Streaming Movies On Netflix For March

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
Why do movies dissappear in my netflix instant queue?
I added some movies to my Netflix instant queue to watch but after a little they dropped down into saved instant queue and now online it says I have until March 18, 2011 to watch another movie in my queue. Why does Netflix take down streaming movies and turn them into DVD only?

    • ANSWER:
I often wondered that myself. I am assuming it is because they rotate their selections every so often or it could also be that the movie is not watched that often, and they remove it so they can make room for more demanded ones.

I have noticed that the more popular stuff stays available a lot longer.

  2. QUESTION:
How often does netflix and lovefilm update their films?
Lets say a film came out on the 20th of January 2013, when would it be able to be streamed on both:
    A)Netflix
    B)LoveFilm
Also which one is better in your opinion and give reasons if you want. Ya know, you don't have to but it would be much appreciated!
    Thanks :)

    • ANSWER:
This cannot be answered as it is different case by case.

Some film studios refuse to offer their films for streaming at all.
Some films refuse to offer their films to be streamed on Netflix some refuse to allow LoveFilm to stream their movies. Some studios don't allow either platforms to stream their content and only allow other platforms such as iTunes, Amazon Instant Watch or their own content provider such as HBO.

So to find out when a new film will make its way to Netflix or Lovefilm one would have to know what studio owns the film and if they have a deal with either provider.

But for instance take a small film like "Jeff Who Lives at Home" it was released 16 March 2012 and showed up for streaming in Jan. 2013 so that is roughly 10 months. "One For the Money" was released Jan 2012 and showed up Jan. 2013 so that is roughly 12 months. A really small film "Sleepwalk With Me" was released August 2012 and again Jan. 2013 it was being streamed so roughly 8 months.

So you might say a year for bigger studio films and 8 months to 10 for smaller indie films.

As to which is better? I cannot say with any true degree of accuracy (due to the fact that Lovefilm is not available in the US) but here is an article comparing the 2. It is from November of 2012 so it should be up to date.

  4. QUESTION:
Is there a way to get cable tv through the internet to watch on tv?
I understand that may sound confusing. Basically am looking for a way to save money by cutting out the channels I pay for but don't watch. I figure technology has to be advanced enough for me to be able to buy some box to sit on my HDTV with a Ethernet plug in the back and an HDMI plug into my HDTV. Is is out there? What are its benefits? What are its negatives?

    • ANSWER:
I have done this to great effect. I watched the March Madness series in college basketball on my computer. I was so happy I could do this without a cable bill. I have only internet and a landline, that's it. It is better to pay as you go, ala cart. Their are a lot of ways to go about this. The way I have chosen, is by way of Appletv, the latest Mac OS version of snow leopard, increasing the RAM capabilities of my computer and getting a wireless keyboard and mouse. Apple works, absolutely no compatibility problems, AppleTV through iTunes has options that will allow a person to pick and choose tv shows, documentaries, music and movies. They also have free pod casts like the evening news from every channel, just to name a few. The other item will soon be the Nintendo Wii, will stream Netflix for .00 a month. Combined with this option and AppleTV, allowing the option for paid content or not. Netflix is a mere .00 for the unlimited plan, not to mention browsing and getting on sites like CBS Sports on Demand, History Channel, Discovery Channel, UTube, ESPN360 and HULU. All entertainment and educational venues that don't have to cost much if any money. As long as your computer is in great woking order. Its all good.

      Best.

  5. QUESTION:
is there a cancellation fee when cancelling netflix?
im on streaming plan and will be charged again on march 4...im planning to cancel now..will i be charged any cancellation fee?

    reason is movies are old.

    thanks

    • ANSWER:
      No there is not.

  6. QUESTION:
How long does it take for netflix to have newly released movies?
I'm thinking about getting netflix, and say if i wanted to get "The Perks of Being a Wallflower", how long would it be until they have it?

    • ANSWER:
If you mean getting the movie on DVD then it depends on the studio that produced the movie. Warner Brothers makes Netflix wait 56 days after DVD release before it can rent DVDs while the others have a 28-day wait period.

If you mean streaming the movie via the internet, then it depends on if Netflix has an output arrangement with the studio. If they do, then you can expect to see a movie appear on the streaming service between 6 and 9 months after the DVD release date in the US, in most cases.

If Netflix doesn't have an output deal with the studio, then you could wait up to 10 years for the movie to appear on Netflix.

The "Perks of Being a Wallflower" is produced by Summit Entertainment, so the DVD will be available for rent 28 days after the DVD release date. The DVD release date was February 12, 2013, so Netflix should have the DVD available around March 12, 2013. However, HBO has the TV/streaming output deal with Summit and HBO typically demands exclusivity for 8 to 10 years so this movie is unlikely to be steaming on Netflix USA anytime soon.

  7. QUESTION:

  8. QUESTION:
Why don't my movies show up in my instant queue?
How come whenever I come to an option of adding my movies to my instant queue AND I PUT THEM IN MY INSTANT QUEUE they are never in my queue? Same with movies that I just put in a couple days ago

    • ANSWER:
Are you talking about Netflix ?
When you choose movies for your queue you are asked to click on them to add to your queue. If you are talking about live streaming MANY MANY MANY titles are not available. If there is anything newer than 2 years old it won't show up for instant viewing...but it will show up for DVDs mailed to your house. Mailed DVDs are much newer releases than the old movies on streaming. Always check to see if the movie you added is available on one service or the other. You are probably trying to add movies that aren't available on streaming but are available (tho they may not even be released yet) for DVDS. For instance you can get HUNGER GAMES in your DVD queue-even tho it isn't released for 5 months on March 12 2012. That movie will not show up in live streaming for about 3 years.

