Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
Why do the werewolves have tattoos in new moon movie?
I've been looking at pictures for the new moon movie and I noticed something. All of the werewolves have a tattoo on their arms. I didn't remember the book mentioning that so i was wondering if anyone knew why they are there.

    • ANSWER:
Its true that it wasn't mentioned in the novel, but I think it was a bright idea for the film. It signifies the werewolf "pack" and their unity.

If you would like to see proper pictures and wallpapers of this (including Jacob Black with his pack), visit http://ruanacity.com/downloads/wallpapers/54-newmoonmoviewallpapers.html

  2. QUESTION:

I'm creating a New Moon movie poster and am trying to find pictures of wolves that would match each one in the book. However they're not mentioned together in one place in the book and it's kind of a pain to search for each one so if you know them let me know. Thanks.

  4. QUESTION:
In the Twilight saga: New moon movie why does Bella fold over the picture of her and edward?
I just wannt to know the part where she prints the picture, and she folds it over where its just Edward, whats the meaning behind it?

    • ANSWER:
Here your answer from the book :

The last was the picture of Edward and me standing awkwardly side by side. Edward's face was the
same as the last, cold and statue-like. But that wasn't the most troubling part of this photograph. The
contrast between the two of us was painful. He looked like a god. I looked very average, even for a
human, almost shamefully plain. I flipped the picture over with a feeling of disgust.
Instead of doing my homework, I stayed up to put my pictures into the album. With a ballpoint pen I
scrawled captions under all the pictures, the names and the dates. I got to the picture of Edward and me,
and, without looking at it too long, I folded it in half and stuck it under the metal tab, Edward-side up

  6. QUESTION:
Where can I get the full two hundred episodes of Sailor Moon and the three movies, in Australia?
I have been looking over the past week for the full two hundred episodes of Sailor Moon and the movies but my Mum won't agree to buying them unless it's an Australian website. Can anyone help me?

    • ANSWER:
I doubt you'll find one thats Australian... and no matter what you're looking at a purchase thats a few hundred dollars (at least)...

I use this site (i think its Malaysian) for my anime-dvd purchases. It shipped fine to me (and I'm in Canada so no worries on international stuff). They also have nice selection of all sorts of series so they'll probably have what you are looking for. It may not be Australian but its legit (shipping isn't that bad either). if you want i can even send you a picture of the series i had mailed to me =P
      anywho heres the site:

      http://www.otakucastle.com/index.php?cPath=40_23
Simply set the currency to "Australian Dollar" to see prices.

Another one a friend of mine uses is yesasia which has free international shipping and decent prices on all sorts stuff

      http://www.yesasia.com/us/search/sailor-moon/0-0-0-bpt.48_q.sailor+moon-en/list.html

also if your mom still can't trust that then there's always amazon (which does ship to Australia). Everyone uses amazon so no worries on the reliability of the site:

  7. QUESTION:
Which scene are you looking forward to in the New Moon movie?
What scene from the book in particular are you looking forward to see in Twilight's sequel, New Moon?

POLL: Which character from the Twilight saga do you look most like? And which Twilight character is your personality most similar to?
I would like to see the scene when I apologize to Bella and Edward at the end. I hope the director makes Nikki Reed look at least a fraction as beautiful as I do in person...

Also, do you think I should get Emmett to re-take my picture for my avatar? I am doubting whether or not my current picture shows my full beauty- not that it can show much in a humble little picture...

It's a shame I do not appear in New Moon as often as I should...
Producers would be foolish not to include me often in the movie- I would increase ticket sales immensely!

    • ANSWER:
Probaly the vote scene were all of us cullens vote on bella's imortally.

I look and is most similar to Emmett........because I am emmett Cullen

I think ur picture is fine rosalie baby every picture u r in u look hot! But u can change it if u want.

Yes it is a shame that both of us are not in the movie often

      Emmett Cullen

  8. QUESTION:
What is the name of this sailor moon movie?
I can't really remember what it was about but I remember near the end Sailor moon was in a white dress. There was a song playing and it was saying " the power of love" I also remember that tuxedo mask was there. I think the movie cover shows her in a white dress. Sorry I haven't seen watched sailor moon in a long time!

    • ANSWER:
Sailor Moon R-"The Promise of the Rose"

You're thinking of the English version, which had the song, "The Power of Love," before the year 2000. After that, the English version had the Japanese song, "Moon Revenge." Any version you find online or on dvd will have the Japanese song, but if you buy the vhs http://www.amazon.com/Sailor-Moon-Movie-Promise-Rose/dp/B00003E47U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1280027926&sr=8-1 (which does have a picture of sailor moon in a white dress) it has the English song you remember. You probably watched the English version when you were younger, but I'd really recommend the Japanese version now. In my opinion, it's a lot better.

Here's part 1 of the movie, and you can click on the side links for the rest of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13kyDjWvA5w&feature=related

  9. QUESTION:

The first person to copy the article here will get the ten points for best answer. Thanks so much!!

    • ANSWER:

      ok try this link

      http://news.yahoo.com/s/eonline/20090122/en_top_eo/80171

if still no luck,I'll post the article here.

