  9. QUESTION:
What to watch next: Beyond Full Metal Alchemist?
So my husband convinced me to watch Full Metal Alchemist and now I'm hooked on anime. Of course the jerk waited until after I finished it to tell me that it was the best and anything else is going to seem sad in comparison. Men.

Where to go from here? Any anime you would consider on par or at least a close runner up to Full Metal? Anime movies would be appreciated too.

    Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
If you liked Full Metal Alchemist, I'd move to Escaflowne at some point.

The Problem is Fox got it in the US ( the TV Station.. many years ago) and so there were a ton of problems and they had to release the DVDs/Vids a couple of times,.. they got complaints and aired things out of order some times.. ode the Drama.

Escaflowne is about a girl that travels to another world by mystery means ( of course,.. naturally because Anime likes to do that). This world is in a Paralellel universe where they can see the Earth of their universe and it's just a moon or whatever. You of course have boyfriend interest and trying to get home,.. but the world is nice to emerse in. There are Animal People, Catgirls, Knights,.. Mechas,.. magic, Dragons,.. Angels,..... and one girl being tossed around and shown off that's trying to make herself have a talent and be helpful to them all. Avoid the movie and the Animation may be odd.

There is an Anime that's paired with FMA in Anime Music Videos and I thought it was Full Metal Panic but it's not.. so if you can search for it on a desc. The main chars seem to be an Elf and a Nun,.. but the Nun seems to have a locket from FMA,.. so maybe it's by the same company or artist.. and the Locket/Watch spews out fun signs like the Alchemist draw.. the time period is about the same too.. maybe 10-20 years later. I am so helpful today >.>

If you want to annoy your husband, start watching Ah! My Goddess ( the new series just drags like it's an American daily soap). The two series [of Ah! My Goddess] seem slightly different in what happens. In both the Main character accidently calls the Goddess hotline and, thinking it's a prank, wishes the Goddess that appears will stay with him forever. Now in the first series they made it seem like people got a final Wish before they died and since the Goddess and the boy were stuck together,.. well.. she intervened saving the boy from his fate. In the new series [which as far as I watched doesn't act like this is a last wish deal] they just have to explain everything and the slight difference in music and animation takes a while to adjust.

I have 15 spelling mistakes XD I think I'll give up for now.

Oh wait,.. one more. You might want to watch Battle Angel Alita,.. AKA Gully. I don't know which name you will find it under.. I think they have three series now. It's become a popular theme but I'm pretty sure the Manga started before Ghost in the Shell ( the first movie). Just,.. you know.. the future is trashed and there are Cyborgs, Andriods, Robots.. stuff like that. Main characters are an Andriod/Cyborg/Robot/Whatever they went with and her "Father". I'm bringing this up because James Cameron or whatever his name some how got dibs on the Movie... It keeps shifting back and forth if it will be live action or pureple Computer Graphics.. the person playing the main character keeps shifting, too. For a while it looked like it would be Jessica Alba,.. but I can't keep up with who is who in it and I gave up.

Added: It's been half an hour, I've thought of more posiblities.

Magic Users Club -- Teens form a Covenant in school as their Club ( they go bonkers makeing clubs in Japanese schools and your expected to be part of them). They are all naive, shy, flakey teenagers though.. you might expect better results from your cat.

Slayers! -- Short woman,.. running around with tall dumb blonde guy,.. doing magic.. and totalling being screwed around with by the universe.

Socerer Hunters -- I don't know,.. I always got this and Slayers! titles reversed ( so did everyone else I knew when I first saw these). If you've seen Cowboy Bebop,.. it's like a few Faye Valentines.. actually trying to work for a living by being Bounty Hunters of a different sort.. and not doing very well.. with guys in the group. Option 1: Capture someone and get money. Option 2: Tease males and sun bath... Pick Option 2 now and wonder why you're too broke to eat XD

Those Who Hunt the Elves -- I haven't seen this ( that I can recall) but from what I recall way back in the 90's,.. it should be some what like FMA.

The # 1 party island with hot chicks is Koh Chang. It is across the gulf from Samui on the Thai/Cambodian side.If you are looking for an island to see then I strongly suggest Koh Chang. You can take a bus there from Mo Chit bus station,Bangkok.I have lived here in Thailand for years and have seen at least 90% of the country and have seen almost all of the islands.I consider it to be the most beautiful island in Thailand.Koh Chang has everything a person could be looking for in an island. It is the second largest island in the country,it has the largest cloud ringed mountains of any island here, only one side is touristy(but not too much)and the other side is almost people-less.You can feel truly cast away while standing on secret white sand beaches being the only people around. The touristy side has a law that restricts any building to be built over 3 stories so it does not have the ruined Honolulu,Hawaii look.Koh Chang has accommodations to fit everyone's budget. It has full moon parties like Samui, excellent live music bars, incredibly good/cheap seafood/snorkeling,scuba diving on the outer small islands and because there is only one main road that circles the island 90%,the interior is completely wild. Most tourists come and go from Koh Chang thinking there is no wild life but that is because they hang around the coast all day and the animals have split into the mountains. If you go elephant trekking you will see plenty of wild life. Also,if you take my advice DO NOT worry about finding a place to stay prior to going there.White sand beach,Kai Bae and Lonely beach are guaranteed to have plenty of rooms available when you come(Unless it's the Song Khran new year festival time in April). The first place you will see is White sand beach it is the most expensive area to stay in but still has all kinds of normal backpackers partying there. My Thai friend Moe has the largest bar on the island in White sands. It is called 'Sabay bar'(Google it).Every night there is live western style music and sometimes on the beach concerts. The bar itself is also beautiful. In White sands you can find plenty of places that are also not overly expensive to stay in.The next location is Kai Bae where things start to get better priced. There is tons of really good western style food to eat in Kai Bae when you get really sick of rice like me.There are many, many bar/clubs there. My friend Nick from London owns 'Lek bar' in Kai Bae.It has good/cheap rooms and live music everyday plus excellent western food. The next place is Lonely beach. It got that name because years ago it was just a quiet, tranquil little place to relax. Then every rasta, dread lock person in Thailand found out about its very tolerant atmosphere and came there, now it is the Jamaica of Thailand. All the bars pumping out reggae and smoke. On from there there is Bang Bao.It is like a little town built out on the water.Where ever you walk the ocean is under your feet.It is full of sea food restaurants and tons of shops.I have barely covered the fun you can have on Koh Chang, there is just too much to do.You just have to see it for yourself.I have been there 30 something times because my Thai wife's family has a restaurant in Kai Bae so it is like a second home for me now.I often go wild boar hunting with her father in the interior and take people to the coolest places on the island that are far from the tourist ares. There is a place I found some years ago that even some of islanders did not know about I call 'Secret beach' if there is anywhere in Thailand like the little hippy commune (minus the hippies)in the movie 'The Beach' it's my little "Secret Beach."There are only a few fisherman's huts and the greatest beach I have ever seen in this world and I have traveled alot. The best part is there is a small river then comes down out of the mountains that backs up against the beach creating a large pool and then flowing over and on into the sea.The pool and river are perfectly clear with white sand bottoms and best of all, cold because Thailand is hot. When I go with tourists that I often show around the island who want to see the real Koh Chang they freak out when they see the beach.
I hope you take my advice you won't regret it.
      Have fun in Thailand.