  9. QUESTION:
Netflix free trial expired but i can still stream?
I have just had the netflix free trial which expired on the 3rd of march 2013 (i canceled the renewal subscription through itunes about 1 week before) However when i went on Netflix to see if it had be canceled after the 3rd of march i was still able to stream movies.

On the itunes subscription page it says it has expired but i can still stream. Im not sure if i have been charged for another month.

I use apple tv and ps3 to stream.

    • ANSWER:
You don't need to stream off of Netflix, and there are a variety of other great websites that have many applications for streaming movies and there are many advantages to not using netflix especially because they may be free. However, if you can still stream for free of Netflix why not?

  10. QUESTION:
Ive noticed on my netflix instant queue that alot of movies are only there till Feburay 29th or march 1st?

    • ANSWER:
That is because licensing agreements dictate how long a title is available to stream. Checkout http://instantwatcher.com. They have the expiration date for every title on Netflix service. Then you can prioritize your viewing.

  12. QUESTION:
    What is up with Netflix?
I just got a Netflix account and there are no movies or TV shows that I want. I can't even find Avatar or the Avengers or Ice Age. It seems very strange because I thought they had so many movies. Can someone help me out?

    • ANSWER:
Netflix was not given the rights to offer "Avatar" for streaming. In fact Mike Dunn the CEO of Fox (who own "Avatar") said that as long as he is alive he will not allow "Avatar" to ever be available for streaming. Fox is pretty strict about which movies they offer Netflix. Fox does not allow a lot of their bigger selling movies to be streamed. Guess which studio owns "Ice Age"?

Top tier movies such as "Avengers" usually take 9 to 12 months to be available for streaming so it should be around March - May 2013. Remember Netflix wants to offer every movie up for streaming but it is the studios that place restrictions on when a film is allowed to be streamed.

  13. QUESTION:
when is netflix coming to the ANDROID XOOM TABLET?

    • ANSWER:
Official answer from Netflix (and Hulu incidentally) about Android release date is "soon"... They're requiring Android devices to have built in "DRM" (to prevent you from "pirating the movies" you're watching).
All new Qualcomm chips are supposed to have the DRM requirements of the studios so they can have Netflix... the LG Revolution was demoed running Netflix at CES and is supposed to launch the end of March or sometime in April.

On Netflix's site, there's a comment that makes it sound like all Tegra based Androids will be allowed to have Netflix too: "Netflix is using the Tegra 2 development platform to bring the Netflix experience to Android super phones and tablets. We’re working closely with NVIDIA to ensure Netflix takes full advantage of Tegra’s outstanding acceleration and security capabilities." — Greg Peters, Vice President, Product Development at Netflix

I'll also give you a wonderful related comment that I ran across earlier that I echo the sentiment of:
"Neither the iPhone(3|3GS|4) nor iPad(1|2) have hardware encryption. Those platforms have been rooted and exploited time and time again, and thus are not impenetrable platforms. And of course Hulu (Plus) and Netflix run on desktops that have been exploited time and time again.

There are a number of exploits to recover Netflix and Hulu (Plus) streams on a variety of platforms. The hesitancy of those products to go to Android because of the DRM is obnoxious, really, because it goes against all common sense -- the horses have long since bolted, so it's a bit ridiculous to make a big deal about the gate in the corner."

  14. QUESTION:
so should i get a samsung galaxy tab plus or a kindle fire?
is the samsung worth the extra 150

    • ANSWER:
Hi Tim Coon, Galaxy is definitely much better than Kindle Fire, no questions about it - however it is much more expensive as you noted yourself. Very often reported problems with Kindle Fire are that it runs hot to touch, video playback is jerky, touch screen is not responsive and it takes 2-3 touches to register, power button placement is very poor and is prone to accidental power off, all the hype of Silk browser is not true where the browsing is actually slower than on other Android tablets, Wi-Fi connection gives a lot of trouble to users on it, etc.

Take a look at Nook Tablet as according to pro reviews on the web is a class above Kindle Fire in terms of hardware and performance. Per reviews out there, Nook has a much better screen and a much better/smoother performance while playing movies than choppy Kindle Fire's act. It has double the RAM and is much zippier than Fire in both booting times and loading apps. It has microSD slot (not on Kindle) for more content space (and you can have more than one card) and rooting without voiding the warranty. Also, Nook Tablet has physical volume controls on the side (not on Kindle) and built-in microphone (not on Kindle) for Skype. Nook Tablet has to offer the same things that Kindle has and more - It's got Netflix, Hulu, Pandora, Angry Brids etc., the best battery life (30% better than Fire), the best non-glare laminated screen (no lamination on Fire), double the RAM and space for apps/photos/movies than on Fire. Amazon Prime is worthless - 13,000 movies and 10,000 books are included while Netflix has millions of movies and B&N ebook store has more content than Amazon's with 2.5 million paid books and 2 million free public domain ones. Also it's worth mentioning that if you walk in with any Nook to Barnes & Noble store, you'll get tech support and you’re allowed to read ANY available eBook for free while in the store via free provided in the store Wi-Fi.

