How long do movies stay in Japanese theaters?
I'm going to Japan next year sometime in June. There is a new movie coming to Japanese theaters on March 30, 2013. It's a Dragon Ball Z movie and I think it would be awesome to be able to see it while I'm there.

But if I went in mid to late June, would it still be in theaters? I know it depends on the popularity of something. What's' the least amount of time a movie would be in theaters, and the longest amount of time? Does anyone who has been to Japan know? Is it the same as US? If so, what's it like in the US?

I think it depends on each theater. There is no general answer.

And it's too early to answer because it's going to be released in March 2013.

  7. QUESTION:
How often does netflix and lovefilm update their films?
Lets say a film came out on the 20th of January 2013, when would it be able to be streamed on both:
    A)Netflix
    B)LoveFilm
Also which one is better in your opinion and give reasons if you want. Ya know, you don't have to but it would be much appreciated!
    Thanks :)

    • ANSWER:
This cannot be answered as it is different case by case.

Some film studios refuse to offer their films for streaming at all.
Some films refuse to offer their films to be streamed on Netflix some refuse to allow LoveFilm to stream their movies. Some studios don't allow either platforms to stream their content and only allow other platforms such as iTunes, Amazon Instant Watch or their own content provider such as HBO.

So to find out when a new film will make its way to Netflix or Lovefilm one would have to know what studio owns the film and if they have a deal with either provider.

But for instance take a small film like "Jeff Who Lives at Home" it was released 16 March 2012 and showed up for streaming in Jan. 2013 so that is roughly 10 months. "One For the Money" was released Jan 2012 and showed up Jan. 2013 so that is roughly 12 months. A really small film "Sleepwalk With Me" was released August 2012 and again Jan. 2013 it was being streamed so roughly 8 months.

So you might say a year for bigger studio films and 8 months to 10 for smaller indie films.

As to which is better? I cannot say with any true degree of accuracy (due to the fact that Lovefilm is not available in the US) but here is an article comparing the 2. It is from November of 2012 so it should be up to date.

  9. QUESTION:
In Japan, how long does it take for movies to be released on DVD?
I'm waiting for that new Dragon Ball Z film to come out on DVD. In Japan it was released on March 30, 2013. In North America, generally (even the biggest movies) take 3-4 months at most to come out. How long does it take to come out in Japan?

  10. QUESTION:
When Wicked movie gets released how many oscars do you think it'll get?
Gregory Maguire, author of Wicked book, says that a film will be brought out in 2013.
    I can't wait!!!
How many oscars do you think it will win?
    Because it's very successful!

    • ANSWER:
      No, 2014.

From an interview on March 9, 2008 with Gregory Maguire:

According to Maguire, there are plans to bring out a film version of “Wicked” in the year 2014. “That’s the 10-year anniversary of its Broadway debut,” he said, “which is exactly what happened when the play ‘Chicago’ came out as a film a few years ago. Since ‘Wicked’ is breaking attendance records all over the world, there’s no need to rush a film out now.”

And another interview conducted a few days before the first:

Q: What was your reaction when they first talked to you about your novel Wicked being made into a musical? Has anyone ever asked you about it being made into a film?

GM: Within 10 days of the book's publication in the US, I started to get film offers. I had three and a half years' worth of film scripts, each one of which was worse than the one before!

When that interest began to erode (Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings hadn't come out yet) and the notion of a Broadway play came up instead, really in my heart of hearts I just thought [*singing and leaping from his chair*] 'Broadway!'. What was not to love about it?

There will eventually be a film of Wicked the musical but probably not for four or five years.

      -------------------------------

It will definitely win multiple awards. I'm thinking costume design and musical score most likely.

  11. QUESTION:
Do you think James Bond skyfall will be out on DVD before Christmas?
I'm planning on asking my parents for James Bond skyfall on DVD for Christmas. I live in the USA and the movie came out in theaters on November 9th. Do you think it will be available on DVD by Christmas.

    • ANSWER:
      NO

A date have been set for the release of Skyfall on DVD and Blu-ray and in Macrh 2013.