  12. QUESTION:
So Twilight was just alright. I have 1 and a half of the series to read, is the movie a spoiler?
I've read TWILIGHT, FULL MOON, AND HALF OF ELCISLE. Should I finish reading or is the movie like Harry Potter and having one movie for each book?

    • ANSWER:
No. Not a spoiler. I've seen it 2 times. Once the release date and the next. I love it, I balled my eyes out. Go see it, it's amazing. The only thing is don't bring anyone who hasn't read it.... They won't understand a thing.
People were laughing at the "Awkward" parts of the movie and if they had read it they would have kept their mouths shut and have understood exactly what was happening. The movie is basically the first book. I heard they are coming out with a movie for each book so that should be exciting 😀 So there's your answer. Nope, It is not a spoiler.

  14. QUESTION:
Design a space city to house engineers in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.?
Okay everyone here's an interesting question .
Please provide me with some ideas and information as I have to make a report of 10 to 12 pages on this topic .
My thanks to everyone who is giving me any information over here.

    • ANSWER:
Well, why not first of all look at what was done in the way before? 😉 These are some popular "hard science fiction" space habitats:

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanford_torus
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernal_sphere
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Island_Three

Less hard science fiction has also some nice designs, like for example the Babylon 5 station.

Basically, you need to remember that a "space city" or "Space Station" is ALWAYS a normal manned spacecraft. All what you need for a manned spacecraft also has to exist in a space station. You need life support, thermal control, attitude control, electrical power, structure and GNC (guidance, navigation and control).

Your space city life support would have to deal with what has to go into the engineers that live there, and what goes out of them. Not really surprising. If you can't produce all, that the engineers need inside the station, you need logistics as well. For example spare parts.

Of course, you also have to remember the place in which you build the station - between Mars and Jupiter, you will get about 1/16th of the sun light, that you get on Earth. That is even less light than you have in a full moon night. For growing plants there, you need to amplify the light - 16 m² collector surface would be needed for just one 1 m² of farm plot (approximately). Or you need to generate electrical power by non-solar means, eg by nuclear power, so you can use artificial light.

For life support, you also need to remember medical issues and ergonomics. Humans need some gravity, otherwise the bones and muscles degrade by adapting to weightlessness. A good artificial gravity can be produced by rotating the station.

Since I doubt anybody will kill you if you don't calculate the abilities of your space city to the 3rd digit after the point, feel free to play a bit with your imagination. Who says that you can't use gigantic mirror satellites for gathering sunlight (the Russians already tested such mirrors in Earth orbit)? or build the space city inside an asteroid?

Just don't make the error and draw the asteroid belt as in movies like Star Wars or Babylon 5: in reality, there is just one tiny asteroid every million kilometers - the belt is still huge enough to have millions of small asteroids there. I hate Star Wars for it.

  15. QUESTION:
Any good sci-fi books for me to read?
I've read The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy Series, Time Warp Trio series, most of the Stargate SG-1 series [I've read Trial By Fire, A Matter Of Honor, Siren Song, Survival Of The Fittest and Allainces], and part of the Stargate Atlantis series [Halcyon and part of Entanglement]. I've also read a few of the Star Wars books [Tatooine Ghost, Courtship Of Princess Leia, Jedi Apprentice]. Any suggestions for what to read next? I like sci-fi action adventure with humor and a little bit of very chaste romance. Please don't suggest books that have inappropriate adult material or that aren't funny. I am also not that fond of Star Trek. Also, have you read Roswell by Sonny Whitelaw? If you have, what happens and should I read it? Thank you so much for answering.
I am not that fond of fantasy

    • ANSWER:
OK, "chaste" scifi is sort of my forte (sex in scifi usually distracts from the story).

First, *anything* by Andre Norton, but especially the following (all at least *very good*, some *excellent*). Books with (romance) have some romance in them - the rest, as best as I can remember, have none.
The Time Traders series (Time Travel) (romance) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bibliography_of_Andre_Norton#Time_Travel
      The Zero Stone books http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bibliography_of_Andre_Norton#Zero_Stone
      The Solar Queen books http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bibliography_of_Andre_Norton#Solar_Queen
      The Janus books (romance) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bibliography_of_Andre_Norton#Janus
The Central Control books http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bibliography_of_Andre_Norton#Seriesstar guard
Star Man's Son (also titled 2250 A.D., my favorite, but no romance to speak of)

Isaac Asimov's original Foundation series http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foundation_series#The_trilogy . The "sequels" are not so "chaste". The original trilogy is one of the great scifi series of all time.

Also, Asimov's "I, Robot". Very little romance, but the only scifi I recommend as "must read".

The first two Elijah Baley books also should qualify http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elijah_Baley . I cannot remember for certain, but the hero *may* cheat on his wife in the 2nd book. I really don't think he does, but it's been years since I've read it. I can say with certainty that, if he does, it is not explicit. Stay away from the 3rd book. Read "I, Robot" before reading these. These are *excellent* scifi murder mysteries.

Of course, the original Star Wars trilogy is well worth reading - exactly filling your criteria, and including many things left out of the movies. (Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi).

Most of the pre-70's scifi is probably going to fit your bill as far as chaste goes, but most are devoid of romance. Dune and Flowers for Algernon are 2 that are not "chaste" - avoid these. H.G. Wells and Jules Verne are full of action (and Verne has great humor), but mostly devoid of romance. Journey to the Center of the Earth is probably my favorite scifi of all time, and funny, but the only romance is at beginning and end where Harry leaves his fiance and then returns to her. Still, free online as all the Verne books. Also read 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Mysterious Island for starters. Verne is almost always excellent - but "From the Earth to the Moon" and "Around the Moon" are on the boring side (only good). Around the World in 80 Days is not scifi (unlike almost all his other books), but it's still great adventure and has more romance than most.

Another great - Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH. I just read this recently - excellent!

Final pick: the original Buck Rogers book - *really* excellent, title "Armageddon 2419 A.D." by Philip Francis Nowlan. I hope you can find it - Amazon only has it used.

I wish I could remember more of what I read when I was younger. Anyway, this is a pretty good start. Most of these probably blow those TV/movie books out of the water as far as story quality goes (I know the spin-off Star Wars books that I've read are terrible).

      Jim, http://www.life-after-harry-potter.com

P.S. The Rama series, recommended by one answer, is definitely *not* chaste!

P.P.S. Also the Harper Hall trilogy, as I recall, is not chaste (although it's a close call). This *is* an excellent series, however, and I think that the main character, at least, remains chaste throughout most of the 3 books (perhaps all). Several of her peers are not so, however.

  17. QUESTION:
is all the apollo mission landed on moon?
tell me about all the apollo missions.did they died, which one landed on moon, all kinds of that stuff, also give me a full video, or movie that's free on line. thankyou
    apollo 1 to 14 and 15?
why is apollo 13 a fauilar? did apollo 13 people died? i thought that they survied. then, tell me about apollo 11, is neil armstrong up there?