Also, if you're interested in digital newspapers or magazines there is a great current promotion announced in the news - until March, anyone who buys a one-year Nook subscription to the New York Times newspaper will receive either the Nook Simple Touch e-reader for [FAQ-ANSWER] or the Nook Color e-reader for . The price of the Nook Tablet will be cut by to 9 for those who buy it with a Nook subscription to People magazine.

Here's one pro review on the subject:
      ENGADGET
Both devices rock 1GHz dual-core processors, but the Nook has an edge here, with its 1GB of RAM to the Fire's 512MB -- and certainly the difference is noticeable, even when booting up something as simple as a game like Angry Birds. Things are even more pronounced during video playback. We took Shutter Island for a spin via Netflix streaming on both devices, and it was really like night and day. Motion is far less choppy on the Barnes & Noble device. The HD playback on the Nook also picked up subtle imagery like patterns on ties, which were largely lost on the Fire

Also you might want to reconsider buying from Amazon at all if you learn about the working conditions they create at their warehouses (see link below).

  15. QUESTION:
    Ipad, nook, kindle fire tablets....help!?
I am looking to get a tablet but need ppls opinions on which one is the best....I want it for web browsing, movies, music, email etc. I will point out that I know about the ipad but simply can't afford that much. I looked into the kindle fire, and the nook tablet but just don't know. Any help would be appreciated.

    • ANSWER:
Hi melody, first of all you need to know about a great current promotion announced in the news - until March, anyone who buys a one-year Nook subscription to the New York Times newspaper will receive either the Nook Simple Touch e-reader for [FAQ-ANSWER] or the Nook Color e-reader for . The price of the Nook Tablet will be cut by to 9 for those who buy it with a Nook subscription to People magazine.

Having that out of the way, although a lot of Amazon trolls like George Y and Rose D here post untruth about the "great" Kindle I'll try to help you to make sense out of it all. Kindle Fire has neither camera nor microphone thus no Skype calls possible on it. Also, reported issues with Kindle Fire are that it runs hot to touch, video playback is jerky, touch screen is not responsive and it takes 2-3 touches to register, power button placement is very poor and is prone to accidental power off, all the hype of Silk browser is not true where the browsing is actually slower than on other Android tablets, Wi-Fi connection gives a lot of trouble to users on it, etc. Amazon's own web site has hundreds of reviews (close to 2000 already) of Kindle Fire's new owners that gave it 1 or 2 star reviews and over 1,000 of 3-star reviews because of choppy/laggy experience they got from this underpowered device.

Instead, take a look at recently released Nook Tablet - it's been getting rave reviews and it is the best device in it's class - much better than Kindle Fire. It's got Netflix, Hulu, Pandora, Angry Brids, etc., the best battery life (30% better than Fire), the best non-glare laminated screen (vs. very reflective not-laminated Fire screen), double the RAM and space for apps/photos/movies, microSD slot, a microphone for Skype, and physical volume controls on the side (neither of those on Kindle Fire), very smooth video playback with excellent screen, and very fast apps load.

Check out a couple of pro reviews on the subject:
      CNET:
We streamed Netflix side by side with the Kindle Fire, and head-to-head comparisons were very favorable to the Nook--it simply looked better.
      PCWORLD:
The Nook Tablet's unique display has less reflectivity than the Kindle Fire's, and so is easier to read. The IPS display is laminated and bonded; so unlike on other tablets's displays--including the Kindle Fire's--there's no annoying, visible air gap between the glass screen and the LCD beneath. The Nook Tablet's home screen is highly customizable and provides quick access to apps and reading material.

  16. QUESTION:
new movies on roku netflix player???
do new movies ever get put on the watch instantly section of netflix....and how many movies are put on every month????

    • ANSWER:
Supposedly, they are still in a "soft startup mode"

It costs Netflix a ton of money to be able to stream a new release, so there's only 2 movies from their top 100 available instantly (March of the Penguins, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.)

Their new releases for instant viewing have been getting better, but still need alot of work. I've seen an average of 5 a week added, most are either old or pretty unpopular.

In my opinion still absolutely worth it. Plenty of cult classics, Indies films and TV series to watch for hours. I'm downgrading my crappy Cable service since I spend all my time watching the Roku player.

Here's a site that's very cool for Roku player fans:

      http://www.thenowhereman.com/netflix/

  17. QUESTION:
Does Les Miserables (2000 version) have singing?
On streaming netflix there is a movie that is so called Les Miserables. I was wondering if this had singing in it.

    • ANSWER:
No, but the 2012 movie comes out on dvd march 22nd (I think) so just wait for that. It's brilliant.

  18. QUESTION:
where can you watch free movies?

    • ANSWER:
Check out Movies2K.com I just got on there about a week ago and have watched a lot of movies on there for free. I hook my laptop to my TV and stream movies easily. Look for a Smiley face and a movie available in 2K stream and it will stream to your computer almost as fast as netflix.I have watched movies on there that aren't even out on Red box yet. Good movies to. A few movies on there I've watched are
      The Descendants
      Contagion
      Moneyball
      Drive
      Faster
Rise of the Planet of the Apes
      Ides of March

I have saved a lot of time and money in the past week.