Here is the link to the news on it from commanderbond.net

      http://commanderbond.net/16397/skyfall-dvdblueray-due-for-march-2013.html

  12. QUESTION:
Is earth truly going to become a wasteland in the near future?
This is on the topic of global warming and I ask this because the future looks hopeless for the earth as a result of the many events that have been occurring recently like the record levels of methane in the Arctic (http://arctic-news.blogspot.ie/2013/03/record-methane-in-arctic-early-march-2013.html), the albedo loss as a result of the loss of the Arctic Ice and the melting of the Greenland Ice Pack.

The reason I ask about the earth becoming a wasteland is mainly due to the fact that recent weather extremes appear to have weakened food production on earth with severe weather like drought affecting US agriculture. I fear that the world will soon become something like the world in the novel known as The Road whereas cannibalism and starvation are the main regime as the Arctic looks to melt out completely due to extreme fracturing of the Arctic Ice (http://neven1.typepad.com/blog/2013/03/crack-is-bad-for-you-and-sea-ice.html) which could lead to the Arctic melting out this summer (perhaps either in late June, early July or at some point in August) pushing the earth to the limit with regards agriculture.

That is the end of my standard fears, however there is something much worse that I fear whereas I feel and have been told that the above scenario with regards global starvation will take a number of years to occur, there is one scenario that will push that to a number of days following the melt of the Arctic Ice and that is this article here: http://killerinourmidst.com/ whereas a mass methane release from the Arctic Basin and the Permafrost will cause rapid warming and bring society to a standstill in a matter of days.

So I must ask this question; does the near future hold the above scenario, do people think it holds the worst case scenario where humanity is left starving and if so what timescale would you suggest from it (I am referring to the second scenario with the mass methane release).

    • ANSWER:
I would consider those extremely low-probability worst case scenarios.

Instead, what I suspect will happen, and as far as I know what most scientists suspect will happen, is that we will have a slow increase in "normal" weather-related disasters (droughts, floods, and so on). This may spark wars, and lead to a lot of deaths both directly and indirectly, but I sincerely doubt it's going to become some kind of movie-fodder cannibalistic wasteland. Think more slow slide into worse and worse conditions, until either we blow each other up fairly dramatically or we just starve and fight our way down to a more sustainable population.

All this, of course, is only if we don't *act* to stop AGW, which is in my opinion a far, far preferable outcome.

  16. QUESTION:
How much does it take when they release a movie/episode?
I mean, like...for an episode how long do they rehearse? And film? And how long do they wait for the people to release it? Same for the movie, too, please! Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
It depends on the type of show or movie; and don't forget that there are different phases of making the TV show or film. Pre-production, where the script is written, the roles are cast, and the sets are built; production, when the actual footage is shot; and post-production, when the film or show is edited down to a final product.

For a TV show, you have to keep in mind that at any given time, they're working on multiple episodes--e.g. on a given day a few are in the process of being written, one is being shot, and one or two are being edited.

For a typical network sitcom like "How I Met Your Mother," the script takes a few weeks to write. The actors get their scripts on Monday (guest stars are cast a week or two beforehand); they do a "table read" where all the actors read their lines to see how the show flows, what jokes work, and what parts of the script may need tweaking. Rehearsals continue on Tuesday, and the show films on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (shows that have a studio audience, like "Two and a Half Men," film on Thursday or Friday, doing the exact same show twice so that in the editing process, they can choose the better version of each scene from the two takes).

Then the show is edited, a process that usually takes a week or two. Then the show is ready for air--but of course when it actually gets aired depends on the network's schedule; sometimes it's as early as a few days after it's done editing, sometimes it's a few weeks.

So basically, on a sitcom, they shoot a new episode every week, but pre-production and post-production take additional time. A show like HIMYM shoots from August to March, taking sizable breaks for holidays.

Hourlong dramas usually take 7 to 10 working days to rehearse and shoot, but essentially the process is the same.

With movies, again there's a wide range of projects, differing in scope, budget, and genre, and each take different lengths of time. A low-budget film that's mostly drama and has very little in the way of special effects can take just a couple of weeks to shoot and several weeks to edit, while a big-budget special effects movie like Avatar or The Dark Knight Rises could take years from shooting to release (the new Superman movie was done filming months ago, but won't be in theaters until Summer 2013).