Los Angeles (E! Online) – Dakota Fanning...with fangs?

It's possible. I can exclusively report that the 14-year-old child star—she turns 15 on Feb. 23—is in talks to play Jane opposite Robert Pattinson & Co. in New Moon, the upcoming sequel to box office megahit Twilight.

"There were no auditions," a source reveals. "They just offered it to her outright, and now they're in negotiations. They've been going back and forth."

Jane is a member of Italy's Volturi, the most deadly group of bloodsucking killers in author Stephenie Meyer's' best-selling series.

In the casting notice we got our hands on earlier this month, Jane is described as a petite blonde with a "Botticelli angel-like face…[and] crimson irises." While fellow Volturi guards Demetri & Felix "are three times the size of her, they are terrified of her," the casting notice reads.

Coincidentally (or maybe not), an online petition started by a Twilight fan already asks the studio, Summit Entertainment, to cast Fanning because she would be "perfect" for the role.

Early last month, Entertainment Weekly suggested Pushing Daisies star and Broadway diva Kristin Chenoweth. "Her voice is certainly high enough, and at 4'11'', she's also short enough," writer Amy Wilkinson proposed.

Director Chris Weitz is expected to start shooting New Moon in March in the U.S. and Italy. If all goes as planned, the movie will hit theaters on Nov. 20.

Is Fanning right for Jane? We're sure Twilight fans have plenty to say about it.

  10. QUESTION:
what did you think about the TWILIGHT movie?
I, for one, really loved the movie. It was amazing and I can't wait to see it a second time! The camera angles and the way they shot things was a little weird, but other than that it was pretty sweet. What did you think? Also, what are your opinions about the whole cast and especially the whole Kristen Stewart drug/smoking whatever you wanna call them pictures?

AND let me also add that Jacob better not be replaced!!! If Taylor isn't in the New Moon movie, idk how I'll be able to even go see it 😉

    thanks!

    • ANSWER:
      I expected better...
the way they shot it was a little weird
and at least for the first part of the movie the characters exaggerated their parts, like when Bella goes to Biology for the first time, the guy that played Edward completely exaggerated his reaction to the point that he didn't look intimidating just weird
all together, THE MOVIE DID NOT DO THE BOOK JUSTICE

  11. QUESTION:
The moon is always small where I live. Where and when do I go to see it look bigger?
You know, just like it is in the movies or in pictures.

    • ANSWER:
You need to go to Photoshop. Its at Silicon Valley.

But seriously, the moon always appears exactly the same size except that there seems to be an optical illusuion when we see it near the horizon for some reason it looks bigger. But if you hold a dime out at arms length when you see the moon at the horizon and way up high, you'll see that its exactly the same size.

What you see in TV & the Movies, is done in one of 2 ways. Either they shoot with a telescope or they digitally composite a picture of the actor in front of a picture taken with a telescope.

  12. QUESTION:
Where was the first walk on the moon being filmed from on the Apollo 11 mission?
It seems as if the cameraman is already on the moon filming from far off the the first walk off of the ship and onto the moon.
Thanks Tim and Questor for answering my question with a forgiving thoroughness...
To the campbelp, yes sorry please forgive me i've only seen a couple minute clip, and i'm sorry my ignorant yet sincere question offended you so much... It's people like you who make this site worse, not better. This is about people who are seeking knowledge, asking questions to expand their mind and getting quality answers. My question is nothing more than a question, i don't imply anything in my question except my lack of knowledge on the matter. I say "it seems", obviously not stating anything i say as a fact.

    • ANSWER:
When Neil Armstrong backed out of the hatch of the Lunar Module "Eagle", he paused at the top of the ladder and pulled a line. This released a section of part of the LM to his left which swung down from the vertical position through about 120 degrees. This had a black-and-white TV camera fixed to it which was set to point towards the ladder, and it was this TV camera that gave us the live pictures of Armstrong coming down the ladder and stepping onto the surface of the Moon.
After Edwin Aldrin had joined him on the surface, they set up another TV camera on a support, which they placed some distance away, pointing back towards the LM.
Additionally, a 16mm movie camera was fixed inside the LM, pointing out of one of the windows, taking 1 frame per second.
Finally, the astronauts had a 70mm Hasselblad camera to take photos whilst on the surface. Armstrong used this for almost all the pictures that were taken, and the famous sequence of colour stills of an astronaut coming down the ladder are pictures that he took of Aldrin.

  15. QUESTION:
How was the technology used in the movie Red Planet the same as NASA's Mars Rovers?
The Mars landing sequence in this y2k movie was nearly identical to the real life 2004 landing of the Rovers Opportunity and Spirit, 4 years later. How was that possible? I'm thinking someone at the studio had some Nasa files !

    • ANSWER:
Assuming you are refering to the balloon landing system used by the Mars Exploration Rovers: The 1996 Pathfinder mission used a smaller but identical system of inflated balloons. Even if that were not so, the planning timeline for space missions is years long and in some cases longer than a decade, so the landing system would have been known long before the 2003 landings, probably long enough before to be known by the movie makers.
      .
Another example: in 1967 Norman Rockwell painted a picture of the moon landing that looks practically identical to the actual event, even though the landing wasn't until two years later. It wasn't prescience, just research.

