Frequently Asked Questions

What do you guys know about the dark water dragon?
It is now the year of the Dragon and this is the dragon that it is the year of specifically.

    • ANSWER:
the year of the Yang Water Dragon, brings many possibilities for good fortune.
In Chinese element theory, water produces wood, which signifies growth and is the natural element of the dragon. The dragon governs east/southeast, wealth accumulation & the hours of 7 a.m. - 9 a.m. Associated with thunder, lightning and arousal, the Water Dragon personifies creativity at its best.

Water Dragons occur every 60 years, so we have had Yang Water Dragons in 1952, 1892, 1832, 1772, 1712, 1652, 1592, etc. Too, the future holds more Water Dragons in the years beyond 2012, in 2072, 2132, 2192, 2252, etc.

In 2012 the Yang Water Dragon Year starts January 23, 2012 and ends February 9, 2013. The energetic high point of the year is the dragon moon, which is from May 20 to June 18 (new moon is May 20, full moon is June 4 and dragon moon is over June 18. June 19 begins the snake moon, which will set up the energy for the following year, 2013, year of the yin water snake.)

Embrace the upcoming 2012 Year of the Water Dragon! Also makes great gifts for people who are Water Dragons (born either between 1/27/1952 – 2/23/1953 OR between 1/23/2012 – 2/9/2013.) There’s even something for the Water Dragon babies of 2012/2013.

What celestial bodies affect mood and in which percentage?
Also where are the studies behind it?

25th February 2013 Moon in Virgo was considered a Snow Moon, as well, which means that it affected the environment and the snow it brought in the surrounding environment affected our moods. So is the moon the only celestial body involved in mood changes? And historically is there something that can be associated to this fact?

I think Sumerians did study climate changes and planetary changes and could see these patterns as well? Where could I find a link to this? :) Thanks.
@Chainlightning, I am in the Northern Hemisphere :) it's winter here :) almost spring 😀

    Reccomedetions of honey moon destinations?
I am getting married in Feb 2013 and I am looking for a destination with a little sun for the honeymoon...around 25 - 30 degrees, however myself and my partner are quite young and like the idea of having an all inclusive package and preferably somewhere where we can drink and relax with a beach area. Any suggestions welcomed :) Was looking at Canary Islands but it looks quite cold in Feb ?

    • ANSWER:
The places I can recommend to you are not going to be cheap.
You are going in February which is the height of the winter season in southern areas.
All-inclusive packages are a lot of money because it includes meals and drinks. If you like to drink a lot, the package might be worth it. Otherwise, don't book an all-inclusive package because you just end up paying for other people to drink alcohol all day and night. This is the establishments biggest expense.
You should look into Caribbean resorts that offer an all-inclusive package, if you choose to go that route. The islands I would suggest would be-----
      Puerto Pico
      St Maartan/St Martin
      Grand Cayman Island

"Sandals" is one of the biggest all-inclusive resort destinations. Check them out on the internet. They are located on several islands.
If the Caribbean is not your thing, I would then suggest some places in Florida such as-----
      Palm Beach
      Sanibel Island
      Marco Island
areas along the southeast coast (Ft Lauderdale, etc)
      There is always Hawaii

Can you only get Twilight Breaking Dawn part 1 in DVD?
I've been looking all over eBay and I really wanna buy Twilight Breaking Dawn. Underneath ALL the box sets says 'Part 1'. Is there any part 2 in that Breaking dawn box set or is part 2 not on disk yet?

    • ANSWER:
Breaking Dawn Part 2 was only released in the cinema in November 2012 and therefore isn't available on DVD yet. It's expected to be released around mid-February/early March 2013. You're probably best waiting until then as it'll be much cheaper to purchase both than Part 1 and Part 2 separately. If you haven't seen the films prior to Breaking Dawn Part 1 (Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse), there's a box set available containing all 4 of the films for around £12.

Which countries are preparing for space programs now or in the near future?

    • ANSWER:
Proposed lunar explorationMain article: Chinese Lunar Exploration Program
In February 2004, the PRC formally started the implementation phase of its uncrewed Moon exploration project. According to Sun Laiyan, administrator of the China National Space Administration, the project will involve three phases: orbiting the Moon; landing; and returning samples. The first phase planned to spend 1.4 billion renminbi (approx. US0 million) to orbit a satellite around the Moon before 2007, which is ongoing. Phase two involves sending a lander before 2010. Phase three involves collecting lunar soil samples before 2020.

On November 27, 2005, the deputy commander of the crewed spaceflight program announced that the PRC planned to complete a space station and a crewed mission to the Moon by 2020, assuming funding was approved by the government. Towards that end it intended to perfect space walking and docking by 2012.

On December 14, 2005, it was reported "an effort to launch lunar orbiting satellites will be supplanted in 2007 by a program aimed at accomplishing an uncrewed lunar landing. A program to return uncrewed space vehicles from the moon will begin in 2012 and last for five years, until the crewed program gets underway" in 2017, with a crewed Moon landing some time after that.[35]

Nonetheless, the decision to develop a totally new moon rocket in the 1962 Soviet UR-700M-class (Project Aelita) able to launch a 500 tons payload in LTO[dubious – discuss] and a more modest 50 tons LTO payload LV has been discussed in a 2006 conference by academician Zhang Guitian (张贵田), a liquid propellant rocket engine speciallist, who developed the CZ-2 and CZ-4A rockets engines.[36][37][38]

On June 22, 2006, Long Lehao, deputy chief architect of the lunar probe project, laid out a schedule for China's lunar exploration. He set 2024 as the date of China's first moonwalk.[39]

In September 2010, it was announced that the country is planning to carry out explorations in deep space by sending a man to the Moon by 2025. China also hopes to bring a moon rock sample back to Earth in 2017, and subsequently build an observatory on the Moon's surface. Ye Peijian, Commander in Chief of the Chang’e programme and an academic at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, added that China has the "full capacity to accomplish Mars exploration by 2013."[40][41]

As indicated by the official Chinese Lunar Exploration Program insignia, denoted by a calligraphic Moon ideogram (月) in the shape of a nascent lunar crescent, with two human footsteps at its center, the ultimate objective of the program is to establish a permanent human presence on the Earth's natural satellite.

Yang Liwei declared at the 16th Human in Space Symposium of International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) in Beijing, on May 22, 2007 that building a lunar base was a crucial step to realize a flight to Mars and farther planets.[42]

According to practice, since the whole project is only at a very early preparatory research phase, no official crewed Moon program has been announced yet by the authorities. But its existence is nonetheless revealed by regular intentional leaks in the media.[43] A typical example is the Lunar Roving Vehicle (月球车) that was shown on a Chinese TV channel (东方卫视) during the 2008 May Day celebrations.