And when it comes to movies that aren't surefire blockbuster hits, even when they're complete the studio can take its time to release the movie at an appropriate time, taking into consideration the time of year (e.g., horror movies around Halloween time, holiday movies around Christmas, romantic movies around Valentine's day; big-budget blockbusters around the holidays and early summer) as well as possible competition (you don't necessarily want to release your movie on the same weekend that a big movie that everyone wants to see is coming out).

The last time something like this happened was in March 1989 (two solar maximums ago) when the province of Quebec (in Canada) went without power for 9 hours.

Six million people affected, nine hours without power. Total number of deaths = 0.

Solar Flares cannot reach Earth (except, of course, in American movies -- e.g., "Knowing").
Solar flares are caused by strong magnetic fields at the surface of the sun. If, during a large flare, the loops of the local magnetic field are short-circuited, there is an event called "magnetic reconnection". This releases lots of energy.

Sometimes, that much energy sends out lots of material from the Sun's "atmosphere" just above the surface. A Coronal Mass Ejection (CME)

CME are shot out quite often. Most of them miss us, of course. Every once in a while, we are hit and, most of the time, the charged particles will get trapped in our radiation belts (by our own magnetic field) and leak down into our atmosphere, giving us beautiful Northern Lights (or Southern Lights, if you live in the other hemisphere).

Sometimes, the CME will arrive with too much energy and push our magnetosphere a bit too far. If that happens, the magnetosphere snaps back, causing its own magnetic reconnection. It is this event that causes an electromagnetic pulse that can be picked up by power grids.

The power lines act as antennas and pick up energy from the pulse.

In 1989, very long power lines (1,000 miles) picked up lots of energy and this pulse of power was interpreted, by the computers controlling the power distribution, as a major problem (e.g., lines fallen into a lake), so the computer shut down the power.

When the rest of the system tried to pick up the slack, a cascade failure occurred.

Quebec's distribution system has since been protected against these problems. When the man-made Northeast Blackout of 2003 occurred, the domino effect caused a power failure everywhere in the Northeast corner of North America EXCEPT in Quebec which had installed the protection.

Since then, most civilized countries have protected their power distribution system against this kind of problem.

We could hope that the USA have done the same, but, in light of the 2003 blackout...

In any event, the 2013 solar max is expected to be weaker than average.

  23. QUESTION:
when will the sequel to the host by stephenie meyer come out?
when will the sequel to the host called 'The Seeker' by stephenie meyer come out? I know she may not do it but i looks like there 's a pretty good chance she will. If she is going to do it do you know when she will?

    • ANSWER:
Her website is hopelessly out of date. You'll find the most up-to-date information on fansites such as Fanpop.com and in interviews with Stephenie Meyer. However, she is very, very careful in mentioning future projects. First, there was a leak about the Twilight book "Midnight Sun" which she had been working on. Second, she says if she mentions a possible book the media treats that as a commitment, so she doesn't like to speculate. Third, she said at the present, her time is not her own and she can't write in that atmosphere.

All that being said, she did mention about a year or so ago that she had written the outline and first chapters of "The Host" sequel "The Soul", to be followed by the 3rd book of the trilogy "The Seeker". My thought is-- they are currently casting forThe Host movie which will start filming in February to be released in March, 2013 (Saoirse Ronan as Mel; Max Irons as Jared; Jake Abel as Ian; William Hurt as Jeb--see MovieInsider.com), and if there are going to be sequels using the same cast, she had better write them soon before the actors get too old for the parts!

  25. QUESTION:
Books geared towards boys with a female main character?
I'm wondering if there are any books like that out there?

    • ANSWER:
James Patterson is a great author. He wrote the "Maximum Ride" series. The first book is called "The Angel Experiment" He has written 6 other books in this series. It's great because each chapter is only a couple pages long - but the story is so good you just keep reading. Max (a girl) is the leader of the group of kids. The movie is scheduled to be released in 2013.

Suzanne Collins wrote the "Hunger Games" trilogy. Katniss Everdeen is also a female lead character. This is such a great book and the two books after it are just as good! The movie is scheduled to be released on March 23, 2012

  27. QUESTION:
Does anyone know when they might start filming New Moon the sequel for Twilight?
I love Twilight!!!! and I really want to c how they will do on New Moon.

    • ANSWER:
According to Kristen Stewart, they are supposed to start filming in March 2009.

