  2. QUESTION:
What movies would you watch when you feel disappointed?
I feel really disappointed right now! It's like you're expecting something really big and wonderful, and then it's a huge letdown! :( Like blowing up a balloon watching it float in the air...then having someone shoot a dart through it. That kind of icky.
Anyone know any movies where I can either wallow some more or laugh a lot? A list would be great.

Btw, no R rated movies and if you know any more recent movies, that'd be great.
    Thanks.

    • ANSWER:
      Breakfast At Tiffany's

  3. QUESTION:
How to get movies off of netflix recently watched?
So I recently watched some r rated movies that I shouldn't have and I want to get them off of the recently watched but even if I watch 20 movies after them, they won't go away. Please help!

    • ANSWER:
The only way to remove them is to watch enough to move them off the list. Depending on the device the list can be up to 60 titles long. There is no way to click them individually off the list as the ask.com link suggests.

  4. QUESTION:
What are some good movies to rent?
My dad and I are putting together a list of movies we want to rent. I need to find some good movies that are appropriate and something that I would like (I'm 15) and something that my parents would also enjoy. I'm looking for something in the PG and PG13 range...
In your suggestions try to stay away from horror and R-rated movies and anything that would potentially be awkward to watch with parents (like no overly inappropriate comedies filled with innuendo or movies with sex scenes, etc)

    Thanks a bunch!

    • ANSWER:

  5. QUESTION:
What's the difference between an "unrated" movie and a "not rated" movie?
I just got Netflix, and some of the movies, like ones that were made before movies were rated, are shown to be "not rated". While newer movies are listed as "unrated", which I know means that it exceeds the R rating because of all the content. But we've found some newer movies, like made in 2010, that were "not rated". Just wondering if there is a difference and what it is to an "unrated" film.

    • ANSWER:
Not rated: they simply haven't classified what age group it is appropriate to. It's a bit risky for the viewers.

  6. QUESTION:

What activities are forbidden when we are "in but not of the world"?
Here are a few I hear often: drinking, watching R-Rated movies, cussing - what else might you add to the list?

    • ANSWER:
Do nothing that does not glorify God:

1Jo 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things [that are] in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1Jo 2:16 For all that [is] in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

1Jo 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

  8. QUESTION:
Does netflix keep a record of the movies you watch?
We just got netflix, and my parents are quite strict with the movies we view. I am almost 18, but I was wondering if there is any way they would know if I watched an R rated movie. Is there a list of the movies you view, or will they not know if I watched a "questionable" movie?

    Thanks <3

    • ANSWER:
      Yes is does.

click "your account & help" then "See all DVD shipping activity" it shows a list of every movie you ordered.

Not to mention you have to add the movie to a que to recieve it and it will be on the list till you get it then send it back. Also it has a big thing at the top of the home page saying (how did you like "movie name"?) after you return it.

    • ANSWER:
You can limit movie ratings allowed for watching instantly by setting the maturity level on your account.
This blocks watching titles with forbidden ratings, as well as requiring a password when you add DVDs with those ratings to that profile’s Queue.

      To set the maturity level:
      - Go to Your Account.
      - Under Preferences, click on "Account Profiles"
      - In the Change column, click on "Edit".
      - Set the maturity level.

Please note that watching instantly is only available on the main account. Additional profiles will not be able to watch instantly.

      ...
you can open an additional account for yourself if you do not watch instant movies, or set the parental control and change its setting whenever you watch.

  13. QUESTION:
What are things you can only do after you turn 17?
I'm turning 17 and I want to do everything that I couldn't before. I could think of 3: buy tickets to an R-rated movie, buy an M-rated video game, and give blood. Anything else?

    • ANSWER:
Now that you are 17, you can work full time without parent's consent. Depending on which state you are in, you may also have additional driving privileges, can become an organ donor, may be legal to marry, can buy spray paint, and have eligibility to join the Marines. But instead, you might want to put part of your energy preparing for next year when voting drops onto the to-do list, opportunities to be licenced for many activities that take adult responsibility and study (equipment, firearms, machinery, etc.).