Can someone list all the episodes Belle has appeared in for Once Upon a Time?

When is the next eclips coming to toronto? & how often is there an eclipse each year?

    • ANSWER:
      Hi Toronto!

The next one is a total eclipse of the moon mid-evening (Eastern Time) on Wednesday, February 20th! And we in North America have good seats!

It starts 8:43 p.m. Eastern Time on February 20th, reaching totality at 10 p.m. Prime Time! (Not before dawn like yesterday morning's eclipse.)

Note, by the way, that some writers telling you that it's on Feb 21st are mistaken. They're giving the times of the eclipse in England, but there it only happens after midnight. For us in North America the eclipse happens on Wednesday the 20th.

What about the next solar eclipse? At Toronto, technically you'll see a partial eclipse of the sun at sunset on May 20, 2012, but the moon just grazes the solar disc as the sun sets that evening. The one November 3, 2013 is like that too, only at sunrise. And the same again October 23, 2014.

The next solar eclipse at Toronto worth waiting for is August 21, 2017, when 75% of the sun's disc will be covered at mid-eclipse around 2:30 that afternoon.

But you want a total eclipse of the sun! And, it's not all that far away. The next total solar eclipse at Toronto is April 8, 2024 just over 16 years away. About 3:15 p.m. that afternoon, Toronto and a hundred-mile wide swath across the continent will see the most sublime spectacle in nature!

    are moon placements always correct?
I put down the bdate February 9, 2013 to find the birth chart. The moon sign is Aquarius. I put down February 8th 2013, the moon sign is Capricorn. To both I put the time 3:00am. Is it possible for a child to be born on the 8th and be a Capricorn in the moon placement? or are moon calculations from one day to the other always accurate?

    • ANSWER:
Err.. my opinion is the moon is suppose to complete a cycle every 2 1/2 days right? So I think a person born at a different time of the day can have a different sign, although the sign would only differ by the horoscope before or after. I also think it depends on where the person is born in, cause the moon is at different positions in the planet at different times, right? I once checked for my friend, and although he's suppose to be a capricorn sun saggitarius moon in general, but because he was born nearer the east and early in the morning, he ended up becoming a capricorn sun scorpio moon instead. Hope this helps! (:

«CHINA»Why Tibetans in Tibet are not going to celebrate this New year?
    February 11 ,2013: Tibetan Losar

The Tibetans follow the lunisolar calendar, which means that the date is indicative of the moon phase and the time of the solar year as well. Losar, the Tibetan New Year is celebrated on the first day of the first month of the calendar. The date of this festival is likely to fall on 11 February in the year 2013.
However, sadly there have been 100 Tibetan self-immolations and the increasingly repressive measures of the
Chinese since 2009, the CTA has reaffirmed its resolve to inform and mobilize the international community.
    February 13, 2013: 100th Anniversary of
    Tibet's declaration as an independent
Thubten Gyatso, the 13th Dalai Lama,
who was forced to take refuge in British
India from 1910–1912, following the Manchu invasion of Tibet, returned to
his country after Tibetans expelled the
Manchu forces from Tibet, marking the
    restoration of Tibet’s independence.
The 13th Dalai Lama declared Tibet’s
    independence on February 13, 1913
(8th day, first month, water ox Tibetan
year) by making the ‘Tibetan Proclamation of Independence,’ a five-
point public statement reasserting Tibetan Independence.
    Dalai Lama states: “...Meanwhile, the
    Manchu empire collapsed. The
Tibetans were encouraged to expel the
Chinese from central Tibet. I, too,
returned safely to my rightful and
sacred country, and I am now in the
course of driving out the remnants of
    Chinese troops from DoKham in
    Eastern Tibet. Now, the Chinese
intention of colonizing Tibet under the
    patron-priest relationship has faded
like a rainbow in the sky...”
The year 2013 will mark 100 years since
Tibet proclaimed the restoration of its
    independence. The Manchu army sent
troops to Tibet in 1909, prompting the
13th Dalai Lama to escape to India.
    However, as the Manchu dynasty
succumbed to a Chinese revolution at
    home, Tibetans expelled the Manchu
troops from Tibet. The 13th Dalai Lama
returned to Tibet and issued a proclamation to mark the restoration of Tibetan independence.

In light of the above important days,I a Tibetan refugee living in Nepal, recommend Tibetan brothers and sisters and supporters to take action to join local Tibet activities to highlight the Tibet issue in the International society.

    • ANSWER:
HI many Tibetans don't celebrate Losar because they don't want the Chinese media to capture them on film being happy and dancing and such, so they don't use it as a flase proof that they are happy in Tibet. Or so the free tibet group says.

Next predicted natural disaster talk sht get hit?
flash floods, hurricanes, tornados, cyclones, earthquakes and tsunamis. Someone talked sht so who is the next to get hit?

    • ANSWER:
Frankly, there are two comets that will slide very closely pass Earth in 2011. The first is called Object 2000 PN9, and is bound to pass by on March 15 2011. The other comet is named Elinin, and it is approximately 3-4 km in diameter, will pass by Earth in September 11 2011. All these may affect the weather as its gravity influences our atmosphere.

There is also another more serious threat, a comet called Apophis (named after a demon from Greek Mythology) which has a diameter of 2.7 km and will most likely not impact Earth on 2029, but on 2036. Upon impact, the soil would spray over our atmosphere, blocking any sunlight available, effectively sending us right back to the ice age. Ironically, it is widely believed that a similar event caused the extinction of the dinosaurs.

Aside from comets, there is also this phenomenon called the "super moon". It is when the Moon is closer to Earth than any other time in the past 18 years because of the moon's cycle. The enclosed distance between the moon and the Earth may also created some unpleasant weathers or even earth quakes.

The last, but not the least, a solar maximum is suppose to occur between the end of 2012 and the beginning of 2013 ( I know, it coincides with the 2012 conspiracy). Scientists believed that this solar maximum was going to be weak, but proved to be wrong after witnessing a class x 2.2 solar flare on February 4. Even the well known physicist Michio Kaku came out live on Fox News to warn us that the solar maximum will likely wipe out our electrical systems, throwing us 100 years back technologically as a civilization.

Well, I am sure there will be more, and probably are more apocalyptic news as we step further into the new millennium. However, don't be frightened by these possibilities, it only makes live more interesting. I strongly believe that we will be able to see more dramatic changes in the up coming years.

I would like to know what is the date for the Chinese New Year in 2010.?

does anyone know when the chinese new year is?
I need to know when the chinese new year is for the year 2007 and when does it end!
does anyone know when it is?