  16. QUESTION:
How do I take pictures/videotape the night sky?
I have an Olympus Stylus-9000 12 megapixel camera (nothing fancy, not a professional camera) And I'm really interested in sky watching, but I cant take pictures because its too dark and you cant see anything. So is there some way I can mess with the camera settings to make it see the stars and stuff?

    • ANSWER:
I'm going to be honest with you, shooting the night sky is not as easy as one might think. There are many factors other than your camera that make a difference.

First off, your eyes are much more sensitive to light than your camera is. While you might think stars are bright, your camera doesn't. Your brain also does a terrific job of separating things that are bright and things that are dark, and tells your eyes to make bright things look darker, and dark things to look brighter, so you end up seeing a balanced photo.

Cameras aren't so smart. Well, not yet at least. Ever wonder why shadows in afternoon sunlight look so much darker on your camera than they did when you saw them with your own eyes? Things that we might not think are very bright or significant make a much bigger difference on a camera. This is especially true when shooting pictures at night. Light sources like city lights and the moon are actually really bright and will hide away the stars from your image.

So, the first thing you need to watch out for when taking starfield photos are other sources of light, especially the moon. The best results are on a new moon. And try to get as far from the city as possible. You'll also need to wait quite a while after dusk.

The other thing is your camera. You're almost definitely going to need to use manual settings on your camera, most cameras don't have a preset for star field photography. If you've ever tried manual settings, you may have discovered the "ISO" menu. A higher ISO is more sensitive to light, and a lower ISO is less sensitive to light. High ISOs are typically better because you can take pictures handheld without shaking, but lower ISOs have a clearer image that doesn't look as grainy (lots of tiny little dots in the picture). One might expect that you should use a high ISO when shooting at night, but it is in fact quite the opposite. High ISOs make dark parts of the image look super-grainy, so your black sky will be littered with tiny dots. To avoid this, you'll need a way to stabilize your camera (a tripod is usually best, but you can get creative) and use a low ISO to keep the dark sky smooth. I'd use ISO 200, but I suggest you don't go higher than ISO 800 if you absolutely need to go higher. Turn off the flash and use a slow shutter speed (15-30 seconds is usually enough, depending on how clear your sky is).

The last thing that can be a problem (if you do everything else right) is your actual camera. Small cameras like yours are great for about 90% of images, but unfortunately starfields may fall under the 10%. Most portable cameras (exceptions include the Fuji X100 and Leica X1) have a really small image sensor, so they don't characterize tiny light sources (stars are basically point sources) very well. I know this isn't what you're going to want to hear, but slide film actually works best for starfield photography. But that isn't saying your camera is incapable, especially if you pay close attention to the light. The most important factor is the light that may be polluting your image. While the camera may be an issue, its not the deciding factor (its almost never the camera's fault, almost always the light you throw at it).

As far as video goes, I have little advice other than to take multiple photos and put them together as a movie. Most of the dazzling starfield videos you see are done this way.

      Good luck!

  17. QUESTION:
When (if) 'New Moon' the movie starts production, How can i get involved?

If anyone knows any information about how myself and a friend can get involved. I know production hasn't started, but I wanted to know if anyone knows anything about it. I am willing to do anything to participate in making the movie. Whether it be helping out around the sets, cleaning up, pre or post production, or even as extras. If ANYONE has ANY information now, or when they do, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. Thanks so much!!

    • ANSWER:
Movie productions don't just hire anyone who wants to work on the film. You have to already be employed in the motion picture industry.

  18. QUESTION:
Is it bad to post a picture of a movie ticket online?
I took a picture of my ticket for Harry Potter and I want to post it on my Facebook. Is that bad? Could someone steal my ticket information to use for themselves if I do that?

    • ANSWER:

  19. QUESTION:
Are there any pictures of aro form New Moon the movie?
I have been looking for pictures of Michael sheen as Aro in new moon, but have yet to find a site that shows any. Does any one know a site that show pictures of Michael Sheen as Aro?

    • ANSWER:

  20. QUESTION:
Are there any major differences between the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone book and the movie?
Can I do a book report with the movie or do I miss too much of what the book has? The report only asks for a paragraph summary and some other questions. I can the book read if I need to, I just don't have very much time left.

    • ANSWER:
      Ugh, I can name TONS:(

1.) In the book, when Harry, Ron, and Hermione are down in the dungeons, there's another puzzle, which Hermione is able to solve: a Potions puzzle.
2.) I think that they should have gotten a plainer, less pretty actress to play Hermione, even if Emma did have bushy hair. They tried to Hollywood Hermione. In the books, Hermione's looks are nothing special. She has BUSHY brown hair and big front teeth.
3.) None of the Weasleys have FIRE engine red hair in the movie. None of them have red enough hair. The Weasleys hair is RED. Enough said!
4.) They weren't freckly enough, either.
5.) Ron wasn't tall and lanky/gangly, with a long, pointy nose and big hands and feet as the book describes him.
6.) Harry's hair wasn't JET black, and his eyes weren't green green. His hair wasn't wild or messy enough.
7.) McGonagal has BLACK hair and square spectacles.
8.) Dumbledore has moon shaped spectacles.
9.) They meet NEVILLE first, on the train.
10.) They meet Malfoy and Crabbe and Goyle on the train, not at Hogwarts, the first time.
11.) Mrs. Dursley has blond hair, not brown.
12.) I pictured Dudley to be WAY more fat, and he's supposed to have pink skin and blond hair slabbed over his head.
13.) And some of the script isn't really perfect either, but that can't be helped, you can't rewrite the whole book:)

Don't get me wrong, I LOVED the movie, but I think that lots of good details were missed out.