At 18 comes the ability to execute a legal contract (all kinds of work, commerce, transactions, banking, investments, etc.) all of which you could begin study at 17. At 18 comes an opportunity to join the national bone marrow registry, as well as assuming the mantle of many statutory responsibilities of being an adult, which means there is no excuse for not knowing the laws of any state you are currently in or are visiting, AND that you check your partner's ID to be sure they are also over 18 - no kidding). BTW: I believe the items you've already selected are a fine celebration.

  14. QUESTION:
Can my friends mom buy our tickets to an R rated movie and then not attend?
She's offered to buy the tickets but she doesn't want to stay. Will be allowed in? Please add a source from a list of official rules or something.

    • ANSWER:
Most theaters do not check your ticket as you walk in the theater. Just buy tickets to a PG or Pg-13 rated movie...then when you get to where the different theaters are just walk into the R rated one. There is never anyone to see who walks in. They just tear your ticket in half after you buy it and tell you which theater it is in. Just walk into an R rated movie and no one will stop you. You may look weird to the other adults in the theater, as they will be able to see that you are kids, but they won't tell anyone or kick you out. They won't care.

  19. QUESTION:
Netflix is getting the mpaa ratings wrong?
I've noticed that several R rated films (examples include Nick of Time, The Town, The Hurt Locker, Gone baby gone, and Green Zone) are all listed as Rated R for the same reason:
"Pervasive strong language, some sexuality and brief drug use "
Now as I'm looking. It seems to say this for pretty much every R rated movie. anyone know why?

    • ANSWER:
It is a standard for the MPAA ratings...

R:"Restricted, Under 17 Requires Accompanying Parent Or Adult Guardian."
In the opinion of the Rating Board, this film definitely contains some adult material. Parents are strongly urged to find out more about this film before they allow their children to accompany them. An R-rated film may include hard language, or tough violence, or nudity within sensual scenes, or drug abuse or other elements, or a combination of some of the above, so that parents are counseled, in advance, to take this advisory rating very seriously. Parents must find out more about an R-rated movie before they allow their teenagers to view it.

  22. QUESTION:
What is the value of the movie rating system?
How does the movie rating system benefit us and what are its drawbacks? Also, please include a source/ website where I could find the exact info
    THANKS!

    • ANSWER:
The movie rating system in the US is one of various motion picture rating systems used to help patrons decide what movies are appropriate for children, for adolescents, and for adults. The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA)'s rating system is the most recognized classification system for determining potentially offensive content.

However, its system has been criticized for the secrecy of its decisions. The MPAA has never published an official list of all the exact words, actions, and exposed body parts used to determine a movie's rating. One of the strongest criticism against the current rating system is its alleged inconsistency. A study from Harvard University indicated the MPAA has allowed more violence and sexually explicit content into their films over the past decade citing examples of content in R-rated movies a decade ago, and similar content in PG-13 movies of today.

Movie ratings now appears to have a clearly established use as part of the marketing strategy for a film. Thus, the pretense that offensive content can be considered "adult" serves as a misleading marketing strategy to attract a youthful audience, often for purely sensational or provocative content for its own sake.

Many critics of the system, both conservative and liberal, would like to see the MPAA ratings unveiled and the standards made public.

Censorship tactics may be used to force/threaten a filmmaker to delete content offensive to the personal sensibilities of the board's members; the lopsided prejudice against sex in relation to violence; and the use of psychological jargon to justify restricting films because of their themes rather than their images, even when inexplicit.

The MPAA could also use its power to punish creative filmmakers while rewarding conservative, uncontroversial filmmakers and films with open-ended ratings.

  23. QUESTION:
How do I get my students to stop telling their parents I am showing them movies during most of my classes?
Details: I picked good exciting movies like Platoon and 9 1/2 weeks to keep them interested and told them not to say anything but a few tattle tales keep ruining it for everyone. Any advise?

    • ANSWER:
I have taught my children to NEVER keep secrets from their parents. Of course, they do . . . some things are trivial and really don't matter. My message to them has been "If you feel this is something important to you or to a friend and yet someone has said it was a secret, then tell me anyway. I won't get angry."