According to IMDb, New Moon is scheduled to come out in 2010. And according to movies.com, the release date is January 1, 2010.

Back to IMDb, if they do Eclipse, it is supposed to come out in 2012. And then Breaking Dawn in 2013. I know that Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson (and I think a few other characters) are signed on for three movies, leaving Breaking Dawn out. But you can not make Eclipse without Breaking Dawn. However, Stephenie Meyer stated that it might be impossible to make Breaking Dawn into a movie and if it would be, it should be made into two movies.

Why are do soo many actors fail, to become great?
Other than an obvious point that you may not have the look. How can I prevent from coming like all of the millions of actors out there that know one knows, that never become prestigious? Why do they never make it any where? i DONT want to be some sad looser on some unheard of casting site, or youtube making videos and getting low level jobs . I'm just starting out, and I've done 1 play and 1 musical last year lead rolls. The play was a Christmas play/The life of Jesus and I played Jesus. The musical was The Magic Flute, and I played Monostanous the lead villain. Now i auditioned for my first film and beat two adults and a few teens for the roll I am currently cast as. Im cast as Jake, one of the bad guys. Its slated for release on March 2013. It's no hollywood film, or anything, but its a film none the less and will have a public and private screening at a theater. So we are pretty much done and I'm looking for my next gig, I really want to tryout for a character in the upcoming holly wood film Divergent being shot in Chicago. Will I need an agent to get into this audition? I'm planning on going in to an open call near me to get an agent. I'm in touch with Joel Courtney on twitter and a few other teen celebrities, they found me. I just set up an account and twitted some stuff and next thing I know I'm being followed. My twitter is @IsaiahTButler. So please answer these questions and leave some advice, and don't forget the main question in the title. Also if you want to know more about me please visit my website isaiah.mixform.com feel free to comment on any blog posts.
I'm 16 years old and I'm ready for this, i know the headaches, and work and effort. I also know theres much more for me to learn. My passion at first was just the pure enjoyment and love of acting. No its developed into a passion to one of the best. Winning Emmy's and Tony's and sometime soon my first Young Artist Award. I don't care for fame and riches, matter fact if I worked at McDonalds and still got to be in Big movies with the greats, such as Denzel Washington, Cuba Gooding Jr. and others, while being the best I can winning awards, but not making millions I would go for it! My parents say its a pipe dream and i'll never make it, or their trying to except the fact that I'm going to be a bum. I haven't gone through all of this emotional scaring just to give up, so please someone help.

    • ANSWER:
Why are do soo many actors fail, to become great?

One because acting isn't as easy as everyone seems to think it is. It requires talent and training and continual challenges to keep growing as an actor. And while there are many, many very talented actors and much, much, much fewer roles that let them demonstrate those talents to their full capacity.

It also has to do with how you define "great". I was a professional stage actress for 15 years and I worked with some amazingly great actors (some even told me I was great too). We put on great productions. Does the fact that you've never heard of them or didn't see the productions make them less great? I don't think so.

I don't think that outside validation through awards necessarily makes someone a great actor. (They could be a good actor but have great connections and create campaigning skills.) Just like I think there are many great artists who will die in obscurity and may never be "discovered", there are many great actors who will never be famous or even well-known. But they will be very well respected by those who know them, worked with them, or seen their work. Being able to move an audience, touch lives, by bringing a story to life so others can experience it - that's being great. Often awards have more to do with being political than being great.

How can I prevent from coming like all of the millions of actors out there that know one knows, that never become prestigious?

You can't prevent it. You can improve your chances of it not happening if you have talent and get good training (classes and experience). If you can recognize other talented people (writers, producers, crew, other actors) and can match their skill and dedication and work together to create something memorable - then you have a better chance of winning the respect of others. Keep working to improve and grow as an actor. Recognize that a production involves A LOT more people than just the actor - and work with the good ones.

To get the awards, know the right people to suck up to. Work to get the roles that have more aware potential rather than ones that may challenge you or interest you as an actor. Understand the politics of the industry where you live. Get savy about the business end of things and know how to market yourself. Play the PR game - things like that.

I'm looking for my next gig, I really want to tryout for a character in the upcoming holly wood film Divergent being shot in Chicago. Will I need an agent to get into this audition?