    • ANSWER:
Apollo 1 suffered a fire in the spacecraft during a ground test, killing the three astronauts Gus Grissom, Ed White and Roger Chaffee in January 1967.

Officially there were no missions designated Apollo 2 and 3, but the missions that would have had such names were unmanned test flights.

Apollo 4 was an unmanned test of the Saturn V rocket and Apollo spacecraft. Apollo 5 was an unmanned test of the lunar module. Apollo 6 was another unmanned test of the Saturn V and Apollo spacecraft.

In October 1968 Apollo 7 took Wally Schirra, Walt Cunningham and Don Eisele on a ten day Earth-orbit flight to give the spacecraft a full shakedown. In December Apollo 8 took Frank Borman, Jim Lovell and Bill Anders into lunar orbit, but they had no lunar module so could not land.

Apollo 9 was the first flight to take both the Apollo spacecraft and lunar module into space, and it flew in March 1969. Jim McDivitt, Dave Scott and Rusty Schweickart were the crew. During the mission, McDivitt and Schweickart entered the lunar module and separated it from the spacecraft, flying it manned in space for the first time.

Apollo 10 took the spacecraft and lunar module to the Moon. Tom Stafford and Gene Cernan flew the lunar module down to 50,000 feet above the surface of the Moon, but did not try to land (the mission was a test of the systems, not a landing test). John Young was also on the mission.

In July 1969 Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Mike Collins went to the Moon, and Armstrong and Aldrin became the first men to walk on the Moon. They spent about two and a half hours walking around on the surface.

Apollo 12 went up in November 1969, and took Pete Conrad and Alan Bean to the lunar surface while Dick Gordon remained in lunar orbit. Apollo 13 was the next in April 1970, but an oxygen tank exploded on the way to the Moon, and left Jim lovell, Fred Haise and Jack Swigert in a spacecraft with very limited power and resources. They were returned safely to Earth, but it was a very tense flight.

Apollo 14 did not fly until 1971, but Alan Shepard and Ed Mitchell made a successful landing while Stu Roosa remained in orbit. Later that year Dave Scott, Al Worden and Jim Irwin took Apollo 15 to the Moon, with Scott and Irwin landing and spending nearly three days on the lunar surface. They also drove the first lunar roving vehicle, a kind of electronic car.

The last two landings were in 1972. John Young, Charlie Duke and Ken MAttingly flew Apollo 16 to a successful landing, while in December Gene Cernan, Jack Schmitt and Ron Evans flew the last mission to the Moon.Schmitt was the first (and so far only) qualified scientist to walk on the Moon.

All the missions were successful apart from Apollo 13, but no astronauts lost their lives on any of the flights, and all returned safely to Earth a few days after their landings. Each mission spacecraft was a single-use vehicle, and only a tiny part of it returned to Earth. These command modules are on display at verious museums around the world. Here in the UK we have the Apollo 10 command module in London's Science Museum.

For a good source of video, go to the Apollo lunar surface journal online. Loads of video and other stuff there.

A DESCRIPTION (copy pasted+own) FOR THE SOME ANIME LISTED ABOVE APART FROM THE ONES WHICH HAVE LINK:

-Kimi Ni Todoke - Kuronuma Sawako is nicknamed Sadako due to her resemblance to the girl from the Japanese horror movies "The Ring". Shunned by her classmates, her life starts to change as she befriends Shōta Kazehaya, a very popular boy in her class.
Kuronuma Sawako’s one wish in life is to make friends. That’s a difficult proposition when everyone who meets her cowers in terror. She admires her classmate, Kazehaya-kun, a popular, easygoing and 100% refreshing guy who is nice with everyone, even with her.

-Kaichou Wa Maid-Sama - Seika High School, once an all-boys school notorious for its wild students and for generally being a terrifying place for girls, has recently become a co-ed school. With the female population still a minority and living in fear of the over-the-top antics of the males, Misaki Ayuzawa takes it into her own hands to reform the school and allow the girls to feel safe in the rough environment.
Training, studying and even becoming the first female student council president of the school, Misaki has gained a reputation among the male students body as an uptight boy-hating dictator and as a shining hope for the teachers and fellow female students. However, despite her tough-as-nails appearance, she secretly works part-time at a maid cafe in order to support her family. Unfortunately, her hard-earned reputation is threatened when the popular and somewhat impassive Usui Takumi takes an interest in her after discovering her in a maid uniform after school.

-Special A - Similar to ouran high school host club, but there no host club, not harem, not prestigous school, but there is something called the S.A. Love blooms somewhere in the S.A. (I don't know if what i'm saying is correct....)
      Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_A

-Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (the wallflower) - Is harem, 4 guys, 1 girl. Kyouhei, Ranmaru, Takenaga, and Yukinojou are beautiful, handsome, young men living in a huge mansion. One day, their landlord, whom they call "Auntie", asks them a favor: to make her niece, Sunako, who's going to be living with them, into a respectable young lady. She agrees to make their living expenses free of charge if they succeed, but if they fail, she'll triple their rent. Due to their confidence in knowing how to deal with women, they agree, but once they meet Sunako, they begin to realize that their lovely living arrangements may soon be in jeopardy.

-Ouran High School host Club - Haruhi Fujioka is a scholarship student at the prestigious Ouran Academy, a fictional high school located in Bunkyō, Tokyo. Looking for a quiet place to study, Haruhi stumbles upon the Third Music Room, a place where the Ouran Academy Host Club, a group of six male students, gathers to entertain female "clients". During their first meeting, Haruhi accidentally knocks over and breaks an antique vase valued at ¥8,000,000 (US,000 in English manga) and is told to repay the cost in service to the club. WIKIPEDIA

  23. QUESTION:
Where can I find good erotic films, not un-classy porn, but foreign, independent or antique erotica?
In the US, movies seem to be bunched into family, action, or porn. Hard to find good erotic in a genuine film.

I don't want to wander in the adult sections of movie store. I'm looking for quality stuff, like in the documentary on IFC about sexuality...good stuff to watch for mature adults, with spouse...

Possibly a website, even a list of good erotic independent movies?

    Anyone know? Thanks.

      - "Shortbus", the acclaimed film from filmmaker John Cameron Mitchell (creator of "Hedwig and the Angry Inch"), which includes non-simulated sex scenes, but less for shock value or eroticism, and rather as part of the unconventional bonding methodology he used to produce the film (the actors went in with no script and built it up from nothing). It's a smart film that has a lot to say, and will definitely probably intrigue you.

      - Although it isn't actually porn, I can't go without mentioning the Canadian television series "Bliss". It's not porn (everything is simulated, and there's only a little bit of nudity), but it's explicitly erotic, and actually has some really intriguing plot arcs for each episode. It's just beautiful, well-done stuff, and very erotic, very sexy. Buy it!

      - A list of various films you might want to check out (I find them all intellectually as well as erotically stimulating): The Dreamers, Secretary, The Night Porter, Last Tango In Paris, Red Shoe Diaries, The Lover, Wild Orchid, Lolita, 9 1/2 Weeks, Henry & June, Delta Of Venus, Sex, Lies, and Videotape, 9 Songs, Lie With Me, The Center Of The World, Two Moon Junction, Intimacy, and Eyes Wide Shut, to name a few.