Put this in another perspective. A teacher touches a student inapprorpriately and tells the student "not to say anything." What should the student do?

A teacher's activities should ALWAYS be an open book for both students and parents. I absolutely would NOT want my children watching Platoon or 9 1/2 Weeks and if I found that a teacher was showing these movies in the classroom, I would most definitely make waves! As a parent, I should be involved in what my children see.

Both of the movies you mentioned are rated "R" . . . Restricted. The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) defines Restricted as follows:

An R-rated motion picture, in the view of the Rating Board, contains some adult material. An R-rated motion picture may include adult themes, adult activity, hard language, intense or persistent violence, sexually-oriented nudity, drug abuse or other elements, so that parents are counseled to take this rating very seriously. Children under 17 are not allowed to attend R-rated motion pictures unaccompanied by a parent or adult guardian. Parents are strongly urged to find out more about R-rated motion pictures in determining their suitability for their children. Generally, it is not appropriate for parents to bring their young children with them to R-rated motion pictures.

Have you asked the parents if you can be the "adult guardian" required for such a film?

Also, do you have permission to show these movies in a classroom setting? Does your administration know you are showing the films.

WHY are you showing the films? What are the students supposed to be learning?

The list of questions just keeps growing . . .

  24. QUESTION:
what are some movies which are considered generally acceptable viewing for a Christian?
I don't want to waste my limited time on this earth with that secular or athiest crap. I want genuinely Christian fare, and not opinion, but generally established agreement. What are some of these movies? How can I be sure this would be considered genuine?

    • ANSWER:
Well a movie that is VERY popular to be shown in advanced science classes at my private christian high school is "Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed".
It's a 2008 documentary that is the 18th-highest-grossing documentary film in the United States history.

Passion Of Christ- is very popular R Rated movie that many christians watch.

My FAVORITE Christian themed movies is Saving Sarah Cain (very girly, but i thought i would list it)

The Last Sin Eater - is AMAZING considering it is based from a book. Its a story of bringing Christianity in 1850’s Appalachia.

FireProof ( is a lower budget film, but a Christian movie dealing with marriage conflict)

Courageous ( a Christian movie dealing with fatherhood)

The Nativity Story ( supposedly, this is a popular movie in many Christan families with young preteens/teens to enjoy with their parents)

Narnia is a Christian movies series also.

Other Christian films i haven't seen yet :
      October baby
      I am Gabriel
      Left Behind

  25. QUESTION:
Why does Hollywood continue to make movies filled with violence, sex and perversion when the highest grossing?
movies have always been family film, add to this the fact that the United States is 70% Christian?

    • ANSWER:
Actually, it's more like 76%. But don't make the mistake of thinking that everyone who considers themselves Christian are conservative, evangelical fundamentalists. They're not. Only 3.5% belong to the three main Pentecostal/Charismatic denominations. Most are either mainstream Protestants (e.g. Methodists, Lutherans), Catholics or those who don't really go to church but who still consider themselves Christian because they were brought up that way and still believe in the basics.

As for your question, the answer is simple. Hollywood is a business. It wants to sell tickets and make money, so it gives the customers what they want. It doesn't really care if the movies are pious or profane. It uses a simple standard: if people buy tickets to a film, they make more movies like that. If people don't buy tickets, they make fewer movies like that.

In the past, when people wanted to see religious epics (such as "Ben-Hur", "The Ten Commandments" or "The Greatest Story Ever Told") Hollywood churned them out by the dozens.

Tastes have changed, and as society has grown more tolerant of graphic violence and sex, Hollywood has (not surprisingly) obliged them, and given them what they want.

You are right that most of the biggest films have been PG or PG-13, but that's mainly because an R-rating won't allow children to see the film, and that cuts back on ticket sales. But Hollywood is also in the business of selling films that aren't blockbusters, in genres like horror, romantic comedies, sci-fi, etc. Those films sell well, even if they're not usually blockbusters.