    • ANSWER:
"The Chinese lunar year is divided into 12 months of 29 or 30 days. The calendar is adjusted to the length of the solar year by the addition of extra months at regular intervals. The years are arranged in major cycles of 60 years. Each successive year is named after one of 12 animals. These 12-year cycles are continuously repeated. The Chinese New Year is celebrated at the second new moon after the winter solstice and falls between January 21 and February 19 on the Gregorian calendar. The year 2006 translates to the Chinese year 4703–4704. The year 2007 translates to the Chinese year 4704–4705."1

      "What about a 'Year?'
The next larger unit of measurement of time is the 'Year.' For this we go back to the Sun again. Careful observations reveal that the over a period of many months (12), the position of the Sun shifts from very high overhead to a much lower point at Noon time. The length of daylight time also changes from longer to shorter. Even more importantly, the weather changes from hot to cold, giving rise to the four seasons of Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.
It is logical, therefore, to define the length of this time period as a 'Year.'
The Chinese word for 'Year' is 'Nian', written as . Since the word 'Sun' has already assigned the meaning of a 'day', a new word has to be used to denote the 'year.'

      How long is a year?
A little more than 365 days. In 104 B.C. the length of a year was determined to an accuracy of 365.2502 days. By 480 A.D., Ju Chongzhi refined it to 365.2428 days, or 52 seconds more than
the modern value of 365.2422 days.
To put it another way, in 2,000 years the total discrepancy is less than one day! Together with the voluminous annals of Chinese historians, the Chinese has provided the most accurate and uninterrupted time-line records.

Although 0.24 day does not look like much, over many years it becomes significant. How do we round it to a whole number of days? There are several different schemes to do this. The Chinese scheme is called the 'lunar calendar', and the nearly standard calendar is called the 'solar' calendar system. "3

I heared that an asteroid is heading towards earth.?
It was in a spanish news. I heard it will pass by Australia.

    • ANSWER:
A near-Earth asteroid – called 2012 DA14 by astronomers – will pass very close to Earth on February 15, 2013. Astronomers estimate that, when it’s closest to us, it’ll be within the orbit of the moon (which averages about a quarter million miles away), and closer than some high-orbiting communications satellites. 2012 DA14 will be about 17,200 miles (27,680 kilometers) away. It will not strike Earth in 2013. Astronomers’ calculations of asteroid orbits can be trusted. After all, even decades ago, they knew enough about calculating orbits to send people to the moon and bring them safely back, and today we are able place our space vehicles in orbit around objects as small as asteroids.

The asteroid won’t be visible to the eye, but you can watch the February 15 asteroid flyby online, in real-time.

    sailor moon 2013 anime?
when is the release date for anime sailor moon 2013? and it is true there is a new sailor moon 2013?

    • ANSWER:
There is no release date for the new anime so far, but it was said that it would be released worldwide simultaneously online with Japanese audio and possible English subtitles for overseas audiences.

No storyline information has been given yet, and the author's editor wouldn't give us any hints on whether it's a whole new story after the final season, or if it's a remake that's closer to the original comic book. I guess we'll just wait and see :)

In February they said there would be some announcements soon... but we're still waiting patiently :)

Can lunar & solar eclipses coincide with (even before/after) supermoons? if so what are the date & time in UT.?
super moons happen only once in 18 years and in solar and lunar eclipses a sar (plural saros) happens too once in 18 years.. can you give me the future happenings of lunar & solar eclipses coinciding with(even before or after) supermoons?the times and date must be in UT (21st century)?

    • ANSWER:
First of all, let's talk about the concept of "supermoon" since I see that previous answerers didn't like the term. It is a fact that the moon comes closer to earth at some time of the month, and at some other time it gets farther from earth. The closest point is known as "perigee" and the farthest is "apogee". Astronomers always can calculate moon perigees and apogees in terms of time and distance from earth.
On the other hand, we at earth observe the moon from different angles in relation to the sun. Hence, we see the moon going through phases. Each month, the moon becomes brightest at full moon. Again, astronomers calculate the phases of the moon and can know exactly what time the full month is reached.
Observations led to the fact that during a cycle of about 18 years, the times of moon's perigee (the closest it can be to earth) and full moon (when it is brightest) become close to each other and then farther from each other and so on. The term "supermoon" is given to the time when, in this cycle of 18 years, the times of perigee and full moon are closest. The bright moon will be closest to earth at this time than, let's say, nine years later when the perigee and full moon are farthest from each other. Last March, moon's perigee was only 59 minutes away from the full moon. On 6 May 2012, this difference will narrow down to only 2 minutes. This will be the supermoon of the current cycle. In 2013 and 2014, there will be two more similar incidents where the difference between perigee and full moon is less than one hour, but not as close as the 2012 one.
The controversy is not whether there's something called "supermoon", but how close perigee and full moon should be to each other, and how close the moon should be to earth, to say that the moon is supermoon?
Since there's no definite answer to this question, I will give another approach to answering the question posted here. The approach relies on the fact that at a certain time of the year, there's a time when the perigee and full moon are closest. The question can be: is there a lunar and/or solar eclipse at this time? The answer is yes. First, these are lunar eclipses that coincide with such times:

28 September 2015: The moon will reach perigee at 1:47UT and full moon at 2:52UT (1:05 hours difference). There will be a total lunar eclipse from 1:07UT to 04:27UT.
8 October 2033: The moon will reach perigee at 12:13UT and full moon at 11:00UT (1:13 hours difference). There will be a total lunar eclipse from 9:14UT to 12:36UT.
      19 October 2051: Perigee 22:42UT; Full moon 19:15UT (3:27 hours difference). Total lunar eclipse 17:28UT to 20:52UT.
      30 October 2069: Perigee 9:17UT; Full moon 3:38UT (5:39 hours difference). Total lunar eclipse 1:50UT to 5:16UT.
      28 June 2075: Perigee 8:15UT; Full moon 9:49 (1:34 hours difference). Partial lunar eclipse 8:35UT to 11:12UT.
      10 November 2087: Perigee 19:57UT; Full moon 12:08 (6:49 hours difference). Total lunar eclipse 10:19UT to 13:46UT.
      8 July 2093: Perigee 18:20UT; Full moon 17:17UT (1:03 hours difference). Partial lunar eclipse 16:10UT to 18:32UT.