Probably. Most movie roles are cast through a talent agent. A long shot would be if you knew who the casting director is and you self submit and see if they call you for an audition. But if the production company is out of California and you're a minor, you may need an entertainment work permit and a Coogan Trust account. (Not sure - you'll have to check into that.) But yes - the best chance you have of getting an audition would be to have a talent agent.

      Good luck.

  32. QUESTION:
Im a fan of Caitlin Stasey, when will her work reach the UK?
I am a big fan of Caitlin Stasey, she has recently starred in such movies such as "All Cheerleaders Die", "Lust For Love" and a ABC comedy "Please Like Me."

I am curious if anyone is aware or if anyone has any links on any news about these features, and more importantly, when they will reach UK screens?

Also will there be a sequel to "Tomorrow When The War Began"?

    • ANSWER:
Hi. I'm a fan of Caitlin's from the UK, too. In answer to your questions:

'Please Like Me' is due to air starting February on ABC2 in Australia. I can't imagine it will be shown on terrestrial channels in the UK because Josh Thomas, the star, is unknown here. However, I'm hoping I'll be able to download it from somewhere online. If I find a link, I'll let you know. If it's the case that the show is later released on DVD, I will of course buy it.

'Lust for Love' is in the latter stages of post production. I don't know if it will see general release in the US or UK yet, because it's a indie film, though even a limited release would be great. I'm sure it will eventually be available on DVD though, because I was a backer of the Kickstarter project which funded the movie, and a 2-disc DVD is one of my rewards. I'm hoping to receive the DVD before the film's theatrical release, not after.

The thriller 'Evidence' was shot in around August/September of 2011, if I remember rightly, and has had more than a year in post-production, so I think that's due out soon. 'Chu and Blossom', a comedy, was shot in Florida in August/September this year, so will probably be in post-production for a while yet. 'All I Need' is an indie horror/thriller and it was shot in LA around late September/October, this year. I don't know when this is due out, though I'm sure it's sometime during 2013. A second horror/thriller, 'All Cheerleaders Die', has (I think) wrapped shooting just before Christmas, though I may be wrong on that. I don't know if any of these four movies will be released theatrically in the UK, though I suspect 'All Cheerleaders Die' might be, as it sounds like a relatively bigger budget production. Either way, all four are bound to later be released on DVD.

'I, Frankenstein' was shot in Melbourne in around March/April this year, though it won't be out until September 2013 in the US, after its release was delayed by seven months. This is a big-budget affair, so it will almost certainly be released in the UK, though I don't know if it will debut here at the same time as in the US. I'm hoping we might even get to see it before the Yanks do. Caitlin plays a gargoyle in the movie :)

As far as a sequel to TWTWB goes, the last I heard was that a screenplay based on the second and third books in the series had been completed. Unfortunately, things don't look promising as regards getting the original cast back together. Lincoln Lewis recently Tweeted that he had met with director Stuart Beattie, and that the possibility of a sequel (with the same director and cast, at least) seems remote :/

Hope that helps! If you're looking for more up-to-date news on Caitlin's projects, I can thoroughly recommend her Facebook page. It's not run by Caitlin herself but I know the young lady who does run it, and she is always the first to dig up new info, so if you 'like' the page, I'm sure you'll be kept abreast of any further developments :)

  38. QUESTION:
can someone explain when futurama has been cancled?
I know its happend a few times and is it renewed for a season next year?

    • ANSWER:
they just started another season of episodes...

Here's wikipedias info on the cancellation:

Groening and Cohen wanted Futurama to be shown at 8:30pm on Sunday, following The Simpsons. The Fox network disagreed, opting instead to show two episodes in the Sunday night lineup before moving the show to a regular time slot on Tuesday.[33] Beginning with its second broadcast season Futurama was again placed in the 8:30 Sunday spot,[34] but by mid-season the show was moved again, this time to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, its third position in under a year.[35]
Even by the fourth season Futurama was still being aired erratically.[36] This was parodied in the opening sequence of the last episode of Season 4 with a picture of Fry, Leela, and Bender captioned "See You On Some Other Channel." Due to being regularly pre-empted by sporting events, it became difficult to predict when new episodes would air. This erratic schedule resulted in Fox not airing several episodes that had been produced for seasons three and four, instead holding them over for a fifth broadcast season. Fox executives were also not supporters of the show.[37] Although Futurama was never officially cancelled, midway through the production of the fourth season, Fox decided to stop buying episodes of Futurama, letting it go out of production before the fall 2003 lineup.[38][39]