  21. QUESTION:
If Hollywood made a Sailor Moon movie, who would you like to see play the characters?
Who would you cast as Sailor Moon, Mercury, Mars, etc?

    • ANSWER:
lol cool question! Um.... let's see... if I were casting I’d have a fresh cast, but for this question’s sake I’ll have to pick ‘already famous’ people =P

  24. QUESTION:
What are some movies or tv shows that relate to the Odyssey?
I need to write an essay with some examples of tv shows or movies, or possibly even music, poems, or pictures that relate to the Odyssey. I know that there was a Simpsons episode about the Odyssey but I need more than that please.

    • ANSWER:
I found this list on Wikipedia of movies and tv that relates to the Odyssesy but have not seen any of them:

-"Pandorum has many story elements of Odyssey."

-"Dominic Allen's stage play Odyssey loosely adapts the story into a post-apocalyptic setting, basing the Odysseus character on Ezra Pound."

-"Zachary Mason's The Lost Books of the Odyssey (2007) is a series of short stories that rework Homer's original plot in a contemporary style reminiscent of Italo Calvino."

-"American progressive metal band Symphony X interprets multiple scenes of the epic in their song, The Odyssey (2002)."

-"The Coen Brothers' 2000 film O Brother, Where Art Thou? is loosely based on Homer's poem."

-"Charles Frazier's novel Cold Mountain (1997) borrows much from the Odyssey to tell the story of an American Civil War veteran's homecoming."

"Similarly, Daniel Wallace's Big Fish: A Novel of Mythic Proportions (1998) adapts the epic to the American South, while also incorporating tall tales into its first-person narrative much as Odysseus does in the Apologoi (Books 9-12)."

-"The Odyssey (1997), a made-for-TV movie directed by Andrei Konchalovsky, is a slightly abbreviated version of the epic."

-"The Japanese-French anime Ulysses 31 (1981) updates the ancient setting into a 31st century space opera."

-"Omeros (1991), an epic poem by Derek Walcott, is in part a retelling of the Odyssey, set on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia."

-"The first canto of Ezra Pound's The Cantos (1922) is both a translation and a retelling of Odysseus' journey to the underworld."

-"Nikos Kazantzakis aspires to continue the poem and explore more modern concerns in The Odyssey: A Modern Sequel (1938)."

-"The 1954 Broadway musical The Golden Apple by librettist John Treville Latouche and composer Jerome Moross is freely adapted from the Iliad and the Odyssey, re-setting the action to the American state of Washington in the years after the Spanish-American War, with events inspired by the Iliad in Act One and events inspired by the Odyssey in Act Two."

-"In Jean-Luc Godard's film Le Mépris (1963), German film director Fritz Lang plays himself attempting to direct a film adaptation of the Odyssey."

-"Il ritorno d'Ulisse in Patria, first performed in 1640, is an opera by Monteverdi based on the second half of Homer's Odyssey."

-"Every episode of James Joyce's modernist novel Ulysses (1922) has an assigned theme, technique and correspondences between its characters and those of Homer's Odyssey."

-"Cyclops by Euripides, the only extant satyr play, retells the respective episode with a humorous twist."

-"True Story, written by Lucian of Samosata in the 2nd century AD, is a parody of the Odyssey describing a journey beyond the Pillars of Hercules and to the moon."

-"Some of the tales of Sinbad the Sailor from The Book of One Thousand and One Nights were taken from the Odyssey."

-"Merugud Uilix maicc Leirtis ("On the Wandering of Ulysses, son of Laertes") is an eccentric Old Irish version of the material; the work exists in a 12th-century manuscript that linguists believe is based on an 8th-century original."

-"Dante Alighieri has Odysseus append a new ending to the Odyssey in canto XXVI of the Inferno."

-In the book Shopaholic and Baby the characters reference Penelope and Odysseus briefly in 1 chapter. The Doctor says she and the woman's husband are like Penelope and Odysseus, and the husband says that is not true.

      Hope this helps!

  25. QUESTION:
What did u think of the movie twilight? 10 points to the first to answer this question! ?
Did it exceed your expectations? Or were you disappointed?
I myself thought it was vamptastic, except when Edward sparkled, it knida looked like they just put some cheap glitter on him, but overall, I thought it was good. I am such a fanpire! But what did you think of the movie?