Porn (but all independent and very different from any porn you've ever seen):

      - "Five Hot Stories For Her" was produced by an incredible Spanish woman named Erika Lust, who wanted to make high-quality porn for women. What she produced is a film made up of five separate "shorts" that are full, non-cheesy story arcs with gorgeous, realistic actors and actresses, and the sex is hot, real, and even has real female orgasms! Yay! Plus the music, sets, and cinematography are expensive and high-quality. You can watch a trailer here:

      http://www.lustfilms.com/blogEn/lust-films/

      - Petra Joy has also produced three very erotic films that are aimed towards women but are highly artistic and just have a lot more innovation and loving care than others you might see. You can watch previews for "Female Fantasies" and "Feeling It" here:

      http://www.femalefantasies.co.uk/trailer.asp

      http://www.feelingit.co.uk/trailer.asp

      - Blue Artichoke Films are producing some very interesting sexual films that are very artistic and very different from anything out there. Check them out:

      http://www.blueartichokefilms.com/projects/

      - Innocent Pictures have been making intriguing, plot-laden erotic films for a while, and they never fail to inspire and surprise me. You can find out about all their films and watch trailers from here:

      http://www.innocentpictures.com/forside.php

      - Roy Stuart isn't American, but his films are utterly amazing, and he has a ton of them. You have to special order them from him, but it's well worth it:

      http://www.thelostdoor.com/

      http://www.roystuart.net/page1.htm

      - You liked the documentary on IFC about sexuality? Then you're going to LOVE Tony Comstock's work! He produces documentary films with real-life couples being interviewed and filmed having an erotic encounter that becomes very meaningful since you have the background information and relationship established. Comstock Films has four films- one between two married porn stars, two other [non-pornstar] heterosexual couples, one gay male couple, and one lesbian couple. You can watch previews and read about them here:

      http://shop.comstockfilms.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=2&chapter=0

      - Bleu Productions and its owner, Maria Beatty, is amazing. With films that are moody, evocative, gorgeously filmed, and with such artistic and high production values, you won't find anything more erotic. She has a ton of films- some better than others- but I highly recommend "The Black Glove" and "Elegant Spanking". Check them out here:

      I hope these help! Enjoy!

  25. QUESTION:
What are the scariest films ever?
Films don't scare me that much, I've seen a few horror films (The Shining, The Hills Have Eyes, Saw (1-7), The Ring, Orphan etc.) and some of them are really creepy, but none of them really kept me awake at night, so can you suggest some of the scariest films ever? Thank you!

    • ANSWER:
Want to know a good scary movie to watch? Personally, I found Paranormal Activity to be very suspenseful and scary without being gory. But scary really depends on the individual and each of our life experiences (past experiences and what is coming up), so along those lines I would suggest the following:
If you are afraid of flying monkeys – watch The Wizard of OZ.
If you are afraid of heights – watch Vertigo.
If you are afraid of being possessed – watch The Exorcist.
If you are afraid of being impregnated by Satan – watch Rosemary’s Baby.
If you are going to the dentist – watch Marathon Man (is it safe?).
If you are going swimming in the ocean – watch Jaws.
If you are going to take a shower (anywhere) – watch Psycho.
If you are going to take a drive through parts of West Virginia – watch Wrong Turn.
If you are going back-packing in Europe – watch Hostel.
If you are going baby-sitting – watch When A Stranger Calls.
If you are thinking about adopting – watch Orphan.
If you are going on a canoe trip – watch Deliverance.
If you are planning on filming a documentary film in Maryland – watch The Blair Witch Project.
If you are going caving – watch The Descent.
If you are taking a trip to a foreign country – watch Touristas.
If you are going in for some surgery – watch Coma.
If you are going to the circus – watch Killer Clowns from Outer Space.
If you are planning on strolling on the moors during a full moon – watch An American Werewolf in London.
If you are planning on going terra-forming on another isolated planet – watch Aliens.
If you are going on a plane trip – watch Snakes On A Plane (not really, it is just a bad movie).

  29. QUESTION:
Can there be a rotating space station?
I have read books that propose creating extra living space for humans by building huge space stations that rotate for artificial gravity. This would have many benefits. Heavy industry could be done in space with the benefit of hard vacuum and microgravity and kept off Earth. There would be lots of room for social experimentation, as well as a frontier that would provide humanity with a challenge much like the American frontier, except this time, no one would be killed and no ecologies would be ruined. Space travel would be much easier if spaceships could be launched in microgravity. However, I have read at http://www.astronomycafe.net/qadir/q1704.html that "a rotating space station would never work the way that you see in movies like 2001:A SPace [sic] Odyssey. Eventually the gravitational torques would cause terrible precession effects like a bobbing, spinning top." Is this true? If so, can anything be done about this problem?

    • ANSWER:
I have no idea what to make of the answer from infernaltrowa... wow.

I have read about several problems with a large rotating space station:
      1) How do you dock with a rotating space station? Not very easily at all.
      2) The structure of the station would have to be reinforced such that it could hold all the parts together. I am pretty sure today's space stations are not built to be nearly strong enough to provide 1G of acceleration for the astronauts inside.
      3) The further towards the center of the structure, the less "gravity".
      4) I'm not sure how bad the precession would be.

If you have seen the movie Armageddon, you know that the cosmonaut on board made the Mir space station rotate to "simulate gravity", haha. That entire sequence was horribly done. Check out the Armageddon movie reviews at the two sites linked below for a good laugh and learn about how improbable it may be to build a well-designed space station with "artificial gravity". Those authors can probably explain better than I can.

I have read small bits in various magazines/news that a smaller rotating pods may be viable on say the moon if living quarters were ever to be built there. The astronauts could sleep or hang out in those pods to get some time with simulated full strength gravity such that their bodies do not fatigue so much from living in reduced gravity. I wish I could point you to further reading on this concept but I can't seem to find anything on the net.

I hope that helps get you started learning about the subject more.