These are now solar eclipses close to such times:

20 May 2012: Annular solar eclipse two weeks after perigee-full moon.
13 September 2015: Partial solar eclipse two weeks before perigee-full moon.
6 February 2027: Annular solar eclipse 16 days after perigee-full moon.
26 January 2028: Annular solar eclipse 15 days before perigee-full moon.
23 September 2033: Partial solar eclipse 15 days before perigee-full moon.
5 February 2046: Annular solar eclipse 16 days before perigee-full moon.
11 June 2048: Annular solar eclipse 15 days after perigee-full moon.
4 October 2051: Partial solar eclipse 15 days before perigee-full moon.
24 October 2060: Annular solar eclipse two weeks before perigee-full moon.
22 June 2066: Annular solar eclipse two weeks after perigee-full moon.
15 October 2069: Partial solar eclipse 15 days before perigee-full moon.
13 July 2075: Annular solar eclipse 15 days after perigee-full moon.
4 November 2078: Annular solar eclipse 15 days before perigee-full moon.
10 March 2081: Annular solar eclipse 15 days after perigee-full moon.
3 July 2084: Annular solar eclipse 15 days before perigee-full moon.
26 October 2087: Partial eclipse 15 days before perigee-full moon.
23 July 2093: Annular eclipse 15 days after perigee-full moon.
15 November 2096: Annular eclipse two weeks before perigee-full moon.
21 March 2099: Annular eclipse 15 days after perigee-full moon.

When it time for the snake Chinese horoscope?
    I seen a shooting star I'm a snake

    • ANSWER:
The Chinese New Year falls on the second new moon after the winter solstice. The winter solstice always falls on December 22nd, the next new moon is on January 11th 2013, and the second new moon is on February 10th 2013. So the Year of the Snake officially begins on February 10th 2013.

Here are some of the traits attributed to people born under your sign:

Positive: The Snake can be amiable, compromising, fun-loving, altruistic, honorable, sympathetic, philosophical, charitable, a paragon of fashion, intuitive, discreet, diplomatic, amusing and sexy.

Negative: The Snake can also be self-righteous, imperious, judgmental, conniving, mendacious, grabby, clinging, pessimistic, fickle, haughty, ostentatious and a very sore loser.

when is the next solar eclipse in New Zealand?

    • ANSWER:
      Hi NZ!

You'll see a solar eclipse this February, the afternoon of Friday February 8th in New Zealand.

At mid eclipse, around 5:30 p.m. NZ Summer Time in the South Island, and closer to 6 p.m. in the North Island, about 60% of the solar disc will be blocked by the moon, February 8, 2008.

The eclipses of 2012 and 2013 will not be total in New Zealand. The one on November 13, 2012 will be 85% partial at Auckland, but in Invercargill it will be no better than the February 8th 2008 eclipse. You won't even notice the 2013 eclipse in New Zealand.

You want to see a TOTAL eclipse of the sun? New Zealand is extraordinarily blessed with them starting in about 20 years! There will be not one! not two! but THREE total solar eclipses in New Zealand, in 2028, 2037 and 2038! And on top of that, an annular eclipse in 2035. I've never seen one region with so many eclipses in such a short period of under 11 years!

Good viewing, and I envy you!

When is the next blue moon month?

    • ANSWER:
For the year 2008, these are the dates of the moons in the northern hemisphere. These dates use the actual solstices and not the artificial solstices that give each season an equal number of days.

      January 8 - February 5 → Mid Winter moon
      February 6 - March 6 → Late Winter moon
      March 7 - April 4 → Early Spring moon
      April 5 - May 4 → Mid Spring moon
      May 5 - June 2 → Blue moon
      June 3 - July 2 → Late Spring moon
      July 3 - July 31 → Early Summer moon
      August 1 - August 29 → Mid Summer moon
      August 30 - September 28 → Late Summer moon
      September 29 - October 27 → Early Fall moon
      October 28 - November 26 → Mid Fall moon
      November 27 - December 26 → Late Fall moon

The following Blue Moons occur between 2005 and 2015. These dates use UTC as the timezone, months will vary with different timezones.

If the Farmer's Almanac definition of blue moon is taken (meaning the third full moon in a season of four full moons) then blue moons occur:

      August 19, 2005
      February 21, 2008
      November 21, 2010
      August 21, 2013

However, if the "Calendar Blue Moon" definition is taken (meaning the second full moon in any given month) then blue moons occur:

      June 30, 2007
      December 31, 2009
      August 31, 2012
      July 31, 2015

It is worth noting that the year 2018 (as well as 2037, 1961, 1942, 1999 etc.) will have two "calendar blue moons" (i.e. a second full moon in a given month) in January and March, but no full moon in February (i.e. a black moon).

"Summer 1966: Kaoru Nishimi has moved to live with relatives in Kyūshū. He's been an aloof honor student his whole life, but that starts changing when he meets Sentarō Kawabuchi, the school's notorious bad boy. Through him, he learns the appeal of jazz and forms his first real friendships."

"Rintaro Okabe is a self-proclaimed "mad scientist" who believes that an international scientific organization named SERN is conspiring to reshape the world according to its own interests. He and his friend Itaru Hashida inadvertently create a gadget able to send messages to the past. The discovery and experimentation of this instrument become the catalyst of fundamental alterations to the present. Okabe is the only one aware of these changes because he possesses a Reading Steiner, the ability to retain the memories from previous experienced timelines. Oblivious of the consequences of their actions, Rintaro and his friends end up creating modifications of grievous proportions. He must then try to find a way to return as close as possible to the original timeline in order to save his precious lab partners."

"In the year 2075, mankind has reached a point where journeying between Earth, the moon and the space stations is part of daily life. San Diego International Comic-Con 2013, I'm a newbie, please HELP!?
Alright so February 14th is when badges go on sale, I'm already signed up and ready to buy as soon as they become available though my cousin might not have money at the time so I'm prepared to be paying for 2 adult tickets, all 4 days with preview night. She's dressing regular, I'm preparing a really elaborate Lion King cosplay and possibly a Sailor Moon or Adventure Time one as well.

Unfortunately, I am broke at the time being and have been previewing hotels but just about every one near the convention center is booked solid for the con. Any hotels a tiny bit further away that might be good for us to stay at? Also some good restaurants that aren't cheap but moderately priced and yummy as well?

We'll be driving there since we only live like 2 hours away so transportation isn't a big issue ...except when it comes to taking the shuttle. Any idea where can I find the schedule for that?

I was told waiting in line is the main part of everyone's day and I don't have a problem with that at all because my costume is comfortable. I also heard the vendor food is horrible so I'm prepared to stock up on the water and Snackadees. Also got a wireless charger for my phone.

The panels we'd like to go to include (if they have them): Adventure Time, Supernatural, Scandal, Dexter, True Blood, Regular Show, Hunger Games, The Walking Dead, Deception, DC comics, Girls, Being Human (both UK and US), X-Men, Misfits, and that's about it. Think we'll be able to catch em all in the span of 4 days? I was hoping since Marvel is always stealing the show (and I HATE Marvel...besides X-Men obviously) that it'd be easy to get into everything else but I hear the rooms change and it gets a bit confusing...

