambs; Basic Instinct; Groundhog Day; The English Patient; Natural Born Killers; Mrs. Doubtfire; Four Weddings and a Funeral; The Fugitive; Pulp Fiction; True Lies; Speed; Independence Day; Liar Liar; The Shawshank Redemption; Leaving Las Vegas; Interview With The Vampire; Braveheart; Tomorrow Never Dies; Mission Impossible; Golden Eye; Trainspotting; Twister; The First Wives Club; A Time To Kill; As Good As It Gets; Hook; Misery; Deep Blue Sea; Men In Black; The Lost World; There's Something About Mary; Scream; LA Confidential; Ace Ventura; Batman; Elizabath; Armageddon; The Matrix; Shakespeare In Love; Run Lola Run; The Phantom Menace; The Lion King; Eyes Wide Shut; The Sixth Sense; Sleepy Hollow; The Blair Witch Project; The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring; The Mummy & the dawn of CGI & animatronic films such as Babe; Antz; A Bugs Life & of course, Toy Story! The 90's was the birth of Special Effects as we know them today & stars such as Julia Roberts; Johnny Depp; Leonardo DiCaprio; Reese Witherspoon; Tim Burton; Kate Beckinsale; Cate Blanchett; Catherine Zeta Jones; Pierce Brosnan; Ben Stiller; Jim Carrey; Owen Wilson; Kristin Scott Thomas; Helen Hunt; Hugh Grant; Ewen McGregor; Nicole Kidman; Halle Berry; Neil Jordan; Danny Boyle; Adam Ball; Kate Winslett; Uma Thurman & Will Smith all kick-started their careers in the 90's - what a decade for Film!!!

    3) Music: Tina; Jacko; Céline; Whitney; Bon Jovi; Madonna; U2; Shaniah; Garth; The Stones; Nirvana; Janet; Boys II Men; Annie Lennox; Sting; Pavarotti; Chér; Bryan Adams; Aerosmith; The Prodigy & Prince were all alive & kickin' during the 90's, with Kylie; The Spice Girls; Bjork; Justin; Mariah; Alicia; Beyoncé; Westlife; Boyzone; Robbie WIlliams; Take That; Oasis & Alanis Morissette all kicking off their careers! Songs such as Chér's "Believe"; "My Heart Will Go On" (Céline Dion/Titanic); Madonna's "Vogue"; "Live & Let Die (Guns N' Roses); "I Will Always Love You" (Whitney Houston); Elton John's "Candle In The Wind"; "That's The Way Love Goes" (Janet Jackson); "Hero" & "One Sweet Day" (Mariah Carey); Aerosmith's "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing"; "Simply The Best" (Tina Turner) & Michael Jackson's "Black Or White" were all anthems of the 90's too!

    4) T.V.: FRIENDS!!!; Seinfeld; The Simpsons; Ricki Lake; Have I GOt News For You; Suddenly Susan; The Big Breakfast; E.R. & Baywatch were all born in the 90's!

    5) Historical People & Events: Sydney Olympics (lead-up to it); Harry Potter; Dolly The Sheep; Riverdance; Bill & Hill; Nelson Mandella's Release; Daeth of Freddie Mercury & Kurt Cobain (R.I.P.); Birth of the DVD; Mobile/Cell Phones; Apollo Space Missions; Death of Princess Diana (R.I.P.); Collapse of the Berlin Wall; Venus & Serena; Pete Samprass; David Beckham; Tim Henman; Birth of "The Sims"; Opening of Disneyland Paris; Michael Jordan; Mount St. Helens; Tiger Woods; Cindy Crawford; Hubble Space Telescope; Reality T.V.; Opening of Channel Tunnel; The Euro; New Year's Eve 1999 & the most brazen, amazing, thrilling, stupendous & hillarious thing of the 1990's:.......................................................................................

    (Drum Roll).................................................................................

    Monica Lewinsky!!!
(I mean, come on - was that huge or WHAT?!?)

So, who agree's the 90's KICKED ASS???

    • ANSWER:
Oh I do miss the nineties:
When light up sneakers were COOL, when you rented videos, and not DVDs, when parties meant party hats, party poppers, pass the parcel, blowing out candles on your birthday cake and musical statues, fake tatoos, when you would do rolley polleys all over the field at playtime, when you slid down the stairs in your sleeping bag over and over again even when your bum got sore, when Crash Bandicoot was the best game, when wearing summer dresses, shorts and sandles to school was so exciting, when the playtimes during summer seemed to last for ages, when everyone had a pair of skipping ropes even the lads, when spice girls were THE BEST, hide-n-Seek after school till it got dark, hula hoops, telling scary stories at sleepovers, midnight feasts when you had to turn off all the lights and get the torches out at 9pm at night, the Nano Pets & Furbies, running through the sprinklers, remember when santa, the tooth fairy and the easter bunny were all so REAL!!, the first TAMAGOCHI"s and Yo-Yo"s, Pokemon! (Need I say more?), crying when Mufasa died in the Lion King, happy Meals where you chose a Barbie or a Hot Wheels car, getting the privilege to sit in the front seat of the car, those little Milk cartoons, with a straw, watching Saturday Morning Cartoons in your PJ's still wrapped up in your duvet, the Teletubbies, Pinky and the brain, the adventures of Winnie the pooh, wearing your new shoes on the first day of school, getting a certificate in assembly, then when you rang up your grandparents to tell them you couldn't say the word certificate, class trips to the zoo, LEGO, when Christmas was the most exciting time of year, when 50p seemed like a million, when you begged to go to McDonalds for tea, and when Toys R Us ruled!