And on the top film list, there are actually quite a few R-rated movies that did exceptionally well: "The Hangover", "Saving Private Ryan", "300", "Gladiator", "American "Pie", "The Exorcist", "There's Something about Mary", "The Terminator", "Lethal Weapon", "Animal House", "The Godfather", "Basic Instinct", "Pulp Fiction", "Indecent Proposal", "Porky's", "American Beauty", "The Passion of the Christ"... They all grossed over 0 million, despite heavy violent and/or sexual content.

Hollywood isn't about to pass up that kind of money by censoring themselves.

    • ANSWER:
No. They have a few movies that are in Russian that are available to watch instantly but none of them appear to be appropriate for a 9 year old. All are either R rated or NR-not rated. They don't haven any DVDs that are appropriate either.

Go down to Foreign and click a banner will come up on the right side of the page. Click the arrow beside Foreign Language, it will drop down a list of languages in alphabetical order. 31. QUESTION:
What is the movie twilight going to be rated?
I have heard from several people its going to be R.

    • ANSWER:
It said on imdb.com that it was promised a PG13 rating, even though it's not listed yet. Reasons why it won't be rated R:
      - The Author is a Mormon and does not watch R rated movies. Why would the film company make her book into a movie she wouldn't watch?
      - The novels are way too clean for an R rating. I know books and movies are always different, but the movie will still potray that innocent kind of love.
God Bless and enjoy the film!
      Can't wait!! Team Edward Forever!!!

  32. QUESTION:
What are some really scary horror movies NO R rated horrors please?
I really want to watch a movie that is actually going to scare not one that i am going to get board in.

    thanx very much
i live in australia so there is PG M M-15 MA MA-15

    • ANSWER:
in response to the idiot who said:
"I'll give you the name of a GREAT PG rated horror film if you could name me a really GREAT R rated animated film"

Actually there are a lot of really great animated films that are rated R. Here are a few of them: Fritz the Cat (when released in 1972 this film actually received an X rating to pervasive sex and drug use), Renaissance, Akira, A Scanner Darkly, Waking Life, Waltz with Bashir, Paprika, I Maried a Strange Person, .99, Fist of the North Star, Perfect Blue, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust

Here is a list of some of my favorite non-R horror movies. These are all MPAA ratings used in the states, so I'm not sure how they translate to the rating system used in Australia.

      The Others (PG-13)
      Poltergeist (PG)
the US remake of The Ring (PG-13)
      Drag Me To Hell (PG-13)
      Fido (PG-13)
      1408 (PG-13)
Invasion of the Body Snatcher (the 1978 remake, PG)
The Legend of Hell House (PG)
      Kill Baby Kill (PG)
      Nosferatu the Vampyre (PG)
      Blacula (PG)
      Scream Blacula Scream (PG)
The Bird with the Crystal Plumage (PG)
Four Flies on Grey Velvet (PG)
      Madhouse (PG)

these films were released prior to the MPAA rating system taking effect in 1968. None of them have anything in them that would be too terrifying:

      Night of the Living Dead
      The Haunting (the 1963 original)
      Psycho
      The Innocents
      Carnival of Souls
The House on Haunted Hill (the 1959 original)
      The Last Man on Earth
The Fall of the House of Usher (1960 version)
Masque of the Red Death (1964 version)
Pit and the Pendulum (1961 version)
      Witchfinder General
The Fly (the 1958 original, the 1986 remake is rated R)
The Thing from Another World (the 1982 remake entitled The Thing is rated R)
Dead of Night (1945, there is a completely unrelated film from 1978 which is rated PG)
Night of the Demon (1957, not to be confused with the 1988 film Night of the Demons which is rated R)
Diabolique (1955, the 1996 remake was rated R)
      Eyes Without a Face
      Scream of Fear
      Burn Witch Burn
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (the 1956 original)
Spider Baby or The Maddest Story Ever Told
the old Universal horror movies Frankenstein, Dracula, The Wolf Man, The Mummy, The Black Cat, The Old Dark House etc.
old silent movies like Cabinet of Dr, Caligari, Nosferatu, Phantom of the Opera, Vampyr etc.