Any tips or help would be much appreciated and if I'm getting something wrong or you've got any better ideas or anything to add, please tell me about it all! Thanks so much ^_^

    • ANSWER:
Tickets go on sale on the 16th not the 14th

Shuttles are run from the participating hotels so it all depends on what hotel you are staying. If you are not staying at one of the hotels then taking the shuttle might be problematic.

The best thing to do is to park free at one of the trolley stops that have plenty of parking (Old Town, Qualcomm Stadium, Mission Valley Center) and take the trolley downtown. The trolley takes you right to the front door and is a lot quicker than the buses or car. Traffic downtown is gridlock during the convention. Old Town parking fills early on weekdays because a lot of people who work downtown park their to commute. If you are not early, your best bet is Mission Valley Center or Qualcomm.

As for eats, everything in the gaslamp is pretty expensive but there are a few sandwich shops around. During the convention the whole Gaslamp is a zoo. A lot of the places are rented out as hospitality suites. A few are open for free snacks and drinks to convention goers. If you have your badge, you get in.

One of my favorite places to eat is a couble of blocks away. Kansas City Barbeque is located at the Seaport Village trolley stop. Best BBQ in town, inexpensive, and it's where they filmed the bar scene in Top Gun. Plenty of interesting memorabilia on the walls and it also has outside dining.

Old Town has one of the best Italian restaurants in town. Pizza Bella features home made Italian food made from Mama Bella's recipes. During the day their courtyard is open for outdoor dining. It's one block from the Old Town trolley stop.

Farthur from downtown and one of my favorite Mexican places is El Indio. Serving Mexican food since 1940, it's a short walk from the Washington St. trolley stop. It's where the taquito was invented.

Have you gotten a psychic reading lately? & what it about?
BQ: How open are you to your destiny? lol ^^

    • ANSWER:
I got one in July on the boardwalk at the jersey shore. This lady is for real because first of all she told two of my friends the guys they were going to meet, what they looked like, their initials and what they do for a living. My best friend met her boyfriend like two days after she got back from the shore and the other friend met her boyfriend a week later. The psychic told her to stay away from him though because he is no good but she didn't listen. She was right, bad things happened with them.

First thing she told me was that I don't fall in love easily, men have to earn my love, I'm very picky, and that is a good thing because I will marry only once and there will be no divorce. She said I've had a rough couple of years due to illness (I was diagnosed with crohn's disease a few years ago, I didn't mention it at all and I don't look sick either) but not to worry because I will live til my late 80's and have all my senses. She told me that I'll meet the man I'm going to marry in February or march of 2013 and his name will have many R's, its nobody I know yet. We'll date for 3 years before we are engaged, 5 total before we are married and we'll have 2 children. Then she said "wait, You were pregnant before. So you have one left. You were supposed to have a boy and a girl, you changed your fate though." I literally had chills because how could she know that!? Virtually nobody knows. So she couldn't tell if the boy or girl was left. Then she said I would be a good teacher or psychologist, but college is expensive and I won't have to work after marriage any way. I asked her what this guy is going to look like and She said he has light skin, dark hair and dark eyes and he's 5 years older than me. Then she said something that the psychic here in my town told me years ago. She said that when I meet him then I will really know what love is, that I haven't experienced true love yet, but I will have boyfriends in the time before I meet him and to just have fun because I need it after everything I've been through.

BQ: I believe in destiny but after this lady gave me a reading, I know now that it can be changed. I'm not listening to her when it comes to college. I'm still going because what if I don't meet this guy? I'll wind up being middle aged, single and only have My high school diploma. In other words, be doomed to a crap job. I'd like to have something in my control. And since then I have really no interest in guys. If I only have one child left I want to save it for the man I'm going to marry.

NASA is generally very open with Americans about what's going on in space. They told of the passing of Asteroid 2012 DA14 for days, weeks, months and 1 year before it happened (it was discovered in Feb 2012), they even filmed it; the Washington Post prints a lot of NASA's discoveries, and FOX News reports NASA events all the time...

On Feb 1, 2013 the federal government and NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory at California Institute of Technology issued a public news release of the February 15, 2013 event, along with detailed diagrams stating it would pass on Feb 15 at about 11:24 a.m. PST/ 2:24 p.m. EST / 1924 UTC, at a distance of about 27,700 kilometers (17,200 miles) above Earth's surface. At it's closes the asteroid will be only about 1/13th of the distance to the moon at a speed of 17,400 mph.

It was predicted to pass inside the ring of geosynchronous weather and communications satellites, located 22,200 miles above the euqator but that it would be above the vast majority of satellites, including the International Space Station. It holds the record close approach for a known object of this size. An actual collision by an object of this size would be expected about once every 1,200 years on average.

As a person that's been on the earth for a while, I can say that NASA if often quite proud and happy to share their discoveries.

    • ANSWER:
Well, Today is 1/03/2013 according to Gregorian calendar and the lunar date is 11/22/2012.
Chinese New Year 2013 will take place in February 9 and end in 24 the same month. It is the most important festival in Chinese culture, which is celebrated on the new moon of the first month according to the lunar calendar, and is a time for family reunions and scrumptious feasts. Actually, we call the first day of the new year according to Gregorian calendar as 元旦(yuan2dan4), while we call that according to lunar calendar as 春节(chun1 jie2).

my d.o.b is 10-02-1972 born in delhi on 2.26am why i had to struggle in every phase of life?
some suggests i had grahan dosh is it so will i be sucessful in my new job

    • ANSWER:
No... there is no grahan dosh...
Grahan either was app. on 29th or 30th of January, or was to be held on 13th or 14th of February, whereas u born on 10th of February... ( negligible effect)

Your question why I had to struggle... You appears to be a kind hearted person..Moon in LAGAN makes you a person having poetic feelings (Kalpanaaon me khona) Saturn from 7th house looking at the LAGAN.It gives SADNESS (Udaasi).. Deley in marriage is also caused due to 7th house Saturn,Sometimes you feel fed up with life... People do not respect your feelings and mostly hurt you and try to play with your sentiments...Venus makes you an artist...Keep your feelings controlled and be bold... Life is given by almighty GOD to live with boldness... it should not be hated....

Problems at present are due to the reason, because SUN is in the house of SATURN. They are enemies... And at present your period (Mahadasha) of SUN is going on, started from 26.05.2007,which will end on 26.05.2013. Short period (Antardasha) of Mercury started on 14.03.2011 and it will end on 20.01.2012.Mercury is owner of 8th house, hence not so good...
After 20.01.2012 you will see a great change in your life... You will get all things favourable after 20.01.2012...

Your new job... If it is got recently... it will be quite secured and successful...dont worry...

All the best for your upcoming favourable life period...!!!