My god, the 90's are so memorable. I miss being an innocent little kid, not worrying about anything and not having a care in the world.

    Immigrants

wrap their babies in the American flag,
feed them mashed hot dogs and apple pie,
    name them Bill and Daisy,
buy them blonde dolls that blink blue
eyes or a football and tiny cleats
before the baby can even walk,
speak to them in thick English,
    hallo, babee, hallo,
    whisper in Spanish or Polish
    when the babies sleep, whisper
in a dark parent bed, that dark
    parent fear, Will they like
our boy, our girl, our fine American
    boy, our fine American girl?

    Pat Mora

Any feedback whatsoever is deeply appreciated

    • ANSWER:
Many immigrants came and still continue to come to America. People came to America because of its freedom and all the opportunity. Many immigrants left their country because they couldn’t get a job, didn’t like the rules that they were forced to live under, or because they were being persecuted. Immigrants came to America to get away from all their difficulties and to start a new life in when they arrived in the US; unfortunately they also found a new set of difficulties.

Many genres of literature and films have immigration as their main topic. An example is in the two poems “Immigrants” one by Pat Mora and the May Flower circulation poem by Robert Frost.

Pat Mora’s poem is about how immigrants who came over and try to make their children as American as they can.

  48. QUESTION:
Why is the British National party so racist against Eastern Europeans?
I've met quite alot of Eastern Europeans since their accession to the EU and have always had a very positive impression of them. I;ve met great Judo, Wrestling practioners, co-workers, dates etc... and in fact sometimes you can be forgiven to think you are speaking to an English person because their English and mannerism is so well assimilated.

So why is the British national party so against white christian immigration into Britain. I've met some real real HOT woof! Slovak and Latvian girls all blond, blue eyed and fairest of the fair soft skin (i've had my fare share!) and they are whiter and fairer and peacher then any English person you can meet (most of whom seem much swarthier)

So what is Nick Griffins problem with these people, they have "assimilated" so well into England that surely this is the "right kind" of immigration we need to make up for all the non-White and Islamic immigration this country has had? Nearly all them Eastern europeans work real hard, they have very low crime levels so whats they problem?

So surely we can get enough of them Slovak, Estonian girls and stud muffins to churn out loads of "Nordic Christian" looking kids to repopulate Britain again?

Surely if the BNP has to hate anyone it should be Islamic people shouldn't it? (who have given enough reasons to cause hate against them" e.g the anti soldier protests, 7-7, hate speeches, attempted terror plots)

(Please note i am not BNP or racist just questining their thinking and am not racist against anyone)

  49. QUESTION:
Great Idea for a Series, Movie or TV?
Call it "Secret Agent Man" or something along those lines. It will take place in India, Pakistan, Tibet, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka during the from the late 60's to the end of Indira Gandhi's regime during Operation Blue Star. It will follow the exploits of two secret agents, one American, the other Soviet, one a man, the other a woman, as they shift mainly between India and Pakistan, attempting to destabilize the other's country, planting insurgent groups, stealing military secrets, assassinating high-profile targets, and trying to outwit the other. Both of them will speak fluent, even eloquent Hindi/Urdu, English, and Russian, will be expert martial artists and marksmen/women, and will both have a deep and enduring fascination and knowledge of Indian culture and history, as well as a weakness for the members of the opposite sex who happen to be Indian. It could be a Bollywood/Hollywood co-production, with big name stars from both industries working together (as well as the Russian film industry? Don't know too much about that subject unfortunately). What do you guys think? Should I start writing the scripts? :D

    • ANSWER:
I think a great idea for a movie, with kind of a mission imposible typ with a cool title music. Russians love Bollywood and well with some hot sexy guys and girld from Bollywood (famous) and hollywood it'll be amazing I guess, for a serie I don't know, could be a blast like Alias but still I feel like it's good for a movie.

Please no comments about hookers, or to just ask out every girl i meet out on the streets

    • ANSWER:
Well, this won't sound as something big but I'll try my best to help you mate :) Well, you sound like a very shy guy. To better that thing a bit just take a walk in a park or something and try looking in every hot girl's eyes until they look away (they must do that first, just feel a bit confident). When that confidence gets better try smiling to them and see if she smiles back.
Since you like sports that's a good place to find cute girls. When you see a lonely girl that is just sitting there or relaxing, walk up to her and say hi (be confident about yourself, that's one of the first things a girl will notice about you and one of the most important at start) and then ask her a question about something about the sport or hobbie even if you know how to do it. If she is smiling then try to keep asking her things, then maybe compliment her like she has cute eyes or something (it needs to be true tho because girls are really aware of their appearance). From there try inviting her to a cup of coffee or something or ask her if she'll let you know her better.
I hope I made a few things clear. I know it isn't much and sorry if my English is bad. Cheers and let me know if you have found your dreamgirl ;)