    • ANSWER:
Okay, so i've read all the books like 4 times, and i was so excited to see it come to life. I LOVE THE BOOKS! It was DEFINATELY A LET DOWN FROM THE BOOKS. but you cant expect a 400 page book to fit into 2 hours. so i just thought of it as individually a movie. well....tried to anyway.
i was worried about kristen stewart as bella, but i was actually suprised by how much i liked her, except that she bliked, like way to much and had mini seziures every time she talked. lol. and she had 2 expressions. but i thought she did good overall. even though i think I should have been bella. =]
and OMG, EDWARD CULLEN! robert pattinson did such a freaking good job and was sooooo hottt!! AHHHHHH! And Although no one can reach the perfection of edward cullen, i was dying the whole time cuz he was REALLY REALLY close to the perfcet man, Along with emmet, jasper and carlisle, idk how any teen girl could resist this movie. they are all such FINE guys. YUM!

i'm not a jacob fan and HAHA he looked bad with long hair.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED THE MOVIE.
but here is what i didnt like.
I wish they would have had a bigger budget, becaues i think they coudl have done a lot more with it, and included some more scenes that i though were important from the book. like the medow scene, and the blood typing scene. etc. and it was really choppy.
i think all of the cullens neede more screne time, cuz they are all hot and perfect and i love them all. (except maybe rosalie, that *****.) lol.
i think they went way to fast with them falling in love, it felt like in 4 days they were in love. and i know that its a movie and people would get bored but i just think it went to fast. they needed more time together alone to fall in love and so we could see the development of their relationship like in the book.
I didnt like the way they portrayed edwards sparkling, because at first i could barly see it until they close uped on his abs (yum) and it was wierd how he made a chime sound. and it just looked like he was sweating, i wasnt happy with it.
i pictured the cullens house different. it was suppose to be a giant white and glass mansion. and they left out the whole part about carlisle's history with all those pictures. and the cross. i didnt like it. and i pictured bellas house different, too.
and the movie just moved to fast over all, which made me sad.
they also didnt metion jaspers power!!!!
and i didnt like how easy they made it for bella to sneak away from alice and jasper. wayyyy too easy.
and angelas personality was all wrong.
ohh, and the billly black and edwards drive by stare down was freaking hilarious. billys face got like all mangled. it was so cheesy.

      What i LOVED!
the harry potter trailer before the move!!! I SCREAMED!!
The BASEBALL SCENE. it was freaking sweet. and i loved that alice pointed her toe when she pitched
all the humor! i wasn't expeting it to be so funny! every time i saw jaspers face i just burst out laughing cuz he was soooo cute!
the scene when all the cullens walk in and its like in slow motion. SO HOT. i loved all the actors they picked for the cullens. perfect. and james, he was GOOD and FINE.
i really liked the actors. great job.
ALL THE GUYS were SOO amazing! and i was even crusing on alice a bit! shes so cute
the scene where bella and edward come to school together and hes in his sunglasses and everyones staring at them! and hes all like "i'm breaking all the rules now, since i'm going to hell anyway!" just so awesome and cute and funny.
MIKE NEWTON! he was soooo cute.
and they portrayed jessica perfectly i think.
i also loved the lines from the book thrown in. like the lion and lamb and 3 things she was sure of.
And the kiss scene! she wasnt wearing pants! it was smokin! i wish i was her.
and i loved when the are up in the tree just talking and falling in love! aww.
also the way edward drives when hes escaping those creepers in port angelus! that was AWESOME!

and i cant wait for NEW MOON. even though i'm depressed through most of its cuz edwards gone...=]

i think they should get a new screne writer and director, also, cuz i think it could be soo much better.
      but i still LOVED it!!

  26. QUESTION:
what are the greatest movies that are impossible to make similer movies?
Movies like Jurassic Park, Star wars, Aliens, Back to the Future.
people tried to make movies like these movies, but it failed.

    • ANSWER:
      Jaws
      Charade
      Bonnie & Clyde
      To Sir, With Love
      King Kong (1933)
      Harold and Maude
      Gone with the Wind
      A Clokwork Orange
      To Kill a Mockingbird
      Romeo & Juliet (1968)
      Raiders of the Lost Ark
      2001: A Space Odyssey
      The Rocky Horror Picture Show
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
It Happened One Night~Hollywood did try, including using Clark Gable in similar films!

I'll end with the Sean Connery/James Bond films, which inspired hundreds of spy movies, including James Coburn/Derek Flint and Dean Martin/Matt Helm. While a few of them were somewhat successful, none of them reached classic status~just cult status.

U.S. and other filmmakers tried to duplicate the success of some of these but generally failed. For example, after "Romeo & Juliet", they tried "A Walk with Love & Death" and "Brother Sun, Sister Moon", both of which flopped at the box office. There were many attempts to recreate the magic of "Charade", but none succeeded, definitely not the remake with Thandie Newton!

  27. QUESTION:
Who else thought the Jake werewolf looked so fake in the New Moon Trailer at MTV awards?
The best movie of the year, the most anticipated movie of 2009 and to make Jake look like that?
I thought they could have put more money into it to make it look more realistic!
I loved the beginning of the trailer and when Jacob was about to jump in I was like "HERE IT COMES!"
    and he looks so fake!
    Who else was disappointed?