  33. QUESTION:
How Can I Get in An R rated Movie ?
I'm 13, & me & my friends wanna go see Splice.
Is there a easy way in without getting caught or anything ?

    • ANSWER:
buy tickets to another movie playing at the same time. (pick a time where the theaters are usually busy so that you and your friends wont be closely watch) wander around the theater first, like go to the bathroom or buy a snack and the go into the theater playing splice. If someone does catch you, say "im looking for a friend, i think he went in here, he turned off his phone etc) if the theaters do not list the name of the movie playing at the entrance go back and look at the list of movies playing at the front of the movie theaters and they might list what theater they are playing in.

  34. QUESTION:

  35. QUESTION:
What are the different ratings for stories on fanfiction.net?
I have just created an account on fanfiction.net and I am completely oblivious as to what the ratings are. I have just finished writing a story on the Hunger Games and I don't know what to rate it! If anybody knows all the ratings, please list all of them and what they mean and what each would include. Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
It mentions on the site, but it's easy to tell you.

K-- kind of like a G rating for movies. For it to be rated K, it should be completely kid-friendly, without violence, swearing or sex. Here's what the site says: 'Intended for general audience 5 years and older. Content should be free of any coarse language, violence, and adult themes. '

K+ -- kind of like a PG rating for movies. Some mild language or violence can occur. Here's what the site says: 'Suitable for more mature childen, 9 years and older, with minor action violence without serious injury. May contain mild coarse language. Should not contain any adult themes. '

T-- kind of like PG-13 rating for movies. T can include some violence and language and minor adult themes. Here's what the site says: 'Suitable for teens, 13 years and older, with some violence, minor coarse language, and minor suggestive adult themes. '

M-- kind of like R rating for movies. M can contain strong language, violence, and sexual themes. BUT, it can not be extremely explicit. Here's what the site says: 'Not suitable for children or teens below the age of 16 with non-explicit suggestive adult themes, references to some violence, or coarse language. Fiction M can contain adult language, themes and suggestions. Detailed descriptions of physical interaction of sexual or violent nature is considered MA'

MA-- kind of like NC-17 rating for movies. NOTE: fanfiction.net does NOT accept this rating! There are stories on the site which are rated M and include graphic violent or sexual situations, but technically it's not allowed, and the site has been taking a lot of those down. Here's what the site says: 'Content is only suitable for mature adults. May contain explicit language and adult themes. '

  36. QUESTION:
Are women also interested to watch or read Pornography?
I mean like reading a Magazine, or watching a Movie or browsing the internet. My partner sometimes complains of it, but its normal for most men. I'm curious about women's preference, choice or taste when it comes to pornography. If you are interested, what do you normally like to watch? Naked men? Naked couples doing it? Naked women?

    • ANSWER:
I don't think most women obsess over sexual imagery the way that men do. I know that for most men, it's almost a daily ritual! Whereas, most women can survive without seeing a naked body for several weeks. Yes, there are exceptions... just as there are plenty of girls who will flash their boobs in public too... but that's not typical of the average American woman!

I've enjoyed reading porn about supposedly "real" experiences(Penthouse Forum, Nancy Friday's books), and the video porn I've liked to watch is usually real people too (Playboy TV's Amateurs, etc.).

I would enjoy porn more if it had realistic people doing realistic things, and it had a good story. 95% of porn is made for hetero men by predominantly gay men or men that do not understand what women really want (lots of pretty dumb guido types of all ethnic backgrounds, real sleezeballs). The 5% that is made by women supposedly for women always has typical bimbo porn stars in it, and the acting and story lines are abysmal, so I can't really get into it.

I only watch video porn with my husband, and it's generally just something to get us quickly excited and then we switch it off and continue on with full attention to each other.

I really never got into web porn. It's just all really bad and tacky. Seriously, most women don't like the things that they do to women on web porn sites!

TBH, I actually get most excited watching a good and steamy R rated movie with a long and extended sex scene. Sometimes we'll pick movies on our NetFlix list based on the chances that there's a good scene like that in it... a lot of foreign films or artsier indie films deliver on that.