In 2005, Comedy Central acquired the syndication rights to Futurama.[40] During the negotiations, Comedy Central discussed the possibility of producing new episodes. In 2006, it was announced that four straight-to-DVD films would be produced, and later split into 16 episodes comprising a new season.[41] Since no new Futurama projects were in production at the time of release, the final movie release Into the Wild Green Yonder was designed to stand as the Futurama series finale. However, Groening had expressed a desire to continue the franchise in some form, including as a theatrical film.[42] In an interview with CNN, Groening said that "we have a great relationship with Comedy Central and we would love to do more episodes for them, but I don't know... We're having discussions and there is some enthusiasm but I can't tell if it's just me."[43]

In June, 2009, 20th Century Fox announced that Comedy Central had picked up the show for 26 new half-hour episodes that began airing on June 24, 2010.[44][45][46] The returning writing crew was smaller than the original crew.[47] It was originally announced that main voice actors West, DiMaggio, and Sagal would return as well, but on July 17, 2009, it was announced that a casting notice was posted to replace the entire cast when 20th Century Fox Television would not meet their salary demands.[48] The situation was later resolved, and the entire original voice-cast returned for the new episodes. The dispute had stopped the original actors from appearing on the Futurama panel for Comic-Con 2009, to the disappointment of fans.[49]

When Futurama aired June 24, 2010, on Comedy Central, it helped the network to its highest-rated night in 2010 and its highest-rated Thursday primetime in the network's history.[54] In March 2011, it was announced that Futurama has been renewed for a seventh season, consisting of at least 26 episodes, scheduled to air in 2012 and 2013.[5][6] The first episode of season 7 is set to premiere June 20, 2012 on Comedy Central.[55]

  39. QUESTION:
When is the Catching Fire Trailer coming out?
When is the Catching Fire (second in the Hunger Games sequel) Trailer coming out?
-The official trailer, not a fan made one

    Thanks

    • ANSWER:
There's no exact date or anything, but the release date for Catching Fire is November 22nd, 2013.
I'm going to guess that the trailer will release somewhere in July 2013 because The Hunger Games trailer was released in November 2011 and the movie released 4 months later in March.
So yeah, the trailer will probably release four months before the movie releases next year in November. :)

  40. QUESTION:
Is this normal for a 14 year old girl?
Well I have started my period on July 8,2012 and I haven't gotten it yet. Today is March 28,2013 and I know I'm not pregnant because its been like 8 months and I'm perfectly fine and healthy but why hasn't it come back? Do I need to go to the doctor? My friends kept on telling me that I should go to the doctor because there is some thing very wrong with me.

    • ANSWER:
There is nothing "very wrong with you." It's very common for teens (and even a large amount of adults) to have a highly irregular menstrual cycle for a few years. I have one, (I am fourteen as well) and I will often go HUGE spans of time in-between periods, just as you seem to. The only way that you could be pregnant is if you have actually had sex, as there is NO OTHER WAY, no matter what anyone says. It is evident that you are not pregnant seeing as, eight months later, you look the same. I don't know whether or not you have had intercourse, so I can't take that into consideration here.

Not having a period for a long time can also mean that your body does not have the proper nutrients required to shed eggs every month. Perhaps you haven't been eating the required amount of food, or you have a deficiency. I don't eat all that much, and I believe that this could contribute to why I have only about two or three periods per year.

Not having your period every month doesn't mean that anything is wrong with you, it could just be what is normal for your body. What is healthy and right for one woman's body does not have to be for another's.

There would be cause for concern if you had never had your first period, as that could indicate a problem with the pituitary gland, which is, in essence, the gland in the brain that releases hormones. This could be considered hypopituitarism, which is incredibly rare and is partnered with other growth deficiencies. (If you have seen the movie, Orphan, the character Esther portrays this condition fairly well.)

It is not necessary to have this looked at, though it is never harmful to have your lady-parts checked out every once in a while just to assure that there are no problems with your ovaries and such. I would broach the subject with a parent/guardian whom you trust, whether or not they are female. In the off chance that this is caused by an abnormality of sorts, the adult will understand and want to help you. It's embarrassing as hell, (Hey, I asked my dad if I could use BC so that my periods would be lighter when they came, and I survived. :P) but it would be wise to have it looked at.