    • ANSWER:
i wouldnt say i am disappointed i just think that us twilight fans probably pictured it different...i thought it looked to computer generated...because like when you read the book you imagine the texture and having jakes qualities...bcuz after all it is him

  28. QUESTION:
How do i increase my chance of getting the movie role i want?
I really really really want the part of Jane in New Moon, i already have my resume done and a picture (my resume consists of one commercial, 3 Park Road Playhouse plays and 2 school plays) how can i impress the casting crew for New Moon?

    • ANSWER:
Rehearse some of Jane's lines in New Moon. Read the book and highlight parts where it describes Jane, so you can look and act like her. She's got a high pitched voice, so you need to perfect that, without sounding ridiculous. Have confidence, know you lines, smile a lot and act professional! No giggling unless the part calls for it! Don't make fun of yourself and try again if you mess up.

  29. QUESTION:
Where can I find the scene in New Moon where Edward, Bella and Alice are coming back from Italy?
I know there is a picture for it but I can't find the actual video, and it's not on the DVD. Anyone know where it can be found?

    • ANSWER:
That part wasn't in the movie, so there is nowhere to find it.

  30. QUESTION:
How do you feel about Vanessa Hudgens in New Moon?
I personally think it would ruin the movie. Does anyone agree? Disagree?

    • ANSWER:
I totally agree with you. I really think that's she's too sweet and well, Disney.

And I can't picture her at all as a werewolf. I can't even picture her as Leah Clearwater! I can't picture her at all in the movie. If she is in the movie I will be very upset.

But maybe I just don't like her at all.

  31. QUESTION:
What's the song called from the movie Life that plays during the "fast-forward"scene?
It's the song that plays right after Martin and Eddie stop being friends. The scene shows iconic pictures from different era's (including MLK & the moon landing). I've checked the soundtrack but couldn't find the right song. Thanks.

    • ANSWER:
I believe you're talking about that song that played right after 'Can't Get Right' left.
It's called New Day by Wyclef Jean.

I had to pull out my DVD to see what you were talking about. It should be on the soundtrack CD, though, as the last track.

      Here's the song - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jknbN7IlvsU

  32. QUESTION:
What are some good, but weird or random books, movies, music, and websites for 11-13 year old girls?
Hey, i want to know some awesome books, movies, music, and websites for an 11-13 year old girl.

    • ANSWER:
For books, try anything by tamora pierce. She writes fantasy and adventure books for kids anywhere between 9 and 18, i'd guess, though i know i'll still follow her books for as long as she writes them!
Most of them are sets of four books and there are two worlds. One is the midieval times with fantasy animals, kings, queens, knights...my favorite series from that world are Protector of the Small, about a girl in knight training and all the things she has to face to get through it. And I like the immortals quartet, about a girl who has a gift that allows her to speak to animals and heal them.
The other universe that her books take place in is about four kids who have no family and are brought to a temple of magic training where they find out about their magic and become foster siblings and friends.
Other books i like are I, Coriander. Twilight series. Sadako(it's a picture book, but it's based off a true story that always makes me cry). The Dragons of Deltora.
You can also try manga, like Vampire Knight, Full moon wo sagashite, Meru Puri (a good one to start on cause it's not too long)

  33. QUESTION:
Would you see Twilight again? And are you planning to buy it when it comes out on DVD?
I LOVED the movie. I thought the acting was incredible. They did mess up on the plot most of the time, but the avid readers already knew what should have happened. I am planning to buy it immediately when it comes out on DVD. How about you?

    • ANSWER:
Okay, so i've read all the books like 4 times, and i was so excited to see it come to life.

I didnt like the way they portrayed his sparkling, because at first i could barly see it until they close uped on his abs (yum) and it was wierd how he made a chime sound. but i guess it was good that they didint go over the top and make it cheesy.
i pictured the cullens house and bellas house different, but thats nothign wrong with the movie, its just my imagination.
and the movie just moved to fast over all, which made me sad.
they also didnt metion jaspers power.
and i didnt like how easy they made it for bella to sneak away from alice and jasper.
and angelas personality was all wrong.

      What i LOVED!
the harry potter trailer before the move!!! I SCREAMED!!
The BASEBALL SCENE. it was freaking sweet.
      EDWARD IS PERFECT.
all the humor! i was expeting it to be so funny.
the scene when all the cullens walk in and its like in slow motion. SO HOT. i loved all the actors they picked for the cullens. perfect. and james, he was GOOD and FINE.
      EDWARD IS PERFECT.
ALL THE GUYS! and i was even crusing on alice a bit! shes so cute
the scene where bella and edward come to school together and hes in his sunglasses and everyones staring at them! just so awesome and cute and funny.
      EDWARD IS PERFECT.
MIKE NEWTON! he was soooo cute.
and they portrayed jessica perfectly i think.

  34. QUESTION:
Can I audition for noon moon without having and agent?
I was wondering if it is going to be possible to audition for the sequel to Twilight, New Moon without having an agent? And if so, does anybody know when or where auditions are going to be held and how I'd go about getting an audition? Thanks and please no mean answers!