  37. QUESTION:
What's the goriest movie ever that's not a horror movie?
It can't be a horror movie. It can be like thrillers though and action/zombie things you know what I mean

    • ANSWER:
Very interesting question...I have to go with Saving Private Ryan, even after repeated viewings I still find it hard to sit through some of those scenes.

Honorable Mention: Braveheart (I really think people died filming the battle scenes)

We Were Soldiers (I shuttered like hell when that burn victim's skin peeled off)

Kill Bill Parts 1 and 2 (The epic fight scene had to be filmed in black and white for theater audiences to receive an R rating)

Scarface ( The chainsaw in the shower scene was messed up)

Sin City (This movie was very gory but didn't affect me quite as much due to the comic appearance of the violence)

Passion of the Christ (All I have to say is the scene where Jesus is whipped as well as when he is nailed to the cross.)

Apocalypto (Another Mel Gibson film, human sacrifices really suck.)

Total Recall (This film was a lot more violent than I was expecting like when Arnold plunges a metal rod through a scientist's neck)

The Inglorious Basterds (Lots of slitting of throats and that flashback scene with the guy stabbing the other through a pillowcase.)

Both Schindler's List and The Pianist (Okay gory? Debatable, Violent? Yes, chillingly violent. Plenty of heads blown out by guns, cripples being run over by cars, the holocaust was hell.)

  38. QUESTION:
How can I make this thesis better?
I've included the thesis below. My paper is basically a list of examples of movies that have gone through the MPAA and how censorship of movies is a breach on the filmmaker's first amendment rights. Also, if you have any good ideas for a title they would be much appreciated. The best answer gets the points.

    Original Thesis:
The American film ratings system is a form of censorship that makes attempts at preventing the American public from viewing movies the way they were meant to be seen by their creators.

    • ANSWER:
Well, even though I don't necessarily agree with your statement, I can help you strengthen what you are trying to say.

Your argument is (or, seems to be) that the MPAA film rating system is flawed and inhibits audiences from viewing the 'art' of films as the filmmakers intended. I think a stronger or more well-defined statement for your argument is that the judgement of a commission of people (the MPAA ratings board) of a film's content message, language and the images portrayed are only a reflection of what is acceptable to society at a given period in time. Because those standards of acceptable, less acceptable, not acceptable are subjective (according to the tastes of a few people), the public makes incorrect judgements of a film's content before having seen it.

For example, (you might say) a G-rating is based on certain characteristics, many of which would not be the same as a film receiving an R-rating. Moviegoers make their decisions based on these ratings, to see or not to see, which is tantamount to censorship because viewers are not able to make sufficiently informed decisions.

Hope this helps you more specifically define your argument.

Also, a snappy title might be something like, "Censoring the censors" or "Artistic censorship in Film: this essay is rated R for 'read'"

  39. QUESTION:
why do theaters list movie but take tickets at the door?
i know that where i am, there are movie theaters that list the different movies they're showing and have you buy a ticket for said movie... but they take the tick at the door to the building instead of at the doorway to the theater, I know this is to save money for them, but why bother if there people under 17 able to get into r rated movies but buy tickets for a kids movie

    • ANSWER:
Because if theaters can sell tickets for rated-R movies to minors and not be held liable, they will. They make more money that way. However, it's against the law, so if the minor gets caught, they're thrown out, but the actual effort to enforce the rule is small. As long as there isn't an obvious breach of the rules, they will just take the extra money.

  40. QUESTION:
What are good Halloween movies I can watch?
I'm not going to dress up this year as I'm not well but just wanna get sum good Halloween type movies so I can watch on October 31st, I don't mind if they are old or new, any suggestions please

    • ANSWER:
go for a tim burton-thon. Like edward scissor hands, sleepy hollow, etc etc
Honestly I would avoid watching that newer one with johny depp as a vampire, I forget the name, it was not good, it was random and silly and stupid. lol
MY favorite is Ginger Snaps. It might say like 3 stars somewhere but I honestly give it a 4 1/2 at least, I really liked it. Ginger snaps 2 sucks though, as so does the prequel. If you want to go hardcore, watch silence of the lambs. That one my older brother even gets nauseous from watching. It involves a guy peeling skin from women and then wearing them so...if you don't like gore I don't recommend it lol
If you want to go all 90's old fashioned halloween movies, watch goosebumps or Halloween town or Can of Worms etc -disney channel movies- Makes me cry cause now disney channel has shitty stuff on it now and these are the last good ones.
Here is a website for suggestions: http://www.boston.com/ae/movies/gallery/top_50_scary_movies/