  19. QUESTION:
Which uses more bandwidth - Skype Video Calls or Netflix on Wii?
Today we received a letter from our ISP (Blue Ridge Communications/Penn Tele Data) saying that we used excessive amounts of bandwidth for the month of April (59.06 down/19.42 up) during the peak hours (5pm-1am). We have never gotten a letter like this before, and the only thing we can conclude as to why this is happening is because of my sister's new found usage of Netflix on her Wii and my doing many, many video calls on Skype. Now I have done the same amount of Skype calling in the month of March and we never got this letter, however this is the first month my sister has been using the Wii to watch her Netflix movies. I was wondering which uses more bandwidth? Or is it pretty much equal? Thanks for any type of help! Also if you can think of any ISPs to request that have no cap and is cheap in the Northeast Pennsylvania area where we get very limited choices on who we get our internet from, that would be very much appreciated!

    • ANSWER:
Man they have a cap on your bandwidth? I'd read the fine print and if there is no cap, I'd tell them to shove it. They typically monitor bandwidth to catch "pirates" who p2p and then they bottleneck the crap out of them. I had it happen with Cox-suckers. Tell them you stream netflix online 24/7.

  20. QUESTION:
    Which game system is better?
PS 3 or Xbox 360 with kinect??
Could you give me some details about each of them? Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
The PlayStation 3 is the third home video game console produced by Sony Computer Entertainment and the successor to the PlayStation 2 as part of the PlayStation series. The PlayStation 3 competes with Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Nintendo's Wii as part of the seventh generation of video game consoles.
A major feature that distinguishes the PlayStation 3 from its predecessors is its unified online gaming service, the PlayStation Network, which contrasts with Sony's former policy of relying on video game developers for online play. Other major features of the console include its robust multimedia capabilities, connectivity with the PlayStation Portable, and its use of the Blu-ray Disc as its primary storage medium. The PS3 was also the first Blu-ray 2.0-compliant Blu-ray player on the market.
The PlayStation 3 was first released on November 11, 2006 in Japan, November 17, 2006 in North America, March 16, 2007 in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and March 23, 2007 in mainland Europe and Oceania. Two stock-keeping units were available at launch: a basic model with a 20 GB hard disk drive (which was not released in Europe or Oceania) and a premium model with a 60 GB hard drive and several additional features. Since then several revisions have been made to the console's available models, most notably with the release of a new slim model in September 2009 to coincide with rebranding of the console and its logo.

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_3

The Xbox 360 is the second video game console produced by Microsoft, and the successor to the Xbox. The Xbox 360 competes with Sony's PlayStation 3 and Nintendo's Wii as part of the seventh generation of video game consoles. As of January 2011, there are over 50 million Xbox 360 consoles worldwide.
The Xbox 360 was officially unveiled on MTV on May 12, 2005, with detailed launch and game information divulged later that month at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). The console sold out completely upon release in all regions except in Japan.
Some major features of the Xbox 360 are its integrated Xbox Live service that allows players to compete online, download arcade games, game demos, trailers, TV shows, music and movies and its Windows Media Center multimedia capabilities. The Xbox 360 also offers region specific access to third-party media streaming services such as Netflix and ESPN in the US or Sky Player in the UK.

Kinect for Xbox 360, or simply Kinect (originally known by the code name Project Natal), is a "controller-free gaming and entertainment experience" by Microsoft for the Xbox 360 video game platform. Based around a webcam-style add-on peripheral for the Xbox 360 console, it enables users to control and interact with the Xbox 360 without the need to touch a game controller, through a natural user interface using gestures and spoken commands. The project is aimed at broadening the Xbox 360's audience beyond its typical gamer base. Kinect competes with the Wii Remote Plus and PlayStation Move and PlayStation Eye motion control systems for the Wii and PlayStation 3 home consoles, respectively.
Kinect was launched in North America on November 4, 2010, in Europe on November 10, 2010, in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore on November 18, 2010 and in Japan on November 20, 2010. Purchase options for the sensor peripheral include a bundle with the game Kinect Adventures and console bundles with either a 4 GB or 250 GB Xbox 360 console and Kinect Adventures.
Kinect holds the Guinness World Record of being the "Fastest selling consumer electronics device". It sold an average of 133,333 units per day with a total of 8 million units in its first 60 days. 10 million units of the Kinect sensor have been shipped as of March 9, 2011.

  21. QUESTION:
Is anyone getting tired of people saying blu ray and optical media will cease to exist?
Netflix streaming has like 3% or less of movies I want to see and 40% or less of TV shows I need disc rental for those movies I'm not paying -5 for every movie I rent it'd be like -100 a month depending on tv show rentals if I did away with my blu ray player and Netflix will never have the other 97% of disc rental I'm looking for movie studios will not allow it.

What on earth are people talking about then? Why is disc rental going away?
Actually Netflix probably has 50-60%+ of TV shows I want to see.
Error don't misunderstand I love Netflix streaming I use it every day but 97% of movies I want to see aren't on streaming only TV shows are.
Error don't misunderstand I love Netflix streaming I use it every day but 97% of movies I want to see aren't on streaming only TV shows are.

    • ANSWER:
Certainly no pun intended, if you live long enough this will not be the first nor the last. The whole scenario is about herding shoppers like sheep to something different and new so they can make money. What you and I have to do is make our own decisions and let them go on. I do it all the time. I keep up with technology but I march to my own drum beat that usually is in step with my wallet.