    • ANSWER:
Probably not. You should wait till something more approachable comes into the picture, like a open audition for the extra in that movie. The characters with lines are most likely going to be filled with either big names, or people who producers thought fit. Start out with getting a local agent, with good reviews. Try searching google maps. Then, work your way up. The business is very hard. If you were wanting a role with lines, you might as well forget it, because the casting directors are most likely looking for someone with a more filled resume.

  35. QUESTION:
What movies would be considered for an Academy Award for Best Picture for 2009?
2009 is over now but I don't know what'll be considered for the best movie of 2009 since the year doesn't seem like a good year for movies (Twlight, Transformers, 2012, Terminator Salvation, etc.) I can only think of Inglorious Basterds, Avatar, and Up in the Air. Does anyone know of any other good movies?

    • ANSWER:
Inglourious Basterds, Up In The Air, and Avatar are clearly the front runners, but this is going to be an interesting race with 10 slots instead of 5... here's my predicted nominees.

      1. Avatar
      2. Up In The Air
      3. Inglourious Basterds
      4. An Education
      5. Precious
      6. The Hurt Locker
      7. Invictus
      8. A Serious Man
      9. Up
      10. (500) Days Of Summer

Here are some other movie's that will be nominated....

The Messenger (Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor)
      Moon (Best Actor)
The Fantastic Mr. Fox (Best Animated Film)
      District 9 (Best Adapted Screenplay)
      Julie & Julia (Best Actress)
      Crazy Heart (Best Actor)
      The Blind Side (Best Actress)
The Lovely Bones (Best Supporting Actor)
      The Last Station
      It's Complicated
      The Young Victoria
      Bright Star
      The Informant!

Star Trek & The Hangover are longshots, but they are the kind of movie's that the 10 slot race was made for....

  36. QUESTION:
what are the characteristics of jane in the book twilight new moon?
i haven't read the book and would like to know how she acts since i have found out about every other character besides her. Tell me what you imagine her looking like and how she behaves in the book. OH and would you rather a new face play her in the new movie or someone more recognizable?

    • ANSWER:
I pictured Jane like the little blond girl from the Precious Moments collection. Jane is supposed to have the face of an angel, and she and her twin are short, blond, and the youngest members of the Volturi. Jane also has an evil temper. She has the power to make your mind believe that your body is in pain. Pain that makes Edward double over in an attempt to protect Bella. Not that it would have effected her anyway. Hope I helped.

I was looking at pictures of the werewolves *swoon* and I saw the tattoos. I was like, WTC, those aren't supposed to be there. Can anyone tell me?

    • ANSWER:
Its the pack tattoo. In the same way the cullens had the family crest that was in twilight, the movie people have added it in.
      Artistic license i guess!

  40. QUESTION:
How come NASA photos of the shuttle and space station never show stars?
You would think the view of stars would be phenomenal in space. I saw the IMAX movie space station. No stars. I was looking at shuttle photos of space walks. No stars. How come?

    • ANSWER:
For the same reason they don't show up in photos from the moon landings. And that was used as evidence that they never happened. So I guess all these shuttle missions never happened either.

The reason is because the subject of the photo, in order to be properly exposed, requires the exposure to be far too little for starlight to get picked up. Our eyes are amazing in their ability to see a wide range of magnitudes at once. If you were seeing this with your eyes, you would see lots of stars, but cameras aren't that good. If you set the aperture, (or shutter speed) so that stars would show up, the bright images that you are photographing would be grossly overexposed.

Soothsayer, are you reading these other answers? I used to teach photography. I have done a lot of astrophotography. If you had any experience in these things, you would know this stuff. So learn. And stop parroting stupid conspiracy theories without having any idea what you are talking about. You don't have some kind of inside information. You don't have a privileged view and you're not busting a major conspiracy. You're just gullible and you listen to the wrong people.

I used to take pictures using a regular 50 mm lens on my SLR, mounted to an equatorial clock drive. With ASA 400 film, I had to set the aperture to f-2.8 and use a several second exposure to get decent pictures of stars. That's about a thousand times the exposure you would use to photograph sunlit scenes. (More like 10,000).

A scene was in Eclipse where they were watching romeo and juliet in class and edward was talking to bella and then the teacher interrupted them and asked edward to recite the last few lines the movie just shown. Here is a link to the scene:

  44. QUESTION:
How can I improve my descriptive language?
I am trying to write a novel, and I'm having trouble making my descriptions sound the way I want them to. I imagine a scene like it is happening on a movie screen, and I have trouble translating it to words in a way that gives it the same thrill and emotion. Everything just sounds too cliche, and I keep editing the same few paragraphs over and over again until I can't think of anything else.

What can I do to improve my descriptions?

    • ANSWER:
In addition to using figurative language like metaphors/similes, analogies, etc to describe something, you could use other literary techniques like personification to bring a scene to life. You would find words that gave the object human-like characteristics. For example: the moon has a "face" or tree's limbs stretch like "fingers." Etc. A book's "personality."

Also pay attention to your diction. The word choice is what strongly determines a scene's atmosphere, tone, and personality. You would choose very strong verbs and nouns that said exactly what you needed them to say instead of relying on adjectives and adverbs. Example: "[Shuffling] leaves" is better than "slowly moving leaves".