If you have a favorite movie that you like and wanna find stuff similar to it, go to tastekid.com and type the name of that movie in the search bar on that site and it'll give you results on movies, books etc that are similar to it. :)
Here another list of movies that are not "scary" http://www.buzzsugar.com/15-Halloween-Movies-Arent-Scary-5875918 but don't watch buffy the vampire slayer movie that's suggested in there, that one sucked if you wanna watch buffy watch the tv show it's sooo much better.
Speaking of shows you can also watch vampire diaries or supernatural, ghost whisperer I think that's what it is called, or medium- which is about a woman who can see the future and stuff and solves crimes but each episode basically begins almost the same exact way and if you watch it continuously like on netflix it becomes repetitive and boring.

Here is another list of movies: http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/sns-halloween-best-scary-movies,0,5252624.photogallery

      HAVE FUN AND HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Edit: There is also true Blood, but that's very...r rated and if you aren't old enough or mature to watch it don't watch it. Lots of nudity and sex, but it is very good except for the recent 2 seasons. Season 1, 2, and 3 are recommended :)

  41. QUESTION:
Does anyone else hate the abundance of technology today?
I am 23 and I can list many reasons:

    1. Lack of face to face communication.

    2. more people are egocentric

    3. Thousands of tv channels, yet only a small number of clean channels (hallmark, classic tv land, espy). there are too many trashy channels (LOGO, comedy central, and so on) that I can't stand. The abundance of watching r rated movies on demand scares me greatly (never was an option before).

    4. more technology means more work to do, especially in college. They think because it is online, it is easy to do.

    5. If one is not keeping up, then they are stupid

    6. All this internet piracy.

    7. Lack of products I want to buy in stores (ataris, intellivisions, n64 games, ps1 games, snes games)

    8. The lack of clean music such as frank sinatra, journey, alphaville, rush, iron maiden, and so on.

    9. Lack of long attention spans.

    10. Morals and Godly values are going down the toilet. With Godly morals thrown out of the window, I can only see movies and music getting more crude and inappropriate.

    11. Lack of appropriate movies that will be remembered decade(s) later. Show me one that compares to dances with wolves, back to the future trilogy, The godfather, goodfellas, or the shawshank redemption. I bet you can't. I know that.

I could go on and on. Do you agree with me? What do you think?

    • ANSWER:
yes I agree completely. First off, if you graduated before your high school bought any computers, and you start college they expect you to have computer skills in order to complete work assignments. Second, people forget how to interact with others when people would rather text. Especially when driving. Third, people don't appreciate books or enjoy writing anymore because everything has gone digital. If all power was lost to everyone in the world, we'd be screwed since everything we rely on requires power.

  42. QUESTION:
How do I prove I'm my brothers' guardian?
I'm 24 and my little brothers are 15 and 16. We went to a rated R movie and the ticket taker still wouldn't sell us the tickets. I've been once a long time ago and the lady asked if I had guardian papers lol Uh I don't have freaking wallet size papers I carry around with me.

    • ANSWER:
Ask to speak with the manager. Bring ANY form of documentation you can that has you listed as the legal guardian. After that, tell the manager that the lady refused to allow you entry. Chances say they'll DEFINATELY remember you after that!

Also, 15 and 16 is not too young to see an R rated movie! Heck, Terminator, Passion of the Christ, and Matrix are R rated movies.

  43. QUESTION:
Should Marijuana be Legalized in the USA?
...if so, what would it's guidelines be,if you were the one drawing up the bill? Age restrictions? Medical use only?.