  32. QUESTION:
How to loose weight at 15?
Ok so I'm 15 and I'm 6'1 and weigh 158 pounds. I play paintball, football, and basketball so I do play sports and get out side and stuff but that's also a bad thing too sometimes because I dnt have very much time with sports and school. I'm not.very fat but I just want to build more musle and get abs.hah any tips or anything? Thanks

    • ANSWER:
ok to answer your first question ...YOU DONT ...losing weight fast involves starvation and isnt a solution in the long run... diests are fine if you want to go down a size for your wedding dress to fit and you dont mind putting on twice as much on the honey moon... diets dont work... what does work is a change of life style. its not an all at once thing its a slow process. but if your fed up to the point where you look in the mirror and scream...ICANT TAKE IT ANY MORE then your ready to accept the humble road to not only getting slimmer but also to feeling better being fitter and healthier and happier... ive read a lot of nutrition books and diet books and the general consensis of even the faddiet books{although we tend to overlook the sensible bits and go straight for the weight parts} is that slow gradual weightloss and change of lifestyle is long term more sucessfull. i find deny myself nice things it doesnt do me any good im already denying myself a lot and thats why i eat comfort food i dont get out much i dont get to see movies or friends i dont even know what kind of music i like anymore never mind get to listen to it and if your a mom you probably know what i mean. so denying myself food is almost garanteed to make me feel like poop.i try to eat all the things ive read im supposed to like at least five fruit and veg portions include three to four kinds of different grain like wheat oats corn barley millet buckwheat etc... and three portions of protien like an egg some meat or cheese or fish and some veg protien like beans or lentils. when you think of it like that its a lot of food!!! never mind adding some nuts and seeds for good measure. but eating all the things you need makes your body a fat burning machine. all your organs start working better you start to pass food faster because of the fibre and that makes your tummy less full all the time which makes you feel lighter. also i dont get to do much excersisei do a good bit of walking but i dont have time for gym or classes although they are great and get you out of the house which feels good too. but i do some yoga at home to strengthen my muscles because muscle burns fat!!! so the more muscles you build strong the better... and htere are millions of muscles that we just dont use every day. belly dangcing is really hard work..doesnt look it i know but its a sweaty and hard workout for me.. and it makes your tummy go in ...which is always good cos even if your big if your tummy goes in your shape becomes voluptuous instead of roundy. which is always a plus. and generally telling yourself your treating yourself to really good food makes you feel good which is the reason we want to be thin anyway. right? so dont worry too much about the weight just say im going to spoil myself rotten with nutritious food and good excersise... {excersise is supposed to be really good for depression and that s another plus, but u have to do a little every day even if its just a five minute stretch and your not really breaking a sweat i think just doing five minutes makes you feel like youve at least tried rather than setting a goal to run a mile a day and then not being able to acheive that so going to the fridge in despair..} and nice things like baths and stuff just to feel heh i may be big but im beautiful and i wont always be this big cos ive got a really good diet and im gonna be the healthiest woman around!! if you dont have happiness and health then its useless being thin anyway. ask an anorexic.. its not the b all and end all. so my advice is try to cram in all the good stuff and theres so little room left to eat anything naughty... clear your cupboards start fresh and get a recipe book... you deserve good food and you deserve to be happy while getting slim! best of luck to you!!

  33. QUESTION:
what is a approatie anime for 13 year olds, yet not crappy?
tittle says it all. but has to be approved by christion parents

wouls also appreataite a youtube channel that has all the season 1-2 episodes atleast.

    • ANSWER:
I just want to say, i'm shocked at how many complete jerks answered your question, and i'm sorry you're getting such horrible replies.

I would say that almost all the movies directed by Hayao Miyazaki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hayao_Miyazaki#Director.2C_screenplay.2C_and_storyboards) are appropriate, and i'm 16 and have to admit, i still love them. Two of his best ones, in my opinion, are Howl's Moving Castle(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Howl%27s_Moving_Castle_(film)) and Spirited Away(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spirited_Away)

But there are alot more by this director that might actually be better for little kids... for instance My neighbor Totoro (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Neighbor_Totoro), Kiki's Delivery Service, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiki%27s_delivery_service), Ponyo on the Cliff by the sea (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ponyo_on_the_Cliff_by_the_Sea)

You could try Fruits Basket. They do say Damn, but other than that it's very innocent. There is one episode that has some adult comments, but they're not risky and would prob. go over his/her head.

Another cute one that i just found recently is Shugo Chara. I'm not sure if it is in english or not, i just watched it with subtitles, but you could look into it...

Lucky star is another good one... and Azumanga Daioh, too though lucky star is directed more towards younger kids...

Then there's always the classics like sailor moon and YuGiOh...

Those may be the most innocent ones you can get... a big part of anime is the slight pervert-like humor, so it's not easy to find a show that doesn't have that aspect...

some other ones i liked when i was younger were Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, Dragon ball, Dragon ball Z...i would recommend Dragon ball for little kids, Dragon Ball Z and GT are a little more adult and much more violent... and can't think of too many more... i can't really remember if they were innocent or not... it was soo long ago.

      Spirited Away: http://www.animecrazy.net/spirited-away-hayao-miyazaki/

      Howl's Moving Castle: http://hubpages.com/hub/Anime-TV-Online---Watch-Howls-Moving-Castle-Online-Here

Dragon ball, Dragon ball Z, and Dragon ball GT: http://www.idragonball.com/

I would search google (instead of just searching youtube) for other sites that have english dubbed anime shows... there are alot of them... Also, Veoh.com is a good site. it's like Youtube, but if you download Veoh TV, you can watch full episodes online instead of watching parts...

i hope I helped... there's alot of animes out there, and i'm sure that you could search google (or any other search engine you like) for a list of animes for 13 year olds... see what you find ^^

      Good luck with your search!!!

  34. QUESTION:
A pirate-related, possibly disney, movie from several years ago?
There was a movie about 10 years ago or so (that could have been shown on the disney channel) that involved pirates (I believe, but it could possibly be some other group of people) and at one point, there is a shark that was seen in the sand. Like, you could only see the fin sticking out and it was kind of swimming through it, but it was in the sand. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? Thanks!!!

    • ANSWER:
      Magic Island (1995)
      IMDb synopsis:
Jack Carlisle (Zachery Ty Bryan) is a disillusioned 13-year-old. His mother is always away at work since his father left, so he decides to run away, believing that she won't miss him. As he is ready to leave, his nanny convinces him to read a book: "Magic Island", a pirate story. As he reads, he is drawn into that world, where he has numerous adventures with Prince Morgan (Edward Kerr), while fleeing the evil Blackbeard the Pirate (Andrew Divoff of "Wishmaster"). He is saved by the beautiful mermaid Lily (Jessie-Ann Friend), with whom he falls in love. Also in the cast are Ja'net Dubois, Abraham Benrubi, French Stewart and Isaac Hayes (voice).
      IMDb review:
A couple of days ago, I began to let my mind wander in class, and I kept getting hit with these images of exotic beaches, a runaway boy throwing pizza at a sand shark, a pirate and a mermaid, and for the life of me I could not remember where these pictures were coming from since I hadn't read a book or seen a movie with a runaway kid and pirates for over 10 years. Once I started thinking about it though, I couldn't get the movie out of my head, so I searched IMDb and found "Magic Island".
Oh my! Someone uploaded this to YouTube! Here's Part 1:

By the way, it's from that very offbeat studio, Full Moon Entertainment.