My G-Shock 7900 A's moon graph is blank. Please help!!!?
The moon graph still works, I changed the number from 13.2 to 12.2 and a half moon appeared and I am only having this problem today... Is it the date? What is the problem?

    • ANSWER:
I presume that this watch shows the phase of the Moon for the current date. The Moon is currently 13 days old and 97% illuminated, so is almost Full, a full circle except for a slight shading along the left edge. I don't understand what you mean by "the number." Are you setting it to that date? The Moon's phase on 2013 February 13 will be a waxing crescent, 13% illuminated. Or is "the number" something else?

Will C/2013 A1 be vissable and for how long?

    • ANSWER:
It may become visible in medium to large telescopes, however this comet isn't going to get closer than 1.396 AU to the Sun (which is outside Earth's orbit).

      From Wikipedia link below:

"C/2013 A1 (Siding Spring) is an Oort cloud comet discovered on 3 January 2013 by Robert H. McNaught at Siding Spring Observatory using a 0.5-meter (20 in) Schmidt telescope. Precovery images of the comet by the Catalina Sky Survey from 8 December 2012 were quickly found. Observations by Leonid Elenin on 27 February 2013, suggested the comet might pass 0.000276 AU (41,300 km; 25,700 mi) from the center-point of Mars. On 3 March 2013, Pan-STARRS precovery images from 4 October 2012 were announced that extended the observation arc to 148 days. At the time of discovery the comet was 7.2 AU from the Sun and located in the constellation Lepus.

The comet will pass extremely close to Mars on 19 October 2014; there is even a small possibility that it could impact the planet. Using a Monte-Carlo method the comet shows roughly a 1 in 1250 chance (0.08%) of impacting Mars. On 19 October 2014, Mars will be in the constellation Ophiuchus, and will only be 60 degrees from the Sun. Mars and the comet will be visible to the STEREO-A spacecraft during the 2014 encounter. The comet's tail is more or less pointed away from Mars during the close encounter."

Since you're interested in comets, I thought I'd add the following:

    Best date for surgery?
Happy holidays!! Please help our family. My mother is trying to schedule a bariatric surgery. The lower part of the stomach will be operated on. I was trying to help her pick the dates, but I only know very basic guidelines. My mom was born on 02/04/1965 at 4:20 am in Kuznetsk, Russia. The surgery can happen in February or March 2013 (but the February moon will be in her sun sign) in Tijuana, Mexico. My mother is a single parent who has a young son. We are very anxious. Planning the date astrologically will help me not lose my mind. (My mother, though, had a dream in which a miracle happened on March 2nd. )God bless you!

I appreciate the support but I've posted this in the horoscopes because I really hope that, maybe, someone could take a look at transits in her chart?

Do you think Doomsday Asteroid is actually Jesus trying to come back?
A near-Earth asteroid – called 2012 DA14 by astronomers – will pass very close to Earth on February 15, 2013. Astronomers estimate that, when it’s closest to us, it’ll be within the orbit of the moon (which is about 240,000 miles away), and within the orbits of geosynchronous satellites (about 26,000 miles up). 2012 DA14 will be about 21,000 miles (35,000 kilometers) away. It will not strike Earth in 2013.

New images captured by a European space telescope of the huge asteroid Apophis as it passes Earth, revealing it to be much bigger than previously thought. It has been described as a 'doomsday asteroid' because of a study that predicted a 2.7% chance of the rock hitting Earth when it passes within 22,364 miles of our planet in April 2029

but, yes, super beings have been reported to ride around on lighting and magical stairways, so yes, an asteroid would be no more silly or improbable than any other method of travel that super beings seem to prefer.

how many times does a lunar eclipes happen every year??

    • ANSWER:
A lunar eclipse occurs during a Full Moon when the Earth is between the Sun and the Moon and when the Moon passes through some of the Earth's shadow. The Earth's shadow has two parts:

Umbra - dark inner shadow. Total lunar eclipses occur when the entire Moon passes through the umbral shadow. Partial lunar eclipses occur when only a portion of the Moon passes through the umbral shadow.

Penumbra - faint outer shadow. Penumbral lunar eclipses occur when the Moon passes through the penumbral shadow but are very difficult to observer so are of internest mainly to astonomers.

    • ANSWER:
Hey Meenakshi.... wt do u wan 2 know frm this chart dear.....?

    The time of solar eclipses?
Since the declination of the earth on the solar orbit is roughly +/- 23.5 degrees and the moon's declination on its orbit is roughly +/- 5 degrees, one would think that solar eclipses happen around the equinoxes, right? But when I look at this site:
It looks like they are more around the solstices than the equinoxes. I must have my geometry wrong but I don't know why. Do you? Thanks in advance.

    • ANSWER:
On the sky, the ecliptic forms one great circle, and the moon's orbit forms another. Imagine drawing a line (in 3-space, passing through the observer) between the two points at which they intersect. This line goes through the ascending and descending nodes of the moon's orbit (relative to the ecliptic).

The important point is that this line slowly rotates through the ecliptic with a period of 18.6 years. (It's like a rotating spoke that forms the diameter of a wheel.) This 18.6-year cycle is known as the regression of the lunar nodes. Only once every 9.3 years does this line lie in the plane of the celestial equator; at that time, it passes through the equinox points.

Thus, we have the following inclinations:
      - moon's orbit to ecliptic: 5 degrees
      - equator to ecliptic: 23.4 degrees
      - moon's orbit to equator: varies from 18.4 to 28.4 degrees (and back) over an 18.6 year cycle

(edit: I'm not sure how clear this is, so let me try another approach. Imagine that you represent the ecliptic as a circle on a horizontal plane. Now imagine another circle with the same center and radius, but inclined to the first circle by 5 degrees. This second circle represents the path of the moon on the celestial sphere. It touches the ecliptic at two points, which are the moon's ascending and descending nodes. Now imagine that you grab this inclined circle and rotate it about a vertical axis through the center. The circle maintains its 5-degree inclination, but the nodes rotate with respect to the ecliptic. The rotation speed is one full turn every 18.6 years.)

Eclipses are not concentrated about the solstices, nor about the equinoxes. On the average, they can occur any time of the year.

Eclipses can occur only when the moon is near one of its two nodes (where its orbit meets the ecliptic). When the moon is near either node, we have an "eclipse season", when we will have two or three eclipses.

If eclipse seasons were separated by six months, eclipses would always occur about the same time each year. The important thing is this: The time between eclipse seasons is not 6 months, but rather 173.31 days. Thus, the time of eclipses slowly rotates back relative to the time of year. After 9.3 years (half the time of lunar node regression), the eclipse seasons return to the same time of year (but with ascending and descending nodes switched). After 18.6 years (the full time of lunar regression), the same geometry occurs at the same time of year.