      Best.

  22. QUESTION:
Should I get Animal Crossing for the DS or 3DS?
I was thinking of buying a 3DS just to get the new upcoming Animal Crossing game (maybe even Super Mario 3D) but it's too expensive and it doesn't release until spring or mid-March... I already own a DSi and was thinking of just buying Animal Crossing for the regular DS (even though I played it in the past because of my sister owning it on the R4 card, but it has been erased :( )

So should I get a 3DS and wait for the new Animal Crossing to come out, or should I stick with my DSi and buy the old game?

    • ANSWER:
Trade in your DSi for the 3DS and pay the difference.

So You can get the 3DS Super Mario 3D Land Bundle for 0 (it's gonna be the Red 3DS in the American Bundle).

Because you can play music (even with the system close).

You can LOWER the VOLUME of 3D so it does NOT give you headaches for the first time in your life (if you're the kind of person to ever get headaches from 3D, otherwise just turn the 3D all the way up).

And you can also turn the 3D OFF Completely.

And 3D is good for working out your eye muscles & brain to keep them in shape as shown in this link:

      http://www.aoa.org/x17309.xml

And the Nintendo 3DS has downloadable 3D Music videos from today's American music artist which I have already downloaded the 3 free 3D Music Videos to watch anywhere and the 3DS has 3D "Blue Man Group" video and College Humor (in 3D) with the FREE "Nintendo Video" App that you can download (but its 4 3D Videos at a time and they replace them once in a while) and you can download cheap downloadable 3D Apps & 3D games costing from 99 cents to .99 and the Nintendo 3DS also has FREE downloadable 3D Apps & 3D Games, which I have already downloaded 3 Free 3D Apps and I have downloaded 2 Free 3D Games and the 3DS has a 3D Camera and I have already used the 3DS 3D Camera to take 3D photos and I have uploaded some of my 3D footage online using the Nintendo 3DS's Web Browser to upload my 3D footage online and I have used my 3DS Web Browser to also download other peoples 3D footage from the Internet on my 3DS Web Browser and I have view all sorts of 3D content on 3D Websites online on my 3DS's Web Browser and I have use my 3DS 3D Camera to play 3D Augmented Reality games as well and it's all in 3D without the Glasses using the 3DS 3D Camera and It has beautiful 3D HD graphics that equal to that of a 3D HD version of Wii Graphics and I have Streamed 3D Videos Online on my 3DS in the eShop and I have also Watch 3D Trailers for upcoming 3D movies coming to Theaters in 3D and I have done all of this in 3D Without the Glasses.

So you can pay 9 for a Nintendo 3DS and buy the greatest Games ever & all in 3D Without the Glasses like Petz Fantasy 3D and Cooking Mama 4 and Nintendogs + cats and Zoo Resort and Cave Story 3D and Kid Icarus and Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 using the MOTION SENSORS to play the game like if you were turning a real steering wheel to turn the Kart left & right and also play such other 8 GB 3D Games like TheatRhytem Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts 3D and Crush 3D and Shinobi and Animal Crossing and Rodea the Sky Soldier and Michael Jackson: the Experience 3D and Ridge Racer 3D and Super Street Fighter 4 3D and Monster Hunter 4 and Golden Sun 4 and Star Fox 3D and Zelda 3D and Sonic Generations 3D and Tetris 3D and Resident Evil: Revelations and Tekken 3D which also has the 3D Movie Tekken the Movie 3D in it to watch and also play other 8 GB 3D HD games as Spider Man 3D and 100% of the 3DS games are in HD 3D Without the Glasses.

And the 3DS pixel density is MUCH sharper than an average HD TV.

And they're making Angry Birds 3D as a downloadable game.

And the 3DS has DLC (Downloadable Content) like Xbox Live for a bunch of 3DS games to add content to the game later on for Free.

And 1 of the Free 3D Apps I have downloaded was Netflix.

And Netflix is getting 3D Movies in the next few months, so for 9 you can watch 3D movies on the free Netflix App on the 3DS in 3D Without the Glasses.

And 100% of the people who have said that they get headaches from 3D, have said that after up to 1 to 2 weeks of using the 3DS they NO LONGER get headaches anymore and that they now play with the 3D all the way up 100% all the time, non-stop.

But I have never had any problem with the 3D at all, but each person has a different experience with the 3D ON during the first week.

And you can now pay to download 3D & 2D Videos on the 3DS.

And the 3DS is getting Hulu Plus before the end of this year (2011) as a Free downloadable App and Hulu already has 3D Content.

  24. QUESTION:
Why do you think blockbuster is going out in your opinion?
Blockbuster is hitting rock bottom hard. Their stocks have dropped down to 0.400 cents per share, and keeps dropping. I personally had some good experiences with blockbuster but more bad than good. In my opinion Blockbuster never got on with the game, especially knowing that online renting was becoming a big hit. That was their one mistake, their second would be customer satisfaction. I have never seen blockbuster busy on a Friday night. On the other hand see a line of 20 people waiting to use the Redbox. That tells me something, that people would rather wait half an hour, for a movie than go to Blockbuster, and be out of there in 2 minutes. I don't recall them doing anything to bring the customer back again, but rather did things to draw them away. For example when they advertised no more late fees, that was a huge + for them and in fact brought customers back. Then they start twisting everything up, and now are pushing their customers way back. They changed their policy back to late fees, and doing all sorts of wrong things. I was just recently charged in March .17 for a game that I rented back in December. I know I will not be going back, and I am sure their are many customers alike. So how in the world are they planning to even stay open? I feel sorry for all their employees who make a fair living, working minimum wage.
    What do you think?