  36. QUESTION:
What do you really think of the sixties counterculture?

    • ANSWER:
The sixties was the most wonderful time to have lived through. It was the best time to have been between 16 & 35. I feel sorry for young people today. By sixties standards today is a depressing wasteland full of hostility; violence, isolation; inhibition & negativity. People who lived in the 60s, lived through a lot of historic events. Living was easier in the 60s. Things were more affordable and even if you did not have much money, you could manage and be more mobile and more free than today. Even medical care was more available and more human. Many things were new, like jet travel; tv; & lots more. By being new, they were novel. They offered more. The "counterculture" was mutifaceted because the sixties was about various movements of different groups, yet in many ways there was also some unity between them. It was a time of change for youth; blacks; women & other minorities. It was a time of upheaval because everything was being brought into question. Then there was the war. That was an awful part. We only hear about how it polarized the country and it did, but it also unified the counterculture. The sixties was a time of BURSTING forth of creativity and personal freedom. EVERYDAY, yes, EVERY Single Day, there was something new and different. The radio had new music almost daily. Poetry and philosophy were read on the radio. A list of the muscians of the 60s would require pages and pages. It created new designers, films, artists, actors and actresses, tv shows. There were urban and rural communes; be-ins; teach-ins; love-ins and protests. The baby boom generation was treated special. The WWII generation, our parents, taught us well and cared for us. Yet, we couldn't take their narrow ways of thinking; conformity and control. We resented the state of the world and felt we could do better. The environmental movement came out of the sixties. Wind power; solar power; electric cars etc etc are all from the sixties. It was a time of rebellion; finding ourselves; and exploration. People who were part of the "counterculture" were generally, all together, unified, friendly toward each other. What a wonderful feeling to go out and have peace signs flashed at you and people who were strangers being friendly. The counterculture became international and world wide. The drugs were both good and bad. For those who could handle them, the hallucinogenic drugs opened up completely new ways of seeing and generated art; music and spirituality that were unique. But drugs were part of the undoing of the counterculture. The sixties also was a time of spiritual searching. So what do you think, did I like it? I will really be glad to tell you more or answer any further questions that you may have. your question also makes me curious about your age. Just remember: The sixties were about just two things man; Grass, LSD & Music.

I recommend two movies to you that capture something of the spirit of the 60s:
      1. Walking on the Moon
      2. Pleasantville

  37. QUESTION:
What were 4 major things historically innacurate or incorrect about the movie Apollo 13?
I know the manual engine burn on the way back to earth never happened, I need 3 more major scenes, preferably ones that support the theme of teamwork

    • ANSWER:
I know this is a bit much, but I hope it helps.

Factual errors: After the party, Lovell holds his thumb in front the gibbous moon. Then, telling Marilyn where to find "her" mountain, he says the Sea of Tranquility is "where the shadow crosses the white part." The terminator was in fact near the Sea of Tranquility on July 20, 1969, but the moon was less than half full; it's depicted in the scene as gibbous, with the terminator on the other side.

Factual errors: When Jim Lovell is standing in his garden looking at the moon (one eye closed) he covers and uncovers the moon (from his perspective) with his thumb. Since the moon was the only light source in this situation, the shadow of his thumb would have to be shading his eye. But the third person perspective shows the thumb's shadow elsewhere.

Factual errors: The seas are the dark parts.

Factual errors: In Houston the moon set that night at about midnight CDT, while the Apollo 11 astronauts were returning to their Lunar Module; hence it would not be visible after the party at the Lovells'.

Anachronisms: NASA's "worm" logo was not developed until 1975.

Anachronisms: A technician is wearing a Rockwell International logo on his coveralls. North American Rockwell became Rockwell International only in 1973 when they acquired Collins Radio.

Factual errors: The launch tower was on the north side of the Saturn V. If Mattingly was watching from east of the pad near the beach, then he would see it on the right.

Anachronisms: In April 1970, Lovell's daughter can be seen holding the Beatles' "Let it Be" album, which wasn't released until May 1970.
      chest.

Factual errors: The actual explosion took place at MET (Mission Elapsed Time) 055:54:53, a full hour before the time shown.

Factual errors: The astronauts are shown looking at Mare Tranquilitatis, then crossing from sunlight into shadow, followed by loss of signal, all within seconds. In fact at loss of signal they had been in the moon's shadow for some time and were nowhere near Mare Tranquilitatis.

Factual errors: While passing over Tsiolkovsky crater on the moon's far side, the astronauts also speak of sighting Fra Mauro and Mare Imbrium, both nearly halfway around the moon.

Factual errors: Just after acquisition of signal, Houston tells the astronauts that their speed is "approximately 7,062 feet per second" and their altitude above the moon is 56 nautical miles. That speed is 500 ft/s below lunar escape velocity at that altitude, hence impossible on a free return trajectory. In fact, any free return trajectory symmetrical about the moon-earth line would put them at over 100 nautical miles altitude at acquisition of signal.

Factual errors: A TV scene at Mission Control shows Houston Astros player Jimmy Wynn hitting a home run on 13 April 1970. The Astros were shut out by the Los Angeles Dodgers 2-0 that day. The home run shown was hit 10 June 1967, in a game between Cincinnati and Houston, it was the longest in Crosley field history

Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): As Neil Armstrong walks on the moon, Walter Cronkite says the Apollo 11 landing is 18 months after the tragic Apollo 1 launchpad fire. It was actually 30 months after.

Anachronisms: "Mr. Coffee"-type drip pots weren't in use at the time.
Anachronisms: The television that Blanch Lovell watches the final splashdown on is a Sharp model that was not made until the late 1980s.

Anachronisms: In the opening sequence with Apollo 1, the crew uses a black keyboard (Block II). The keyboard on Apollo 1 was white (Block I).

Factual errors: In the opening scene, where the Apollo 1 crew is walking across the swing arm, the Service Module is incorrectly shown as a Block II Service Module (grey w/ white areas); Apollo 1, Serial Number 012, was a Block I Spacecraft - its Service Module was all-white, like the toy spacecraft Lovell shows his son later in the movie.

Factual errors: The Apollo 1 fire DID NOT initiate with a switch throw, as this movie depicts. During the Accident Investigation, this was a possibility which was dismissed after a thorough investigation.

Factual errors: The mating of launch vehicle stage components was a much more delicate and deliberate process that this movie depicts. Tours, even for high-level VIPs, would most likely be suspended while such operations were in progress. For the scene where the Third Stage is being lowered onto the Second Stage, a retractable work platform, curved to fit around the Second Stage, would have been in place just below the Upper Field Joint (top of Second Stage). Numerous hard-hatted workers, most on their knees, would have been on the edge of this platform, making sure that the two stages were in correct alignment for mating.

Factual errors: Lovell's Crew was switched from Apollo 14 to Apollo 13 to give Alan Shepard and his crew more training time - not because of any medical issue.

Factual errors: This Movie incorrectly depicts the Apollo 13 Spacecraft and Launch Vehicle as being delivered to the Launch Pad on April 9, 1970 - two (2) days before launch. Much more "pad time" was required, and Apollo 13 was actually delivered to Launch Pad 39A on December 15, 1969.

Factual errors: Notwithstanding that this movie used dramatic license to make a better story, a few points should be clarified, particularly concerning the portrayals of Astronaut Fred Haise and the Grumman Corporation: Fred Haise was considered one of the best and brightest of his group (1966); the scenes where he gives Swigert a dirty look in the Simulator, blames Swigert for the Accident, and nearly screws up the course correction maneuver are not supported by any historical account available to this contributor. Grumman Corporation Personnel worked as hard as anyone else on the team to bring the Apollo 13 Crew home safely; the display of "no can do" attitude shown in the movie is not supported by any historical account available to this contributor. This movie also neglects the contributions of Astronaut Charlie Duke; by the time of the Accident, he was no longer contagious but still feeling unwell. He got out of his sick bed to help devise new Lunar Module Procedures, just as Ken Mattingly is shown doing for the Command Module - in fact, Duke helped devise the course correction maneuver in the Lunar Module Simulator.