You can use symbolism in names as well to set a tone. "Swindler's Tavern," for instance, tells the reader that hustlers and scam-artists are regular patrons of the pub and this sets an ominous tone.

You also want to pick and choose your details carefully. Don't offer wide-sweeping descriptions of everything. You need to use smoke and mirrors to trick the reader into thinking they're there..and you do this by using the reader's imagination to fill in the gaps. The trick is to describe only the tiniest of details to help the reader paint the scene.

So describe the bucket full of vomit sitting outside the pub's doorway or the webs of smoke weaving between the ceiling rafters. Or you can describe the stream of urine that crawls along the dirt path.

You focus on the tiny details to help the reader paint the picture. With the above details, you don't even need to describe the missing shingles on the pub's roof, the broken windows, or the foul stench within because you can already infer this. They will already see this.

      Good luck.

  45. QUESTION:
Is Kristen Stewart going to be any better of an actress in New Moon?
    Just wondering for your opinions.
I thought she was very monotone and quite depressing in Twilight, which isn't the way i pictured Bella. Do you think she'll smile at all when she knows Edward is staying with her?

    • ANSWER:
I really disliked her in Twilight. She blinks non-stop and had bad timing, i.e. when Edward was supposed to interrupt her in the hospital, she stopped speaking a second too soon... things like that. And although I would love to blame Kristen Stewart 100%, I've decided that a lot of the problem was Catherine Hardwick's direction.

It wasn't just Kristen who had embarrassingly substandard moments. The whole movie was a bit cheesy (don't get me wrong, I've still seen it a few times and will buy it when it comes out). When Edward first caught a whiff of Bella he looked like he was about to puke or something, not like he had just inhaled the most mouth-watering scent ever in his life. That's the director's job to say, 'uh, try a bit less gagging...'

But, hopefully someone will tell that girl (Kristen) to QUIT BLINKING! and keep her fingers out of her mouth...

Maybe Dakota Fanning will teach her a few acting skills.

  46. QUESTION:
How well will New Moon do in the Box Office?
Many people who saw the Twilight movie complained about it and talked about how it wasn't how "they pictured it". After some people were disappointed with the first movie how well do you think the second movie will do?

    • ANSWER:
Well sure it probably won't win any Oscars but Twilight was a hit and I enjoyed it. I've read all the books and think they are great and New Moon is just amazing...my favorite and also Rob Pattinsons. Although it doesn't have Edward in so much it's way more emotional in the way he leaves and then returns. I did hear though that they are still casting, and they have a tight time period to do the movie in, so who knows.

  47. QUESTION:
what is your opinion on the movie and books of the twilight series?
okay just say anything you want and your opinions on
the twilight series and the movie!
im just in the mood to read everything and anything about it!

    • ANSWER:
I really loved the books... when my friends started reading them I thought they were another stupid trend... like "oh ill read it and like it because everyone else does" and all that good stuff. So I really didn’t want to get into it. I just figured everyone was making a big fuss about nothing... but the more my friends told me about it... the more curious i got. So I lent Twilight from a friend and started reading it to see if it was all it was cracked up to be… and it was… I really couldn’t put it down!! It hurt to leave the book closed for too long! I didn’t want to do anything but read it! And the amazing thing is that I hate reading… it’s just not my thing but I read that book in three days. And that’s a big deal for me lol! So after that, I wanted to know what would happen to the wonderful characters next, so I borrowed New Moon from one of my friends and that one truly depressed me… I don’t think I really knew I was depressed at the time but I was. My mom was like “you just haven’t been yourself lately… are you okay?” And I said “it’s the book” lol. So that book took me a longer time to read because it was so sad at parts that I just kept putting it down but I still really liked it. Then Eclipse… the sexiest of the three was just sooooo much fun to read!!! There were so many parts where I would just start screaming and kicking like a little girl. I just finished that book today actually =] so now I’m reading the books again! I reallllyyyy love that series! I CANNOT wait for Breaking Dawn and Midnight Sun!!!!!!!!!!!!

The movie really excites me! I think they picked a great cast! They aren’t exactly how I pictured them in my head but they are still really good actors! They will play the roles really well!! And that’s all I can really ask for. The movie won’t be exactly like the book and definitely won’t be as amazing but I still think it will be great!! I can’t wait to see it! I watch the trailer, clip and behind the scenes 456894 times a day lol!! And I’ve already made plans with sooo many people to go see it the minute it comes out!

  48. QUESTION:
Where can I buy all three sailor moon movies?
I have been looking for them online but haven't. Could you help?

    • ANSWER:
I don't know of any store you can get them at online -they're pretty hard to come by, and can cost around . Try eBay, Amazon and Craigslist. Be careful of the bootlegs on eBay! The OFFICIAL Sailor Moon box set is called "The Dream Set" and has a picture of Jupiter, Venus, Mars and Mercury in spotlights on the front. The bootleg sets have three pictures of Sailor Moon on the front, taken from the covers of the three movies. Also, it may be cheaper to hunt down the single movie DVDs rather than get the boxset, though it looks nicer.