    • ANSWER:
Competition is killing them. You mention redbox but there is also Netflix.

The internet is also competition. Netflix streaming downloads is making progress too. Amazon also has streaming downloads. Then there is Hulu which allow users to watch past TV episodes. In addition there is services like Vudu, Moxi and Tivo.

Based on the above, for me, there are 3 main reasons 1) Competion 2) Internet 3) Much wider user choice.

  25. QUESTION:

    • ANSWER:
The 3DS is 100% worth it.

Also, the screen is perfectly fine, in terms of resolution. Anyway, it’s the pixel density that matters, not the actual number of pixels. The 3DS pixel density is MUCH sharper than an average HD TV of, for example, 32 inches. It’s perfectly fine. Not everything has to be 1080p you know. Since 1080p at 32 inches is worse than just 240p on the 3DS.

  26. QUESTION:
    PS3 VS XBOX 360 ????????????
    what is better

    ps3 or xbox 360

i dont know which one to get??/

    • ANSWER:
Holy Smokes, fourth time I'm answering this question. Haha.
      Well here you go:

      http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AoxSwIRoQ9yovGRJ59ewdIPsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090828021122AASwXnT&show=7#profile-info-D8a0X3oAaa

This is my answer to the first time I answered this question (linked to prove I'm not taking someone elses answer). It is long, but short answer is just "I would go with a PS3."

      Long Answer:
      1. Which one is better based on price and graphics? Which one is the best bang for my buck?

This can go two ways, unfortunetly it wont help you that much. Both consoles are now priced at i think 9. With another Xbox 360 SKU at 9 (these are American prices, i don't know about other countries but for AUS, the PS3 slim is 0 and the Xbox's at 0 and 9).
The PS3 comes in two different models, the 120 gig slim and the 80 gig fat model. If you plan on just keeping your console in one place and not moving it around a lot then I would go with the 80 gig. The 80 gig comes with more inbuilt features that the Slim is lacking, the only good thing about the slim is the larger hard drive and the smaller shape. NOTE!: The harddrive is not an issue for PS3 owners, you can go buy a laptop harddrive for cheap and just swap it (the manual even shows how to do this, it is legal!).
The Xbox 360 also comes in two different models, as well as the much older Arcade model which is a complete rip off and should probably be avoided, unless you have heaps of money to spare - as Microsoft sells harddrives at an expensive price! The Elite model comes with more features so if you do plan on getting an Xbox 360 then that is probably the way to go.
Graphically, both the PS3 and the 360 are at the same spot. It's kind of like a take it in turn race between the consoles, as at one point one console will have the better graphics then at the next point the other will, and this continues along. At the moment the PS3 has the better looking games coming out, such as Killzone 2 earlier this year, and with Uncharted 2 coming out later this year, along with Gran Tursimo 5. With God of War 3 in March next year. The 360, previously, has had Gears of War 1 and 2, and at the moment that is the only two i can think of - but those two are the more graphically stunning looking games on the 360!
Consoles now a days have the ability to do more than just play games, the PS3 lets you cheaply swap out your hard drives for larger ones, therefore letting you store more music, videos and photos. The 80 GIG console lets you also install linux onto it as well! YellowDog Linux for the PS3 is the more popular ones. The console also comes with other features which are region specific, for example you can stream HD movies in America i think, and you can stream Music videos in Australia. It also comes with an in-built web browser and the ability to attach a keyboard and mouse when using that said browser. Last but not least, the ability to play Blu-ray movies, and is still considered one of the best Blu-ray players in the market!
The Xbox 360 lets you go on MSN, lets you use facebook, twitter and if i remember properly another major social network as well, i think. They also have netflix, Microsofts answer to Blu-ray.

Question 2. Which one is most popular?
The more popular console would be the Xbox 360, it has had better sales and the online community is larger! This doesn't mean that the online community for PS3 is smaller, just not as large.

When you are considering which console to buy you should also look at other stuff as well then what you have listed. Remember to take into mind prices other than the initial one. Such as future controller purchases, if you have a HD TV - you should get an HDMI cord, for either console. Remember that officially Microsoft sells Hard drives for very high prices, though you can probably get it for cheaper at ONLINE stores and such. Remember that you have to PAY to PLAY online for the 360, i think around each year in US and around in AUS.

With everything i have said, i believe that the PS3 is better, not because I like the games on the console but because it offers a lot more than just the games. It has a larger value! And if you think about how Sony is losing money on each console sold than actually gaining you can see that what i just said is slightly true. Also remember that game preference is each person choice, and that what people say here about how great one game is, shouldnt be taken into consideration untill you have played it yourself. Also think about the hardware of the consoles, specifically the failures! The PS3 has i think less than 2% hardware failures, that is probably the max i have ever heard it had. The 360 has had hardware failures up to such number as 30% and even recently 54%! This is due to RROD, and even though it might not happen to you and i think you also get a FREE THREE YEAR WARRENTLY for RROD you should wonder if it is worth it, what happens after those 3 years for example.