Factual errors: Apollo 13 incorrectly shown going around the Moon with Lunar Module (LM) (Aquarius) Landing Legs still folded. These had to be extended before the Descent Propulsion System (DPS) could be fired, which had been done (for the first of three times) many hours before. Once extended, the legs could not be retracted.

Factual errors: In some cold scenes in the LEM, breath is visible. The warm breath rises, which wouldn't happen in a weightless environment.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs: "Houston, we have a problem," is probably the world's most known misquote. After the bang, the conversation was as follows. Swigert: "Okay, Houston, we've had a problem here." Jack Lousma: "This is Houston. Say again please." Lovell: "Houston, we've had a problem. We've had a main B bus undervolt." However, this was a deliberate change suggested by Tom Hanks to better convey the sense of urgency in the scene.

Factual errors: During the trip to the moon, a full moon and a full earth can be seen from the windows of the shuttle. If the spaceship was between the earth and the moon, it would not have been possible to see the "full phases" of the earth and the moon at the same time. One of the two would have to have the shadow dark side facing the spacecraft.

Anachronisms: The controller giving the typhoon prediction for the landing area can be seen holding a full color satellite picture of the region. There were no color satellite pictures at the time - especially not in (near) real time.

Miscellaneous: At approx. 17:47, there is a photo session. The Hasselblad 500 camera used is out of film. It is shown by the red arc on the film magazine. A camera with all film unexposed should view a "metallic" arc, rather than a red one.

Anachronisms: The USS New Orleans (a stand-in for the USS Iwo Jima) is shown with CIWS (Close In Weapons System) that was not in commission until 1977 when tested on the USS Bigelow.

Factual errors: The Mission Clock is not supposed to start until the Saturn V rocket lifts off the launch pad.

Anachronisms: Several scenes show a Lockheed-Martin coffee mug on flight director Krantz's desk. Lockheed Martin was not formed until 1995 with the merger of Lockheed Corp. and Martin Marietta.

Factual errors: During the TV transmission prior to the accident, the crew did in fact play the "Zarathrustra" theme from "2001: A Space Odyssey" as intended. The tape was not switched by Fred Haise as depicted in the film.

Errors in geography: Whilst on the way back to Earth, a view out of a window shows the Moon with around 50% of the far side showing. Only a small percentage of the far side should be visible at that point. When flying over the Moon, Haise looks down at the surface and says "Sea of Tranquillity", when the view out of the window does not show the smooth plains of that area. The scene shown is a mountainous area with a curving rille running though it; it is actually the Apollo 15 landing site at Hadley Rille.

Factual errors: When Apollo 13 is swinging around the moon Fred Haise is looking at the lunar landscape and says "Sea of Tranquility - Neil and Buzz's old stomping grounds". The scene then shifts to show the view out the window and the lunar landscape that is shown is actually the Hadley Rille region, where Apollo 15 would land 2 years later. Besides, on a free return trajectory around the moon the Sea of Tranquility would not be visible while they were swinging around the far side of the moon (it is only visible on the near side of the moon).

Factual errors: Before re-entry, the crew were informed that their course was shallowing. This was stated to be due to them being underweight because they did not have the lunar samples that would have been gathered if they had landed on the Moon. However at this point they still had with them the entire Lunar Module, which would normally have been left behind before the return from lunar orbit, so the total mass returning to Earth at that time was considerably more, not less, than planned.

Factual errors: In the launch sequence, the five F-1 engines do NOT start simultaneously, as depicted. In fact the center, or inboard, engine starts first, followed by 2 more engines and then the last 2 engines just a second or so apart.

Factual errors: All the swingarms connecting the launch vehicle to the tower do not come back one at a time as depicted. There are 9 swingarms, and 4 are removed during the countdown. The last 5 all come back together simultaneously at exactly T=0; the moment of lift-off.

  38. QUESTION:
What to do when the perfect person leaves you?
Im 14, sure thats a little young to look for love, but i did, i fell in love with this amazing girl, she was my everything, my life, my reality, she was like the sun and moon to me, i knew when i met her i had to have her, i asked her to a date, we had a great time, i found out so much from her, turned out she was exactly like me, her dad left her at a young age and has been hurt many times in her past relationships, i told her i wasn't like the other guys, i told her i wasnt gonna hurt her, she said that she wasnt gonna hurt me either. now this is gonna sound stupid but it was a very short relationship, it was only 1 month, but in that one month, i never felt so loved, so wanted, so needed, to be someones one and only, it was great. we did everything together, her and i, we went to movies, a lot of them, spent weekends with each other, i met her parents, she met mine. every nite, we were on the phone to each other, for hours on end and if one of us were working, we would text just to know that we were still there and nothing bad had happened. one friday after a long day at school, i was tired to so much, she called, we talked for a bit and i would just listen to her talk, it soothed me, then she said " u sound so angry whats wrong?" i just said that i was tired, so she started getting serious, i asked why she was being the way she was and she said that she might want to get off the fone for a bit to calm down, i said ok, thats fine. we got off the fone. a couple of minutes later i called her, no answer, tried 8 times then i finally gave up coz i was gonna use up all my credit. i decide im just going to go to sleep. the next morning i find a text from her, i expected it to be a 'sorry i couldnt pick up the fone' text, but instead it dreaded the worst thing ever, all it said was 'if u dont luv me any more, we're over.' all day i did nothing, i know im 14 year old boy but i cried, i never thought someone could have such an effect on me!! that night i decided i couldnt do this anymore, i needed her back, so i asked her again because i felt so hollow. she said yes. the next morning i found out the worst news, the reason why she dumped me was because she liked my best mate, she wanted to do another guy and that i just wasnt enough for her. heart-broken, i called it off, ever since then, i have cut myself, been to hospital a few times, broke 3 knuckles, popped 2 and cried millions of tears for her. i dont know what to do, i feel hollow, empty, stupid, i feel like my heart has been torn from my chest, she left me with nothing, now i dont know what to do any more, i feel like my life is over, i need someones help!!

    • ANSWER:
Oh dang kid. Take it easy first of all. I'm fourteen also and yet I'm a girl. I just went through this but maybe not as severe.
Look, it's hard. Trust me. I still have trouble getting over this kid I once liked. He like really hates me for no reason. But to be honest, liking someone who wants more isn't the best person. I know she may have been perfect. That kid I dated, we were "perfect". Until some girl intervened. Getting over someone that was perfect is hard. And heres the catch: Fighting is part of ALL relationships. But it doesn't neccessarily mean it's over. It's NATURAL.
Now about the hurting self, please, please, PLEASE don't do that. I had a friend die because he went through the same thing. He cut himself and finally one day, he died. He was like my brother and it sucked when this happen. You have a long ways to go in life. A full life pretty much and other girls will come and go. But you will find that right one. Maybe not now, but eventually.
All I'm saying is, the best way to get over her is ask yourself: If she REALLY loved me, would she have broken up because she liked some other guy?
Also, be friendly to her even if it sucks knowing you're heartbroken. The guy I dated, he treats me like crap now but I always have to remind myself, "If he did really love me, would he have said what he said? And flirted with another girl in my face and then turn around and deny it? NO.
It hurts. Suffering comes only from the attachment of something. But I will be honest, it may take time to get over her but remember, she isn't the only girl. There are others.
I hope this did help. I'm really sorry this had to happen. And please don't hurt yourself anymore! You'll regret it later on.
      Good luck.