I wish you only the best of luck, and please try not to stress and turn into a hypochondriac like me, where I think that I have every imaginable disease and disorder known to man.

Dir.: Gary Ross | Lionsgate | March 23Lionsgate hopes to capture some of Summit’s Twilight box office magic with this adaptation of the first book in Suzanne Collin’s best-selling young adult trilogy. While it doesn’t involve vampires or werewolves, the post-apocalyptic world that is home to main protagonist Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) does have room for two love interests: Gale Hawthorne, her friend and hunting partner, and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson), her fellow tribute in the Hunger Games, a televised fight to the death between two dozen kids aged 12-18. (It's not quite as dark as Battle Royale, but it's dark.) Director Gary Ross (Pleasantville 71, Seabiscuit 72) will be tasked with setting the visual tone of the planned three- or four-film series, whose next installment (Catching Fire) is already scheduled for release on November 22, 2013.

  46. QUESTION:
Why are there so many remakes today of classic horror films?
and why are most of the responses to it negative

    • ANSWER:
Personally, I think one of the many reasons so many horror remakes exist is that they have tons of new effects now, so they have the ability to make it look more realistic than the original movie. Take Carrie, for example. The original movie came out in the '70's, and the remake (though it's actually more of an adaptation of the book rather than a remake of the movie) will be out in March of this year. Despite it being considered a classic, some parts in the original movie looked rather fake/unrealistic due to the time it was made. The destruction in the remake will probably look more real now.

Also, with adaptations from books, the movie sometimes leaves things out that they decide to keep in when making a remake. Using Carrie as an example once again, in the '70's movie they didn't make her destroy the entire town like she did in the book. Now, with the 2013 remake, they have confirmed that she will be destroying the town, therefore making it a closer adaptation to the book. And of course there's also the money reason coming into play-to be considered a classic, a movie had to have done fairly well when it was first released. So, the creators of the remake probably assumed that the remake will do well, either because 1. people would be curious as to how a remake of a classic would turn out and want to see a different view on it, or 2. people would be skeptical about the remake of such a well-loved movie and want to see it to see if they ruin it. Either way, most remakes tend to make a lot of money, and the creators of the remakes know that.

As for why the response is usually negative, that's typically either because 1. it's really THAT bad, because some remakes do turn out terribly, or 2. some people refuse to like it simply because it is a remake. I'm curious to see how the Carrie one will be taken, since people love the original so much.

  48. QUESTION:
How long does it take for netflix to have newly released movies?
I'm thinking about getting netflix, and say if i wanted to get "The Perks of Being a Wallflower", how long would it be until they have it?

    • ANSWER:
If you mean getting the movie on DVD then it depends on the studio that produced the movie. Warner Brothers makes Netflix wait 56 days after DVD release before it can rent DVDs while the others have a 28-day wait period.

If you mean streaming the movie via the internet, then it depends on if Netflix has an output arrangement with the studio. If they do, then you can expect to see a movie appear on the streaming service between 6 and 9 months after the DVD release date in the US, in most cases.

If Netflix doesn't have an output deal with the studio, then you could wait up to 10 years for the movie to appear on Netflix.

The "Perks of Being a Wallflower" is produced by Summit Entertainment, so the DVD will be available for rent 28 days after the DVD release date. The DVD release date was February 12, 2013, so Netflix should have the DVD available around March 12, 2013. However, HBO has the TV/streaming output deal with Summit and HBO typically demands exclusivity for 8 to 10 years so this movie is unlikely to be steaming on Netflix USA anytime soon.

  50. QUESTION:
Is Stephanie Meyer writing a sequel to The Host?
I just finished reading "The Host." It was reeeeeally good, so I wanted to reveiw it on my blog.... when I went to the Goodreads website, they said it was part of a series, and that there were two 'potential' sequels on the way. What I want to know is, did Stephanie come out and say she was writing such books. If so, where can I track the progress. (Oh, and there are no details to be found on her website, as far as i could tell.)

Third, she said at the present, her time is not her own and she can't write in that atmosphere