I'd say "age restricted" -using the Age of ENLISTMENTas the gvmt decides to see fit (-God 18yo is SO YOUNG to be going to War), same as it should be for being allowed to purchase alcohol,or to get into an R rated movie.

    also...
Anti's... I would Love to see a "Bad List" . Can you think of any GoodSide to the Legalization Idea?

Pros.. Give me a "Good List". .. and C'mon you Know there are always downsides to everything .. be honest and state one of them for me, too.

    I'll go first.

i think one DownSide is the Lung Cancer issue,

I think one UpSide would be that , Legalized ,they could openly go about figuring out a way of ingesting it ,so that was a lot more health conscience, without being wasteful.
Please keep in Mind That I said "MARIJUANA", and am not talking about any other drug ,except marijuana,in this question.

    • ANSWER:
Yes, it should be legalized and put under the same controls as alcohol.

It would be a huge tax revenue at a time when we really need the revenue.

Free up large law enforcement resources to go after other narcotics, gangs, etc.

Commercial hemp is a multi-billion dollar industry that our farmers are being kept out of ( China is the worlds top producer of commercial hemp).

We're 15 by the way, but we've snuck into an R rated movie before so Paul's still on the list

  46. QUESTION:
How can companies get away with this?
I'm sixteen going on seventeen and it's hard for me to find a job because I'm not 18.
It's not like dangerous stores, it's dollar general and block buster.
    I just don't get it.
    I don't have an attitude.
I just ask questions because I want to know why.
You're being disrespectful in your assumption of who I am.

    • ANSWER:
Blockbuster can't hire you because of your age. At 16, you aren't old enough for an R-rated or unrated movie. Since they stock those movies and you wouldn't be allowed to handle them, they can't hire you. (I used to run a Wherehouse Music after they spun off from Blockbuster. We had the same restriction but we actually stocked porn.)

Many other stores decline to hire employees younger than 18 because they are often subject to state labor laws which restrict how many hours per week and how late you can work. They have decided that it's just not worth the hassle so they have a minimum hiring age. Or they have had bad experiences in the past and made a blanket restriction.

A lot of stores are just not hiring this year. I've seen several articles about how difficult it is for teens to find summer work. With sales down, the last thing a store wants to do is pick up more employees. Also, a lot of people are looking for part time work (2nd jobs) to keep up with increasing costs. Unfortunately, teens with limited experience will be at the bottom of the hiring list if other applicants are older and have more skills.
If you are looking for summer only, you are even less attractive to employers. When I was a retail manager, I didn't want to hire someone, invest time and resources in that person's training, and then have her quit after 2 months because school started again.

Companies can get away with this because there is no rule that says they have to hire everyone who wants to work there.

  47. QUESTION:
In what states do you have to be 18 to see an R-rated movie?
I know that Tennessee requires you to be 18 even though the MPAA says you need to be 17... are there any other states that require you to be 18 to see an R-rated movie? Thanks

    • ANSWER:
actually, the MPAA is not a federal law. It is a guideline. It just so happens that most theaters choose to go by those guidelines.

"A voluntary system not enforced by law, it is one of various motion picture rating systems used to help parents decide what movies are appropriate for children." MPAA

States can make laws that mandate you be a certain to buy the tickets, but not the federal government. Here's proof,

Tennessee Code 39-17-907, enacted in 1989, states, "...viewing a motion picture designated "R" for restricted audiences, persons under eighteen (18) years of age not admitted unless accompanied by parent or adult guardian..."

To asker: Is there another specific state you are looking for. There isn't a list anywhere, you would need to look up each state individually. I know for a fact you only need to be 17 in Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, and Arizona.

  49. QUESTION:
What are the funniest movies of the 21st century?
In the range of 2000 to 2009. It must be rated PG-13

    • ANSWER:
Yikes the PG-13 rating really cuts out a lot of the funniest ones to be honest with you. But here is my top 5 from 2000 to 2009 that are rated PG-13 or less:

      1. Anchorman (2004)
      2. Talladega Nights (2006)
      3. Fun With Dick and Jane (2005)
      4. Zoolander (2001)
      5. Meet the Parents (2000)

This list would have been different if I could have included R rated titles by the way.