  39. QUESTION:
what is the list of all the twilight movies in order?
Kind of a dumb question but I honestly dont know :)

    • ANSWER:
1)Twilight (where it all starts & Bella discovers the world of vampires)
      2) New Moon (hearts are broken, relationships strained & choices made)
      3) Eclipse (boundaries are pushed, loyalties discovered & life altering choices made)
      4) Breaking Dawn Part 1 ( a new life is started, a suprise awaits)
      5) Breaking Dawn Part 2 **the book itself was really long** ( relationships revealed & tested, sides are chosen, truths revealed).

The books are what will give you the FULL story, if you only watch the movies you will get confused because the shows jump around & leave things out. When you are trying to squash yeah so many hundreds of pages into shows that are limited to 2 hrs tops stuff is gonna get left by the side of the road (long movies are not real popular ie Gone With The Wind, etc).

  42. QUESTION:
What are the best/funniest Detective Conan episodes (not movies or OVAs)?

    • ANSWER:
Personally, any episode with Heiji in it happens to be the best and funniest, but that's just for me. I also really love the Black Organization episodes.

For my favorite "best" episodes, they are (in no particular order):
      1. Episode 43: Conan Edogawa Kidnapping Case
      2. Episodes 277-278: English Teacher vs. Great Western Detective
      3. Episodes 176-178: Reunion with the Black Organization
      4. Episodes 286-288: Shinichi Kudo's New York Case
      5. Episode 345: Head-to-Head Match with the Black Organization: A Dual Mystery on a Full Moon Night
      6. Episode 425: Black Impact! The Moment the Black Organization Reaches Out!
      7. Episodes 491-504

Yep, mostly Black Organization ones are the best ones for me because they focus on the main plot, but there are plenty of others that are really good also like THE VERY FIRST EPISODE! But I also really like Episode 6: Valentine Murder Case and Episodes 141-142: The Night Before the Wedding Locked Room Case

These episodes are just ones I really love, but may not have as many funny parts as you're looking for:
      1. Episode 651: Conan vs. Heiji, Deduction Battle Between the Detectives of the East and West (has very funny parts)
      2. Episode 219: The Gathering of the Detectives! Shinichi Kudo vs. Kaitou Kid
      3. Episode 263: The Osaka Double Mystery - The Naniwa Swordsman and Toyotomi's Castle
      4. Episode 76: Conan vs. Kaito Kid (in case you're a Kaito Kid fan)
      5. Episodes 323-324: Heiji Hattori's Desperate Situation!
      6. Episodes 153-154: Sonoko's Dangerous Summer Story
      7. Episodes 381-382: Which One's Deduction Show
      8. Episode 479: Three Days With Heiji Hattori (I find the second half of the episode to be funnier just because all the other detectives are giving Heiji a bad time)
      9. Episodes 573-574: The Whereabouts of the Embarrassing Charm
      10. Episode 449: Metropolitan Police Detective Love Story - Fake Wedding

Like I said, I'm a Heiji fan, so most of the episodes I have listed have him involved.

      I hope I've helped out!

  43. QUESTION:
Relocating from the UK to Sunnyvale, California?
There is a slim possibility I may have the chance to move from London, England to Sunnyvale, California - what should I look out for - where are good information sites for property rentals etc, where should I move to?

    • ANSWER:
I happen to live in Sunnyvale and it is a nice town to live in. It's not usually too hot in the summer. We do get some fog.

As far as where to live, stick close to Mathilda Avemue, Mary Avenue, Bernardo Ave. These are all close to shopping, freeways and mass transit (bus). Rentals will not be cheap, but you're probably used to that in London also.

You will probably have culture shock moving here from London. There is no tube in Sunnyvale. You have to go to San Francisco for that. There is also no state subsidised health care program, so you'll need to arrange for a health plan with your employer once you begin working. Most employers have some kind of plan for full-time employees. Part time employees generally do not get their employer's health plan and are "on their own" if they get sick or injured.

Sunnyvale's downtown is currently being renovated to draw more people back to shopping and eating there. There are a variety of good restaurants in Sunnyvale and the closely surrounding towns. You can get almost anything you can think of to eat within a 30 minute radius. One of my favorites is an Afghan restaurnt call Kabul. Very good lamb!

There are several city and state colleges around the bay area which wouldbe within reach of sunnyvale if you are planning to do that while you are here.

Lots of museums, concert halls, plays, movie theaters, coffee houses and nightclubs within the local area also. Also plenty of sports venues - football, soccer, baseball, basketball...we have a number of local teams that are known nationwide (San Franciso 49ers, Oakland A's, San Jose Sharks (hockey), etc.

Sunnyvale is also within 1 hour of several beaches incuding Santa Cruz, San Francisco, Half Moon Bay.

Plenty of shopping facilities in Sunnyvale and surrounding areas. You should check out Santa Row in San Jose if you like a more upscale shopping/dining experience.

Thee are several good rental companies - they would be listed in the San Jose Mercury News under rentals. I'm sorry to day I don;t know any myself as I own my home.

      Good Luck!

Here are the songs from Twilight in the order they appeared in the movie:

  49. QUESTION:
When I do pushups my heart hurts?
I'm between 5'9", 5'10" and only weigh around 132lbs. When I do push-ups, it feels like my heart is cramping up and feels kinda sore - is that normal?

I do between 80-100 push-ups, and I can't make my arms hurt without getting.. like a heart cramp?
oh, and i'm 19, I turn 20 in two months.

    • ANSWER:
Sounds like it's time to do two things:
      1. get a checkup. You should be seeing a doctor before you start any heavy exercise program. If your heart is really hurting, you should get it checked out.
      2. talk with a trainer. You might be holding your back or chest in such a way that it's not your heart, but some chest muscles or your diaphragm that are hurting. I am assuming that you are drinking lots of water while exercising. You should be. If you don't have access to a trainer, try to find someone who works out with a trainer. Sports team trainers and military PT guys may also be able to help.
Sounds like you would like to build your arms, so it's probably time to add more variety to your exercise routine. Did you see the recent issue of Men's Health that had a routine for bulking up like Taylor Lautner did for Twilight New Moon? Might get some ideas from that one. Also, if you don't have access to weights, you can make your own dumbbells by lifting milk jugs full of sand or screws, lifting heavy car parts, etc.
It's great that you are working out. So many people today are out of shape. Be sure and eat right, too. You'll feel good when you put good food in you. If you haven't yet seen the Supersize Me movie, do it. You'll never eat another fry. They don't build muscle anyway.