As you can see the intial question was split into two main questions, which is what I answered.
Hopefully this helps, and I'm sorry for a very long answer.

Good Luck and Happy Gaming. =)

    Xbox 360 or Playstation 3?
I would like a 360 but I heard there are alot more perks with the PS3. Is this true? Please help me out. Please no fanboy comments, no Xbox is better or Playstation is better, please back up your ideas cause I would like 2 no all the details, ty.
I have a PSP and I've heard that you can connect the PSP and the PS3 with remote play. What exactly is remote play and is it that big a deal? ty
PS3 doesn't have a removible hard-drive, that's what I like about the 360, but is that a big deal? Also, I don't no if this makes a difference, but my friends have 360's and I'd like 2 play with them. Just throwing it out there, I don't no if it changes the overall outcome.

    • ANSWER:
      I'll break it down;

      360:
DVD format games, play's DVD movies.
Some backward's compatibility with XBox games, needs hard drive
720p HD thru Component, or 1080p thru HDMI on newer consoles
Can have 0/60/120GB Hardrives, upgradeable to a max of 120GB
Wireless controllers, will need Plug n Play pack or lot's of batteries
£40 a year 'Gold' account for on-line multi-player gaming and other features(like Netflix streaming early demo access)
      Free for basic 'Silver' access
Can stream movies and music off a PC.
      Has 'Avatars'
      Matt White/Creme case
      Halo/Gears/Fable/left4Dead

      PS3:
Blu-Ray format games, can play Blu-Ray moveis, up-scale DVD's to HD over HDMI.
      Some PS3's have backward's compatibility with PS2 games(4 USB port PS3's) All Ps3's paly PS1 games
1080p thru HDMI on all PS3 consoles
Come's in 80/160GB flavours(20/40/60/80GB have been phased out) upgradeable to current max of 500GB.(Uses majority of laptop compatible hard drives)
Wireless motion-controllers, includes rechargeable battery and cable in box
      Free on-line access and multi-player
Can stream movies and music off PC
      Has built in Wi-Fi
      Web browser
      Has PS Home
      Gloss Piano Black Finish
      Metal Gear Solid/Gran Turismo/Uncharted/LittleBigPlanet/FFVerusXIII etc.

SO for £60 more then the 360 'Elite' the PS3 does have alot more features, though games should also be a deciding factor, for me the combo of great features and games i wanted ( Gran Turismo , FFXIII, LBP, Blu-Ray movies) led me to getting a PS3. It cost's more, but its worth it, though it could maybe do with a price drop(one may be coming in March)

      Both have:
      Fallout 3/GTA/FFXIII/Dead Space/Mirrors Edge/Oblivion/Bioshock/Usual sport's games '08/etc etc. too bad '09 line-up seems to die after February, credit-crunch n all.

Remote Play can turn your PSP into a secondary screen over the PS3 Wi-Fi/Internet. A mate had me fooled for a few seconds showing me 'Uncharted: Portable'; One of it's basic features is that it can copy whatever your PS3 is doing to your PSP, and you can control the PS3 with the PSP buttons. You can also get games for your PSP off the PS Store on the PSP. You can also access videos, pictrues an music stored on your PS3 too. so if your in a Wi-Fi hotspot then it could come in handy, but it will probably be quiet laggy, Ive only ever seen it used over hoem Wi-Fi.

PS3 does have a removable hardrive. it's in a caddy, theres a flap on the side n you pop it out. you can replace it with a normal laptop harddrive, so theres cheaper to replace than the 360 only HDD's.
my mate's had 360's as well, made a change for us to have a PS3 to play on as well, bear in mind it'll cost you £40 a year to play with your mate's on-line, or for free you can go round to their house n play split-screen.

  28. QUESTION:
Sony PlayStation3 or Microsoft Xbox 360?
Hello everybody. I am a teenager who loves to play video games. Mostly Hardcore games. 2 years ago i bought a Nintendo Wii and I am still not pleased with it. I hardly ever play games as i use to with my PS2. My birthday is coming up this October and I want a different console. Now, i heard of major price cuts for the 360 and PS3. And, i want to know based on price and graphics. Which one is the best bang for my buck? Which has the best games? And, Which one is the most popular? It would be nice if you could please answer this for me. Thanks!

P.S. Which GB Version is worth it?

    • ANSWER:
      Answer to different questions...

Sorry for very long answer, and good luck choosing.

SHORT ANSWER: Go with 80 gig PS3, its worth a lot more than priced!

  29. QUESTION:
Taking notes in-class on a Kindle Fire?
I'm looking into the possibility of using a Kindle Fire to take my notes in my college classes this semester. I own a big, clunky, expensive laptop that I am not willing to take to all my classes and take notes on. I'm looking at the Kindle Fire since it has a good price (200$), it is portable, it is light-weight, will run all day on battery power, gets internet like my laptop would, and I can also enjoy it for other things when I'm not using it for college.

Now, I already am aware of the fact that the screen is smaller than a computer screen, it has no support for an external keyboard, and relies on a touch screen keyboard. I plan to use the touch keyboard for my note-taking purposes.

I'm not looking for flamers to tell me that this is a completely bad idea, especially if they have never considered, tried, or attempted to use their Kindle Fire in this way.