Thus, if you look at eclipses over just a couple of years, you might think that they occur at the solstices or at the equinoxes. If you look at them over a long period, however, you'll see that they occur quite uniformly through the year.

Here's a specific example. Let's look at the dates of solar eclipses from 2005 to 2014. (The dates of lunar eclipses could be used equally well.)

      2005 eclipses: April, October
      2006 eclipses: March, September
      2007 eclipses: March, September
      2008 eclipses: February, August
      2009 eclipses: January, July
      2010 eclipses: January, July
      2011 eclipses: January, July, November
      2012 eclipses: May, November
      2013 eclipses: May, November
      2014 eclipses: April,October

Note that after 9 years, we're back to the same months; 2014 has eclipses in the same months as 2005.

The eclipse seasons have a periodicity of 173.31 days, but the precise dates of eclipses also depend on the dates on which new and full moons happen to fall. That's why the shift in months shown above is pretty regular, but not perfectly so.

There's a lot more I could add here, but I don't want to make the answer too long. Two other important lunar cycles are the saros (18.03) years and the metonic cycle (19.00 years), but they are numerically artificial cycles -- not a genuine physical cycle like the regression of the nodes.

Eclipses aren't exactly uniform during the year. Because perihelion occurs in January, annular eclipses occur slightly more often around January, and total eclipses slightly more often around July. (In January, the sun's disk is larger, so it is less likely that the moon will block it completely.) Since the day is longer in the northern hemisphere in July, people in the northern hemisphere see a slightly greater ratio of total to annular solar eclipses than people in the southern hemisphere.

(edit: Corrected word above -- perihelion, not aphelion.)

I want to be a LPN, information?
I want to be a LPN, and I'm in my final year of high school, Senior year. So, I'd just like to know how long I'll be in college for this, what classes I'll take, just the roundabout of it. Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
A Practical Nursing program takes about 1 year (going year-round, full time). Keep in mind that most hospitals are phasing out LPNs. Right now, the biggest boon in jobs for LPNs is in the extended care facilities (nursing homes) or rehab centers (for long-term injury recovery, not celebrity "detox" rehab).

Also, Akron Public Schools has a Practical Nursing program, but it doesn't show up as NLN-accredited. If you are interested in that program, you need to see how attending their program would affect you if you wanted to become an RN later using an LPN to RN program.

Will we be able to see asteroid 2012 DA14?

    • ANSWER:

It is too small and too far away and moving a little to fast across the sky...

It has an estimated diameter of about 45 meters and an estimated mass of about 130,000 metric tons. It was discovered on February 23, 2012, by the OAM Observatory, La Sagra in Spain.

Calculations show that on February 15, 2013, the distance between the asteroid and the Earth will be about 35,000 km (21,000 mi). That's about 10% the distance of the moon.

    Astrology: Question for Mr Nupakry?
    Dear Sir,
My birth date is 3rd February 1977, at 10:08 in the morning and I was born in Singapore. I have two areas of concern sir. My career and my relationship.

For my career, I have had a lot of trouble getting a permanent job. I love to write and want to know if I will get a good job that will allow me to travel and will pay me well so that I can build in my life? And should I stay in my birth country or do you think I should go elsewhere? I have tried very hard to get a good job, but no luck. Please tell me what I should do or how long I have to wait for before I have stability and happiness in my career?

And also sir, can you please tell me when I will marry? I am seeing someone now, this is my second relationship. It has been difficult but I love him very much. Do you see us marrying and settling down? Thank you vey much and God bless.

    • ANSWER:
Hi, I am very very happy to reply to your question because I am on 9998. This two points will take me to 10,000 and 6th level.

      As per Vedic System.

Born on Thursday, Pushyami Nakshtara, Cancer is your Moon Sing and Aries Rising sign.

From 1989 to 2006 it was Mercury’s major period. This period would have given you mixed results but the negative aspects gaining upper hand.

Then started the Major period of Ketu (from 2006 to 2013). In Ketu’s major period you still under the Sub-Period of Venus till December 2007. Therefore, you maintain patience till then. However the Ketu’s period will be overall normal.

Your horoscope is above average and has got good merit. Especially, you have a powerful Yoga called Ishta Bala-meaning-you will not like any one dictating you and you like to be alone and free. You will be having extraordinary imagination power. [You must have good knowledge in astrology also-if NO, and then start learning]. You tongue should be sharp and powerful with measured talk.

In the past you would have got many golden chances but you would have let many of them to skip away due to your OWN weakness. Please see the Rahu occupying the seventh house thus putting you under negative aspects very easily. You have a habit of taking quick decision and many a time your quick decision would have proved costly to you.

In other word you were under Saturn’s grim grip till July 200t (from September 2004 to July 2007). That part is over, so you will feel major relief form now.

(Last week I wrote an article for a local magazine, you read the same:)

After getting divorce from the legal court, and marrying for another time in her life, Richa, who hailed from a reasonably well to do family and only daughter to her parent, personally approached us to find the fact for facing disappointment even in her second married life. We analyzed her Chart and found the lord of inauspicious eighth house being powerfully placed in the seventh house and lord of seventh house (house of marriage) attaining debilitation in her horoscope. Hence a clear indication of disappointment in the married life was traced in her horoscope.

Richa’s story goes in this way: Her marriage was performed in a grandest manner in a traditional way. Nevertheless, after her divorce, Richa’s father blamed the astrologers for mismatching the Charts; her mother blamed the pundits for choosing wrong time for the auspicious ceremony (marriage). Her relatives blamed the boy and his parents…. Thus, nobody paid any attention to the planetary position in the girl’s horoscope.

At home she did not enjoy the same aromatic atmosphere that she enjoyed before her first marriage. She saw frown faces alone with every one instead of those broad smiles. After initial denial for remarriage, she finally accepted for marriage and her second marriage was performed in a temple in small way but after through matching of horoscope from leading astrologers.

After being ‘happy’ for three months, she once again started developing misunderstand with her new husband. This time she did not dare to complain to her parents and she decided to consult astrologers to find out the real cause for her suffering in her married life through her Birth Chart thus she approached us with her horoscope.

Richa came under the nasty Maha Dasha of Rahu just two months after her first marriage, Rahu, which was placed in the seventh house in her Chart had to cause hurdles and disappointment in her married life whether she married X or Y or Z and there was no escape from paying the penalty. However, in order to escape the “punishment” in the married life she approached the court to get legal divorce and got legally separated from her first husband.

We made her understand the position of Rahu in the seventh house in her horoscope due to the severe sin committed in her past birth and also advised her to adopt adjustability at least till the end of Rahu’s sub-period in the Maha Dasha of Rahu or wait till a new soul to come in to her life (in the form of birth of a child). Richa agreed with us and sincerely followed our advice. No doubt she experienced a horrible life till the end of Rahu’s sub-period with her drunkard husband and heartless in laws but she conceived at the fag end of Rahu’s sub-period and delivered a child thereupon. She immediately sent message of birth of a child and its birth detail to us and requested us to read immediately the horoscope and found whether the power of the horoscope of the newborn would rescue her.

We understood the anxiety of Richa and her curiosity to know whether her newborn child would bring her luck. We analyzed the Chart of the child and found certain powerful Yoga present in that. We prepared a brief astrological report of the child and sent them to Richa to her hospital bed. While she read our analyzed report, there rolled a river of tears from her eyes. Perhaps those tears should have finally washed away all her previous birth sins…. because in course of time after the birth of child, Richa’s husband started loving her as anything… her in laws started treating her as their own daughter…she felt as if she had entered in to new hopeful life… and as of now Richa has become grandmother.

Astrologers: Which Uranus transit is stronger?
which one of these two transits are stronger?

    1) Uranus trine AscendantBeginning of April 2012 until beginning of March 2013
    2) Uranus opposition MoonEnd of June 2012 until end of February 2014

Uranus is going retro for a while now and it's totally affecting my chart.
    Moon Libra 9°
    Ascendant Leo6°
(I will not post my entire chart in public)

The Uranus opp. Moon scares me because it goes retrograde all the time and seems to bring bad luck in romance.
Thank you for the answer GibBas

Do you know what sites can provide you the house transits for free?

    • ANSWER:
Remember, transit aspects should be within 1 degree of the natal chart planets or cusps.
The Uranus trine ascendant is a time when new people come into your life and usually they are beneficial in some way, but this is still a time when you want to make changes so things have to be thought thru' well before taking any drastic actions.
Uranus transit the Moon can be quite testing though because it can affect the home as well as your dealings with women; any hysteria or tantrums can come from women you're in contact with, it may not be from you though; it's just that you may attract these sorts of people at this time. Romances may not be quite what they seem when or if you start any at this time. Someone new could come right out of the blue and you fall head over heels for them, only for things to fall flat when the transit finishes. As regards this transit, you should look at the houses with Aquarius and Cancer on the cusp; these are areas of your life where these emotions etc could surface or come to fruition, as well as the house with the Moon and transit Aquarius in.

If you go to astrodienst free chart, enter your birth details to get your chart and then click on extended chart selection and select natal chart wheel and then select natal chart with transits.
Or you can just get the position of todays planets and mark them on your natal chart.

why do people want to ignore earthchanges and say nothings any worse than ever before?
More Earthquakes and volcanoes at once than any time before. Sure we have internet and ways of hearing about it faster and no that only makes it look like more to idiots, and skeptics.

3 Comets and 5 Asteroids Coming in Fall 2011 and some are big and may get dangerously close to us.

    1) ASTEROID 2005 YU55 is closest to Earth on November 9, 2011 at .0022au. YU55 is expected to cross between the orbit of moon and the earth passing the earth by only 200000 miles. YU55 is estimated to be 1300 feet in diameter.

    2) ASTEROID 2005 GO21 is closest to Earth on June 22, 2012 at .442au.

    3) ASTEROID 4179 TOUTATIS is closest to Earth on December 12, 2012 at .0503au. Toutatis comes close to Earth again and is at its closest for exactly 4 days straight on December 25, 26, 27, 28, 2016 at .207au. Toutatis is estimated to be 2.8 miles by 1.5 miles wide.

    4) ASTEROID 99942 APOPHIS is closest to Earth on January 9, 2013 at .096au, but follows Earth for many months. Apophis is estimated to be 1200 feet in diameter.

    5) COMET 45P/HONDA is closest to Earth on August 18, 2011 at .0766au. Honda comes close to Earth again on February 13, 2016 at .0677au (closer to Earth than in 2011). Honda is estimated to be 1 mile in diameter. It’s a periodic comet which follows an elliptical, five and a quarter years orbit around our Sun commencing from the Ophiuchus constellation at the Galactic Equator. This year, it will be the closest approach by a comet since D/1770 L1 (Lexell) in 1770 and C/1983 H1 (IRAS-Araki-Alcock) in 1983. With the exception of 1954 and 1990, Comet 45P/Honda’s aphelion has become increasingly closer to earth. Honda has passed in close proximity with Earth, Venus and Jupiter since it’s discovery in 1948. Interestingly, when it passed Earth at 0.23 AU from Earth on February 5, 1975, China had a 7.3 magnitude earthquake on February 4, 1975.

    6) COMET P/2006 T7 (LEVY) is closest to Earth on January 7, 2012 at .453au. Levy comes close to Earth again and is at its closest for exactly 6 days straight on April 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 2017 at 1.399au. Levy is estimated to be 1.2 miles in diameter.

C/2010 X1 (Elenin) was discovered in December 2010 by Russian astronomer Leonid Elenin, using equipment at the International Scientific Optical Network’s robotic observatory. From the beginning it became apparent that C/2010 X1 (Elenin) was behaving oddly. Usually comets with a very long period are not in the same plane as our solar system’s planets. They’re random travelers coming in from any direction before being captured by our sun’s gravity. C/2010 X1 (Elenin) is traveling on the very same elliptic plane as Earth as if it’s been a part of our solar system from the very beginning.
One other thing – C/2010 X1 (Elenin) comes from beyond our solar system. Every other comet, including Kohoutek, has come from within the Oort Cloud.. C/2010 X1 (Elenin) comes from so far away that its orbital path isn’t even completed on the JPL site!

Another concern is that C/2010 X1 (Elenin) has a coma (tail) which will be considerably long. Some reports state the coma has exceed 100,000 km.

Contrary to logic, a comets tail always points away from the sun. On September 24th 2011 the Earth and Comet Elenin and the Sun align, with C/2010 X1 (Elenin) directly in between the Earth and the Sun. The comet’s tail will be pointed directly at us.

In the first 50 days of this year we’ve experienced everything under the sun and moon.
    1) massive floods and sinkholes
    2) over 200 earthquakes
    3) snow storms and cyclones,
    4) over 50 recently activated volcanoes
    5) five million mysterious animal deaths.

does anyone have an answer that does not involve calling me a moron or nut job? I would like to know with all thats going on how can people ignore all this?

    • ANSWER:
We live in a consumerist fantasy world, and the majority of people prefer to maintain this fantasy. Besides, what can anyone do about any of those things? Nobody can stop a comet or an earthquake. Most people would just prefer to earn money and buy things to satisfy their desires with their time, instead of worrying about impending doom.