    Bottomline:
I am curious if the Kindle Fire, when used in landscape mode (held or placed down horizontally), is able to take quick enough notes for a college course. I know about Evernote, Quickoffice, and other note-taking apps and am curious also if one of these kinds of apps are adequate for taking notes in-class too?

    Thanks and much appreciated.
@ TheTruth, lol is B&N paying you to bend the truth and help support the nook or something? The info you give is very misleading and false. Almost 6,000 people have given Kindle Fire 5 stars and about 1,000 have given it a 1 star (not 2,000 as you say). My question had nothing to do with the capabilities of either Nook nor the Fire's shortcomings. The source website you left is stupid and unrelated lol. 0/10 trolling attempt, friend.

@ George Y, You have no idea what you're talking about and left a trash comment.

@ ;D, I appreciate your response. I use an Ipod Touch already and found that I can type pretty quickly on it with 2 fingers and make minimal mistakes. I'd use the Ipod for notes if it were able to support 2 handed typing... which is part of what I'm curious about for the Kindle Fire - if it can do this?

    • ANSWER:
Hey Asahinahawk, first of all Kindle Fire will not last you all day as the battery is pretty weak and the most you'll get from it (especially if using Cloud or simply browsing the web over Wi-Fi) is 4-5 hours. Typing on any touch screen is usually for people with nerves of steel and I wouldn't plan on being able to do it for long. Also, I have to warn you about Kindle Fire problems if you haven't heard yourself already - no mater what all Amazon trolls like George Y and Rose D post around here, widely reported problems with Kindle Fire are that it runs hot to touch, video playback is jerky, touch screen is not responsive and it takes 2-3 touches to register, power button placement is very poor and is prone to accidental power off, all the hype of Silk browser is not true where the browsing is actually slower than on other Android tablets, Wi-Fi connection gives a lot of trouble to users on it, etc. Amazon's own web site has hundreds of reviews (almost 2000 already) of Kindle Fire's new owners that gave it 1 or 2 star reviews and over 1,000 of 3-star reviews because of choppy/laggy experience they got from this underpowered device.
If you call Amazon their menu actually says "if you have a problem with your Kindle Fire, press three" - "great" device needs its own hot line for problems!

Also, there is a great current promotion announced in the news - until March, anyone who buys a one-year Nook subscription to the New York Times newspaper will receive either the Nook Simple Touch e-reader for [FAQ-ANSWER] or the Nook Color e-reader for . The price of the Nook Tablet will be cut by to 9 for those who buy it with a Nook subscription to People magazine.

Here's some pro reviews for your consideration:
      PCWORLD:
The Nook Tablet's unique display has less reflectivity than the Kindle Fire's, and so is easier to read. The Nook Tablet's display was dazzling overall. The IPS display is laminated and bonded; so unlike on other tablets's displays--including the Kindle Fire's--there's no annoying, visible air gap between the glass screen and the LCD beneath. The Nook Tablet's home screen is highly customizable and provides quick access to apps and reading material.

  30. QUESTION:
Will you be able to play kingdom hearts 3D on a DS light?
Hey guys i was just watching trailers and etc for the next KH game and it looks amazing. my only problem is ITS ON 3DS! im started to get really annoyed with buying new systems just to stay in touch with the story and these awesome game series. so i was wondering if you will be able to play this on a DS light? Because i really dont wanna go out and buy a whole new system just for one game >.> nor do i want to skip one of my all times favorite game collection thanks

    • ANSWER:
      No.

Once every 7 years, you have to buy the New Nintendo System to continue playing New Nintendo games.

And Kingdom Hearts 3D comes out this March in Japan and this March or April in America (and that is 100% Guaranteed by both Square-Enix & Disney).

So You Should get the 3DS.

      And the 3DS has a Built-In Joystick.

And the 3DS with a Wi-Fi Update can RECORD 3D Videos in 60 fps (unlike other camcorders, that only Record in 2D Only and in up to 30 fps only).

So you can pay 9 for a Nintendo 3DS and buy the greatest Games ever & all in 3D Without the Glasses like Cave Story 3D and Kid Icarus and Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 using the MOTION SENSORS to play the game like if you were turning a real steering wheel to turn the Kart left & right and also play such other 8 GB 3D Games like TheatRhytem Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts 3D and Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D and Crush 3D and Shinobi and Animal Crossing and Rodea the Sky Soldier and Michael Jackson: the Experience 3D and Ridge Racer 3D and Super Street Fighter 4 3D and Monster Hunter 4 and Golden Sun 4 and Star Fox 3D and Zelda 3D and Sonic Generations 3D and Tetris 3D and Resident Evil: Revelations and Tales of the Abyss 3D and Tekken 3D which also has the 3D Movie Tekken the Movie 3D in it to watch and also play other 8 GB 3D HD games as Spider Man 3D and 100% of the 3DS games are in HD 3D Without the Glasses.

And 100% of the people who have said that they get headaches from 3D, have said that after up to 1 week of using the 3DS they NO LONGER get headaches anymore and that they now play with the 3D all the way up 100% all the time, non-stop.

But I have never had any problem with the 3D at all, but each person has a different experience with the 3D ON during the first week.

And you can now pay to download 3D & 2D Videos on the 3DS.

And the 3DS is getting Hulu Plus before the end of this year (2011) as a Free downloadable App and Hulu already has 3D Content.

and you can check this Link below for more 3DS Games:
